Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and its raining here in brackley at the moment .
Today my usual morning excursion on the bus to Bicester , coffee , followed by some shopping and see people I know.
This afternoon will be at home watching TV , what was surprising yesterday was seeing a coach from the people I go on day trips with On TV news , as they were taking people to Fenny Compton about 15-20 miles from here for the postmasters debate.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all from a foul windy 8°C northwest coast.
Yesterday I took a lot of stuff to the charity shop but came away with brand new brown Roman style sandals…
Today I’m ‘hosting’ the music club, so will have a practice warble and must remember everyone’s names. There’s a particular chap I have misnamed from the start.
Thoughts to WWM2💐

RosiesMaw I saw the Motive and the Cue last night, as you say, Gatliss was so good. I couldn’t catch everything Johnny Flynn said, but both difficult roles.

Grandmachrisy47 Tue 09-Apr-24 10:43:43

So sorry for your loss, WWM2

Purplepixie Tue 09-Apr-24 10:35:01

Whitewavemark2 - So very sorry on your sad loss. Always so very sad to lose a best friend.

Good morning from a very wet and dismal East Midlands. I am so down in the dumps today and have to give myself a big shake. Hubby really hurt my feelings last night and I cannot shake it off. Fed up.

Good morning from East Lothian where it is raining steadily. I woke up to news that there is flooding back home in West Sussex (not in our immediate area).

We had a family outing yesterday to Newhailes House, a National Trust for Scotland property. It is over 300 years old and was the residence of one of Scotland’s top families of lawyers and judges. Our tour guide was very interesting and informative and even our teenage DGSs had their attention held.

I managed a bit of gardening at DDs yesterday evening before the rain started - a rose bush is to be transferred from its pot to a now empty spot in a border.

So sorry to hear about Duncan, Whitewavemark 💐

Hope a few restful days will restore your mojo, Grandmattie.

So glad the castle trip went well, Marydoll. I’d love to have been eavesdropping near you on that train!

Safe journey, Stilllearning.

I’m undecided on how to spend the day. DGSs will be on a sailing course from tomorrow until Friday so it would be lovely to see something of them today. They should be revising for the exams but I suspect computer games will be played for much of the day. I will see if DD needs anything doing (hopefully not ironing).

A late good morning from Malta where it’s hot and sunny.

The boys turn 2 today so I have just taken them out to the park to enjoy the good weather. Both still coughing but a lot better than yesterday thank goodness.

WWM condolences. It’s the hardest part of having a pet that their lives are too short compared with ours.😞

☀️

Marydoll glad you enjoyed your day, another smaller castle is Doune Castle bits of Outlander were filmed there. Really need a car to go there though!

Grammaretto Tue 09-Apr-24 09:57:31

A bright and breezy Good Morning from Co Armagh
I opened the blinds this morning and got back into bed ! If I don’t open the blinds the neighbours accross the street get anxious 🙄 I read the Good Morning thread in bed most mornings and add my few words ( when I remember ) after my breakfast
I’ve seedlings to pot on today , my Cucumbers are looking a bit too leggy , but I do like to watch them grow so I’ll pot them deeply a fingers crossed, I’ll get a good harvest , I grow the short varieties
Hoping for ☀️ and happy things for us all today

I'm not a GM poster but I do read through the posts here sometimes. I just wanted to pass on my sympathy to Whitewave on the loss of your dog, he looked a lovely little chap and was obviously a well loved member of your family, I'm sure he enjoyed a lovely life with you and that's the best thing anyone can do for their animal.flowers

Feelingmyage55 Tue 09-Apr-24 09:40:40

What a photo😎

Feelingmyage55 Tue 09-Apr-24 09:39:45

How wet can it be? It is 4 degrees and raining in sheets in the north of Scotland. I gave my neighbour a lift to the station for the early train and couldn’t hear conversation for the drumming of the torrents and the windscreen wipers.
WWM so sorry.
GMattie I do hope you start to feel less tired. Sounds as if the police are making some real effort.
Castle bagging was a big deal for our youngsters. My eldest is extending her reach to Europe now. She has a scrape off map.
No gardening today. Tennis, tea and toast.

Marydoll Tue 09-Apr-24 09:24:03

My friend, who is at conference in Dallas has just sent me this photo, which he took.

