Just popping in to say hello to everyone visiting the new kitchen where posters are friendly. I don't have much to post waiting for appointment with another consultant regarding my bursitis walking is very painful but I know some have a lot worse worries so best wishes to you all.

Just back home from our weekend in Norfolk. Had a lovely, (if tiring!), time with our DD, SIL & 2 youngest DGDs.

How nice to find another new, friendly kitchen. & yes, I'm often in one of the quiet corners, amazing how many of us lurk there!! wink.

I send warm thoughts to all those with worries & troubles find solace & comfort in this kindly place. x

Hello bright new spring Kitchen.
Last of the Easter biscuits for you all.

We arrived home early this afternoon after lots of traffic on the M25.Had a lovely Easter but it’s nice to be home.

Grandmarie thinking of you, take care and come back to us soon.🌹
Special thoughts to Soop, Annsixty and Grandmabatty 💐
Enjoy your evening everyone..

Grandmabatty Tue 02-Apr-24 17:07:17

Yiayia how kind of you. Well, the boys have been dropped off home and I'm contemplating the chaos in my house. Every room looks like it's been stirred by a stick. Despite the awful weather, we went puddles splashing this morning, then they made mud in the back garden. They had a ball. In for lunch and afterwards dgs2 went for a nap. Dgs1 gradually got more and more hyper about his holiday tomorrow. I took them to the post office to get euros and the poor assistant heard all about it.
So tonight I will tidy up, then have a glass or two of wine. I'll miss them, but I'm sure I'll be updated on a regular basis. Dgs1 has already said he's going to phone me. Chicken, chips and salad for dinner later. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.

Grandmabatty Tue 02-Apr-24 17:09:51

Grannmarie thank you for the kind words about mum. She's struggling to swallow and the nurse has referred her to SALT. It is to be expected because I'm sure she's having lots of tias. I'm sorry to hear that you have family in hospital. My good wishes to you and them.

brook2704 Tue 02-Apr-24 18:21:25

Good afternoon kitchen pals, it’s rained on and off all day here in Inverness. We dropped DGS back home after lunch and then just came back home as it was too cold and miserable to go anywhere. Tonight we’ll be having a rest as tomorrow night it’s DGDs turn to stay over 😳
Hope your DD and family have a lovely holiday grandmabatty enjoy a wee rest if you can whilst they’re away
Hoping you feel up to a trip out somewhere soon annsixty
soop hoping for news of the appointment very soon 💐

GrannyGravy13 Tue 02-Apr-24 18:31:30

We are back home after our Easter break at Centre Parcs (19 family members) I feel like I need a holiday to recover 🤣

Nannytopsy Tue 02-Apr-24 20:25:42

Been there, done that GG! I know how you feel.
I had a letter from the hospital today, to say that they have taken me off the list for my TKR because of the dental treatment instead of delaying it. The dentist is only next week. Trying to speak to them
🤬

Jaxjacky Tue 02-Apr-24 20:33:48

H all, I’m pleased those who’ve been away had a great time, but I can sense the sighs of comfort and familiarity as they return home.
I’m sorry you’ve worries Grannmarie family concerns are often hovering waiting to pounce, you’re not alone I’m sure.
ann I hope you can get out tomorrow, perhaps a short turn around the block in your mobility scoooter?
I’ll join you in a glass Grandmabatty having avoided any colds all winter I’ve a horrible head cold that started yesterday and is now having a party in my head, I’m very sorry about your Mum.
My son passed his driving test today first time, at the age of 33, he used to live in town, so had no need, I’m pleased for him and his partner.
Tomorrows post soop 🤞

Ali23 Tue 02-Apr-24 20:35:11

Thank you for the kind thoughts, Brooke and Naughtyneine. Today has been a much better day.

It’s so lovely to read what you’ve all been up to. ❤️

Urmstongran Tue 02-Apr-24 21:04:59

No-one is alone in Soops kitchen Ali23. Life can be hard at times. There is much kindness in here and we are partial to a group hug now and again.

If you’d like a hug - have one from me now. 🤗 Virtual ones are very comforting I’ve found.

brook2704 Tue 02-Apr-24 21:10:12

That’s great news for your DS Jax well done to him! 👏
Blummin heck nannytopsy that seems unfair - hope you can get put back at the top of the list pdq

gillgran Tue 02-Apr-24 21:23:12

Well done to your son on passing his driving test Jaxjacky.
Hope your cold is short lived.

Nannytopsy, that's tough to be taken off the list for your TKR, just to postpone for whatever time is needed after your dental treatment would be fairer, I do hope you can get that sorted.

