The same weather here SueD, grey, miserable, cold and wet all day. I was at a volunteering session this morning, then off to the gym for aqua aerobics. A quick trip to Tesco then we picked up DGD for her sleepover. She’s been busy helping cook dinner with us, just chicken pasta but we all enjoyed it. A half hour of tv now before bedtime

I've had a lazy day today. A bit of tidying and I took down the Easter decorations but that's all. it has rained here all day too which is so annoying. Soop my best to you and your Mister.

Good afternoon kitchen pals, so pleased to report that the sun has come out briefly this afternoon and it’s actually stopped raining!
We’re just back home now after a busy day. We took both DGC swimming at the gym and then across the road to Costa for a hot chocolate. They were quite well behaved, just the usual bickering and teasing each other but we got them home safely without too much bother
Hoping soop has some better news soon 💐

Managed to get a GP appointment, I have a chest infection which has exacerbated my asthma. Antibiotics and an eight week course of steroids 😡

Hope antibiotics and steroids work quickly GG.
Granmarie Sorry you are not up to posting take care of yourself ,there appears to be a lot of not feeling our best ,think a bit of sunshine would make things feel a bit brighter. We have had 2of out gcs today they cheer me up especially their cuddles. Best wishes to all.

It’s rained off and on all day again, not heavy, but just there and no sun, so I’ve been indoors playing at domesticity! I also spent a ridiculous amount of time online looking at sheds, I’m easily distracted.

Hello kitchen people! I’m in bed and have been reading Pepys’ Diary.
Today was a good day. We had lunch with very old friends. A delicious lunch. I then spent a couple of hours typing up the notes from last night’s committee meeting.
I hope all of you with various ailments are recovering and it would be good to hear that the Soops have good news.

A wee message from the quiet corner. You lovely lot have not been forgotten. I send healing vibes to all our Kitcheners who are feeling below par.

Still no referral letter for Mr Soop's "urgent" skin cancer treatment. Every day I hope that the postie will deliver the letter. When he does, I shall breathe a huge sigh of blessed relief. The sooner my dear husband is admitted for treatment, the more confident I shall feel.

I have a mammogram scheduled for nest week. Again we travel to Glasgow. We may have of the pleasure of meeting our pal, Baggs.

Our lovely local pal has had breast cancer surgery. The surgeon was the very lady who removed my breast five years ago. She is now on the road to recovery and recovering at home, where she belongs. Radiotherapy to begin in the near future.

As it is the beginning of the weekend, I shall enjoy a glass of well-rounded, red wine later this evening. I shall raise a toast to you all.

Soop, I hope that letter comes soon.
I have pottered today. All the Easter decorations are down, I've done all the washing and the dishwasher has been busy. The weather here has been atrocious all day, cold and wet, so I haven't been bothered about staying home. I'm meeting a friend for breakfast tomorrow and will enjoy that. Then I'll check on dds house for mail etc. They are having a lovely time in Tenerife, lucky things. I hope tomorrow is warmer and drier. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.

I’m just home from an a really enjoyable afternoon at the gym - a farewell buffet and get together before it closes its doors forever on Sunday. I’ve made such a lot of lovely friends there over the years and it’ll be a big change for us all - will see how I feel about joining a different gym but not decided yet

Hello kitchen people. What a pain Soop! Is it worth checking that the letter has actually been sent?
I made a batch of my granddaughter’s favourite ice cream today - chocolate peppermint.
OH went to visit his bees. They were a bit moody because of the rain and he was stung!
Our gardener spent a couple of hours in the garden this morning. She planted a few plants including a blue lavetera.
OH is heating up some of his homemade soup (which no one else likes) - pea and ham. I’m just having fish and chips for dinner.

Hi all, frustrating soop.
Imogen is also awaiting appointments for her epilepsy, new drugs have been prescribed, but it’s complicated, my daughter is wrought.
The cold and cough continue, a friend suggested hay fever, so I’ve taken a tablet 🤞.
It’s been on/off drizzle again, my son and his partner called in, chuffed in their car, they went food shopping last night, quite a outing!
End of a happy routine brook I hope you all stay in contact, or at least with some.

Tenerife seems popular. DD2 , SiL and dgd are off there on Sunday, we have the pleasure of the grand dogs for a week.

Off to our local community bar with a friend tonight. We’ll raise a glass to a dear friend who sadly died last week. We’d been friends for 62 years.

Our weather, unbelievably, has got even worse! We woke up to an inch or two of snow this morning and bitter cold. The snow has been washed away by copious rain, it’s just so horrible and depressing.

Yesterday I met with my NWR group, which was enjoyable. My dd also delivered a secondhand but unused garden trough to me. I spotted it for sale on a local FB page and am very pleased with my bargain. It’s bigger than I thought so now I’m planning what to grow in it. I’ll need a lot more compost, too.

Today has been grandchildren-wrangling from 9am to 7pm. For some reason my feet are now burning and very sore! The GC were really pretty but when you’re having to trail through rain and puddles to do anything it gets you down. Later this afternoon we succumbed to the ‘moving wallpaper’ and watched Madagascar on TV. Dd then came by and I fed everyone before ushering them out of the front door and closing it with a sigh of relief. That didn’t last long as a precious bunny had been left behind so they were back within five minutes to collect it! 😂. They’re off on holiday now (only UK, nowhere warm) so we won’t see them for ten days.

One benefit is that the kittens have also been exhausted by the attentions of small children and both are also sound asleep. Usually they’re having a riot about now, although I noticed that one of them has created chaos by hoicking out all the books from a shelf of a bookcase and emptying my bag of knitting wool. They’re a full time job, these kitties! 🐱 🐱

Someone came today to quote for new flooring to replace the flood damaged stuff s that’s another job ticked off. Still no word on when repairs will begin so I’ll also be on the phone Monday morning to the insurance company.

Storm Kathleen is due tomorrow, oh joy. At least it should be warmer. I’ll need to go to get weekend food but don’t plan much else until it’s passed.

Good afternoon kitchen pals, it’s been a dry but very windy day here in Inverness. I managed an hour in the garden but it was so windy it was blowing everything about so I came in. I’m so pleased that I eventually got my Amaryllis bulb to flower again after keeping it from last year - better late than never! It was the first time I’d tried keeping one from the previous year but I’m so pleased we did, I wonder if it’ll flower a third year running …
DD2 and family are also on holiday from today so it’s very quiet here, they’re flying from Glasgow so I hope the winds and stormy weather isn’t too disruptive
Your kittens sound absolutely gorgeous SueD how lucky to have them both
Salmon and roasted veg for dinner later, one of our favourites so looking forward to that with a glass of wine too

Brook your amaryllis is a beautiful colour.
I met a friend for breakfast and we had to agree to disagree over a contentious topic which has unsettled me a bit. I've changed the bedding but not done much else. Lots of photos coming from dd which is lovely. I'm tempted by a fish supper for dinner later. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners

Hi all, that was a good spot on the garden trough SueD, they’re expensive.
What a lovely colour brook I don’t manage indoor plants well, as in I kill them, so apart from a birthday orchid that I ignore, I’ve given up.
It’s been warm today when the sun managed a peek, but the wind is still keen, two pairs of jeans nearly dried outside and MrJ’s shirts are ready for him to iron.
My cold is easing, now at of ‘nose that wants to sneeze but just makes your eyes water’ stage, highly annoying.
I hope all the other poorlies are improving, or preferably back to good health.
