Good morning all and it’s quiet out there. No rain, wind or sun here in Essex.

We’re travelling up to our Suffolk hide-away today. The roads will be busy as there’s a train strike here. We’ll leave after rush hour.(s).

Walking group this morning, then dash home for a quick lunch before meeting my friend for Line Dancing.

Children back at school today. DGD2 is preparing for her GCSE's starting in May! She went to school a few times in the holidays for revision classes.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and sunny. Long may it continue. Marydoll I promise to wave back, although you are probably closer to Scapa! I think Stirling Castle has dressing up clothes for children. Don't quote me on that though. Brook I'm sure you will find a new routine although it is a pity your gym has closed. Oops I hope you feel better soon.
Yesterday I did a food shop at Aldi then my friend phoned. Two and a half hours later we said our goodbyes. She's quite a bit younger than me, but we get on so well. After that I visited mum. Other than that, I was lazy.
Today was a long lie for me. Lovely. I will potter about the house and garden if it stays dry. I have an ironing to do and the house needs hoovering. My bed in the front garden needs weeding too. Steak pie for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. My cleaning lady is coming this morning, she will sort out the bathrooms and I must get down to the ironing. I expect we shall have a walk later.

Morning from a damp Co Durham. Quick visit as I’m off to a local town for a manicure, pedicure, facial and eyebrow treatment. I’ve been feeling low lately so decided to treat myself.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dry with a blue sky , pale but definitely blue.
More bits of ceiling came down yesterday but the roofer did not return. I hope he does before it rains again.
The electrician came to repair the hall lights! I must have been on his to-do list. He told me the bungalow next door to his will come on the market soon.....

I was going to say I am much better when I had a paroxysmal bout of coughing. The duty doctor will phone me this morning but I doubt they can diagnose like that.

Enjoy Stirling castle Marydoll we took 2 of ours there at around Dollie's age and they loved it especially playing medieval instruments and sitting on thrones.

Good morning from a bright, dry, warm Colchester. 16° with rain forecast this evening. Much less breeze than the weekend, hooray.
Washing in the machine and robot hoover doing his thing upstairs at the moment.
DH will be home from his weekend away later, so I need to walk to Aldi for supplies.

After three days of not doing much at all except reading and binge watching I plan to get some jobs done today. I’m feeling happier now that my aches are not so bad and I can get about much better.

Good morning from a bright South Downs.

Just doing the housework today, as I worked myself to another standstill to finish my bee and butterfly bed, which is completed all but a few tweaks, like finishing mulching - the rose Teasing Georgia, and the clematis Hagley Hybrid snd Minuet, which I will do probably on Wednesday then finished! That is one side of the garden finished. I shall start on the more shady side then.

A quiet day today I think apart from the usual dog walk soon. I spent a couple of hours yesterday in the summerhouse with doors wide open yesterday and will probably do the same again today.

Back grass had its first cut yesterday, I put early potatoes in, sowed some seeds and MrJ collected a load of bark.

Got round to practising songs and intros yesterday. Today housework and looking forward to seeing The Motive at the cinema tonight. My Dsister saw it onstage in London so I’m glad of the chance to see it myself.

Another grey morning with some probable rain forecast - will it ever end? An unexciting week in view so some clearing and sorting seems inevitable but dull is better than worrying. Castle visiting sounds excellent, Marydoll, and I hope it a.l goes to plan.

Good morning from sunny (for now) East Lothian. Our little flat faces east/west which is great for enjoying sunrises and sunsets. I sat reading, bathed in warm sunshine yesterday evening and watched the sky lighten and change colour this morning when I got up.

Yesterday we went to church where we had a friendly welcome though we haven’t been there since December. Some members are planning to contribute flowers and bunting to ‘yarn bomb’ a local park so I optimistically picked up the patterns - I am not ‘crafty’ but it looks simple so I will give it a go.
We had an outing to a garden centre with DD and family after lunch. DGS was there under protest but enjoyed his milkshake and chips.

I am waiting to hear what the plans are for the next couple of days - DD and SiL were going to have a couple of days away in their caravan but the weather for Tuesday looks grim again so they may just book a room. As well as a break, they want to visit a vulnerable older relative in Glasgow.

I am planning to do some more weeding in DD’s garden - she has a disabling neuromuscular condition and can’t do long gardening sessions. Your bee and butterfly bed sounds lovely Whitewavemark.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle, at least the wind has gone...for now. I listened to the shipping forecast last night and was glad I wasn't a fisher person.

This morning it's back to the usual round of laundry and housework, this afternoon, who knows? I keep looking longingly out at the garden so that's where I'll be if possible. One good thing out there, I have masses of ladybirds, I'm wondering if I should move some into the front where my roses have been pestered by aphis for weeks.
I'm also needing some days out but don't feel like going out and about when the weather's poor, it's no pleasure walking about in the wind/rain.
Keeping my fingers crossed for those in America for the eclipse, the forecast is not so good for clear skies.

We braved the breeze yesterday and moved on some dwarf sweet peas , the Cornus had been cut down a while ago so we used some of the canes as supports

Morning everyone from the Glasgow to Lanark train where I’m travelling home having deposited 11 year old DGD who was with me for a long weekend. We had such a good time but I confess to enjoying the relaxation of silence, that girl can talk!

I look forward to hearing about your outing Marydoll, we haven’t done that one yet.

I must share the most amazing improvement to my life with you all. After much procrastinating I have had a home loop system fitted to my television and it’s like a miracle. Every word and sound is crystal clear, I almost cried with excitement when I first tried it out!

Good morning from a dry Dunblane with blue skies. At the moment anyway. Not sure what we are doing today but tomorrow we are off to Elgin for a couple of nights. It will probably be wet but will be good to have a change of scenery. Marydoll I will be waving to you at Stirling Castle as GM says only about 10 minutes down the road from me. Good morning from a warm, grey but dry East Midlands. A weekend of pain as the antibiotics haven’t started to work yet, if ever. My little daffodils are still flowering.

So sorry about your continuing pain Purplepixie but glad you're finding joy in your little daffodils. Mine are a trifle windblown after the last few days!
