“Sailing By” by Ronald Bynge aka the Shipping Forecast music.
I used to try to get to sleep when DH was in hospital and after he died, by listening to the Shipping Forecast.
The music now can hit me in the solar plexus and reduce me to a snivelling wreck within seconds.
I can’t explain the physical pain I feel which passes after the music has ended, but it is very real.

Bette Midler Wind Beneath My Wings. It was recently played at the funeral of my close friend's wonderful husband. I watched it on webcam and howled.

Several songs make me well up although I’m very careful to hide it as I refuse to cry in front of others. My mother had the most beautiful voice and always sang, mainly folk songs, when she did her housework. She also sang operetta and ‘Sorrento’ was a favourite. It makes me cry to hear it. I played it over and over when she died. I also love The Chiffons ‘He’s so fine’ as it reminds me of sitting in the empty hospital nursery in the middle of the night with my newborn son and it was playing quietly as I fed him. He was indeed very fine with his wavy hair, just like the song! Never fails to make me cry with longing for that precious time.

My mum and daughter said I had ice cubes running through my veins (unlike those two, when Cilla reunited families!)

Just about every song anyone has mentioned on here plus loads more, I'm terrible! Van Morrison "Into the mystic" always gets me going, a beautiful song & one I would like at my funeral, shame I won't hear it!

I am going back a bit here but when l was a child l would cry my heart out to 'Puff the Magic Dragon' it still makes me sad.

Supermarket Flowers (think that's the correct title) by Ed Sheeran. Basically because it came out around the time my Mum died and I actually can't listen to it.
Likewise the Wedding March from the Sound of Music , because it was playing when Mum took her last breath. Another one I can't listen to.
Bless This House. We had this on a pianola roll and I remember my Dad singing his heart out to it when we used to have family musical singalongs gathered around the piano, either using the piamola rolls or playing ourselves.

@@JamesandJon33 I suspect your tears for Chasing Cars are the same as mine. I hear the song and get an image in my mind of Grey's Anatomy.
Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) has just died, Izzie (Katherine Heigl) has just got dressed up for Richard's niece's prom, and is lying on the bed with him. The rest of her group of friends (Meredith, Alex, Christina, George and Callie) are there. Alex tells her that Denny isn't Denny anymore, and lifts her off the bed and sits with her in his arms, all whilst we hear an adapted version of Chasing Cars.
Even typing this has brought me to tears.