Urmstongran, I agree that the virtual group hugs are very welcome & comforting. x

RosiesMaw Tue 02-Apr-24 21:41:52

Good evening dear Kitcheners- there’s a lovely cosy feeling to the thread especially on this raw, wet night.
What happened to those bright hopeful Spring mornings? I really felt we were emerging from a long, wet tunnel - and then the heavens opened again.
May I share youngest GS’s latest sweet little offering?
I was about to leave his other grandparents’ house this afternoon after champagne and cake to celebrate SIL’s fathers 80th, and SIL said to littlest fella “Say bye bye to Janny”(that’s me)
He looked puzzled -
“But I ALWEDDY bye byed Janny!”
He is a wee treasure! (2 1/2)
I hope those of you awaiting news or treatment or some light on the horizon don’t have too long to wait.
But for now, there’s cwtches and cake.

Ali23 Tue 02-Apr-24 22:03:34

Urms, a virtual group hug in Soop’s wonderful kitchen is just the ticket. Thank you.

SueDonim Tue 02-Apr-24 22:05:49

Oh no, I’ve just lost my post! 😫😫 I’ll simply wish you all goodnight, instead. 😴 😴

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 02-Apr-24 22:20:48

Hello kitchen people. I’m so sorry lots of us are having difficulties at the moment. Hopefully there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
I had fun at the WI coffee morning. Just a select group today - I think lots of ladies are away for Easter.
A trip to waitrose and then a couple of hours sorting WI stuff out for tomorrow’s meeting. This is my eighth year so maybe someone else can take over next year!
Have a good rest of the evening.

Nannytopsy Tue 02-Apr-24 22:33:24

LLFL we should start a WI thread. The committee came this afternoon and tomorrow morning we have a catering meeting for a forthcoming group meeting. Next week it’s the AGM.
Hope everyone sleeps well tonight, putting worries to one side. X

Catterygirl Tue 02-Apr-24 22:40:02

Wishing you all a restful and happy night.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 03-Apr-24 15:20:24

Hello kitchen people. I do hope the Soops have had their letter by now.
I spent two hours at the hairdresser today where I had my roots done. There was one and a half inches of grey, apparently!
Since I have been home and after a quick lunch, I have been boxing and labelling the Guinea fowl stock I made yesterday. There are twelve boxes of various sizes in the freezer.
I thought I’d read the paper now and have a rest before my committee meeting at 6 pm. OH will cook dinner ready for my return.
I hope you’re having the best day possible. Group hugs and cuddles are in order.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 03-Apr-24 15:31:06

My granddaughter had fun making beeswax candles at the weekend. She loved my stained glass thing so displayed her candles next to it.

SueDonim Wed 03-Apr-24 19:00:14

Coloured beeswax? That’s amazing, LLFL! I love them.

I’m thinking of everyone who is unwell/sad and hope better times are coming soon.

It’s been yet another dismal day here, rain all day and so heavy this afternoon. It’s also cold, 6deg. Today it’s been a making phone calls kind of day, arranging for someone to come and find out why my WM is making a whirring noise and so on. I had to go to Tesco as well, where there was virtually a river running through the car park.

The kittens have been very mischievous, one has climbed all the way up the curtains to the pole at the top, another one was happily sitting inside the washing machine, washing himself (maybe that’s the source of the whirring noise!) and one or other of them went into the dishwasher and wouldn’t come out. 😂. Luckily GD for a short time and kept them amused.

Have a pleasant evening, everyone. TOYA. Xxx

GrannyGravy13 Wed 03-Apr-24 19:12:38

19 of us went away for Easter, seven of us are now ill. We all appear to have picked up a nasty virus. I am off to bed with a camomile tea and paracetamol.

Jaxjacky Wed 03-Apr-24 19:29:04

I hope today has improved another notch Ali23.
Very pretty llfl
You must never be bored with those antics SueD constant entertainment.
After a quick blood test (cholesterol), I raided the pharmacy, but nothing seems to halt this racking cough, it’ll pass, I just wish it would hurry up! So, not much done today, dabbed nose, coughed and drank lots of water.
Sorry to hear you’re poorly too GG13 I hope it’s short lived and you get some sleep.
Fingers crossed postie delivered for the soops.

cornergran Wed 03-Apr-24 20:13:53

I’m lost for words nannyt. Hope you prevail. That’s appalling.

Fingers are crossed here for the arrival of that letter soop.

Can I join the sit in the corner gang? I would like, indeed need, to see a GP. Can’t get past the system to book appointments. It doesn’t understand the ‘why’ of it. I’m feeling a bit as if my tunnel has been filled in, not a chink of light. I’ll prevail, one day when I can summon energy. In the meantime life goes on, it’s just a bit difficult.

Take care everyone. Kind thoughts for all with personal mountains to climb. TOYA
