Just been listening to the Welsh National Anthem on Utube. In Welsh, of course. Thinking of some of my ancestors from North Wales in the nineteenth century, what a wonderful anthem. Can’t beat the Welsh choirs.
What music makes you emotional?
Have to admit there are quite a few pieces for me.

Metallica- Nothing Else Matters Dream On- Aerosmith. When my husband died we had a church funeral for his family. These songs were two of his favourites, and they were my goodbye to him at the crematorium.

I didn't know that suep. I will look it up.

My mom loved Scarlet Ribbons.

My mum loved Scarlet Ribbons too.
Andy Williams singing Moon River and Telstar by the Tornados both make me teary. I've no idea why but they've had that effect on me since I first heard them when I was about 7 years old.

Lots of songs make me cry but when I hear Land of our Fathers it reminds me of my Welsh mum so I cry.

Also my husbands favourites that were played at his funeral My Life by The Beatles and Forever Young by Bob Dylan upset me.

And many years ago I was in hospital having had a miscarriage at 12 weeks and waiting a D&C by husband requested the hospital radio played for me I just called to say I love you by Stevie Wonder, I sobbed that night and still get upset whenever I hear it.

The Gaelic song 'An Ataireachd Ard' (The High Swell of the Sea) was performed by the group 'Capercaillie'' as part of the soundtrack of a TV series some years ago. I listen to it and sing along, but seldom get beyond the first verse without weeping tears in remembrance of my childhood. You can still find it on YouTube.

Apart from several of the above, the BBC music for the London Marathon moves me, and I don't really know why!

Waterloo sunset by the Kinks, to name just one, I used to hang around trafalgar square and surrounds in my early teens with my mates, sadly all left this earth but songs from this time bring back memories of them, can't believe time went so quickly