A once in a lifetime experience.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 09-Apr-24 09:20:45

MaryDoll what a wonderful day for you 🩷

Whitewavemark2 so sorry RIP Duncan 🌼

Sorry to hear about the loss of Duncan WWM

Aw marydoll you should have stayed on the train and popped in for a visit! Pleased you all had such a lovely day though 😍

RosiesMaw Tue 09-Apr-24 09:07:27

Good morning from N Bucks where it is wet and very windy.
Whitewave I am so very sorry, it has broken my heart every time that time has come and we’ve had to love them enough to let them go.
I have just dropped Rosie off at the vets for her dental procedure (cracked tooth extraction) and have had a sleepless night worrying about her having a GA.
The house feels very empty, so sincere sympathy for your loss - it’s never less than heart breaking.

Marydoll Tue 09-Apr-24 08:54:58

I forgot to with Stilllearning a safe journey.

Marydoll Tue 09-Apr-24 08:53:45

Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow, where It is 6°C.

GM, it is not surprising you feel low.
Good news Ash, a good night's sleep. makes all the difference to our ability to cope with life trials.
WWM. 💐

We had the best of adventures yesterday with Dollie, made even better by all the lovely people we met, including a family from Hong Kong.

Despite going on the train to Glasgow, Dollie still believed we were going to Sainsbury's. The fact that she noticed the one adjacent to Glasgow Central made her so convinced.
In her excitement she caused two policemen to body swerve us.
They asked her where she was going and she promptly told them, Sainsbury's. I whispered where we were going and they laughed and asked if they could come too,
She still hadn't sussed it out when we boarded the train at Queen Street.

To add to her excitement, her daddeeee met us unexpectedly outside Central Station and accompanied us to Queen Street Station. He obviously wanted to escape from the office.
I thought Dollie was going to burst with excitement. Papa was just as bad! 😂

People round about us on the train were amused by her chat. I suggested she listen to the onboard announcements for a clue to our destination. That didn't work, because the train was bound for Inverness. 😂
Eventually, I said, "It begins with C". "Krispy Kreme", she replied! The women opposite burst out laughing.

I have never managed so much walking for years (of course there were frequent stops and rests and a taxi up to the castle).
Thankfully, on returning home, my car was parked at the front door of the station, I would never have made it down to the car park!
Thinking a bath was a good idea, was in fact not! I couldn't find the energy to get out and Mr MD was dozing resting. The water was stone cold by the time managed it. 🥶
We have taken onboard yesterday's suggestion and are already planning our next castle bagging adventure.

I wish you all a pleasant day. Mine will be mainly a day of recuperation.

Grannyme6 Tue 09-Apr-24 08:50:49

Good morning from a wet and windy north Essex. Yet another tennis session will be cancelled no doubt. A day of jobs around the house, including sorting summer clothes into a keep pile and a charity shop pile. I hope all the poorlies are beginning to feel better - GG13, good to hear the medication is helping.
Wishing all a good day. x

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 09-Apr-24 08:48:44

Good morning from a wet and windy Oxfordshire. Heating has turned itself on.

Another nothing day so that I can help to calm my vertigo, so thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited! We are helping MzOops move next week so I have to be well.

WWM I’m so sorry, I’ve been there and you have all my sympathy💐

I hope all who can have a good day and hugs for those who are stressed, unhappy or unwell.

Urmstongran Tue 09-Apr-24 08:45:49

Aw Whitewave sorry to hear your sad news about Duncan.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s very grey.
WWM so sorry to hear your news.
I slept late after a busy day yesterday with a walk then mowing the lawns.
Off to meet a fellow trustee to discuss meeting dates for next academic year. It is to be our last as we are passing the charity on in Summer 25 if not sooner.
History Society this evening. Hoping to learn something about the quarter sessions. An ancestor of mine was up before them for poaching in this village 200 years ago. Small world!
Have a good day everyone.

EkwaNimitee Tue 09-Apr-24 08:38:28

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dark and very rainy Carlisle.
Yesterday I was out in the garden in warm weather, planting and then digging out two more of the under-whelming deutzias put in by the developer. Only 2 more to go...I have to pace myself and bits of me are complaining a bit this morning.
I'll crack on with housework and laundry this morning and pleasurable things in the afternoon.

I'm sorry to hear you've lost your little friend Whitewave.

Grammaretto Tue 09-Apr-24 08:37:14

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it has rained all night and is still raining. There was even a layer of snow earlier.

Yesterday was lovely . I saw the doctor about my incessant cough . She has ordered me an Xray but doesn't think there's anything to worry about.
The Roofer came and once more thought he had found and mended the roof. Rain is currently plopping into buckets through what's left of the living room ceiling.
So depressing 😞

Filming begins today in my house. It's a docu-drama by a local actor turned director.

Stilllearning I hope you get some zzzz on the bus and enjoy your time with your sister.
I am not surprised that you are exhausted gMattie you have had so much to contend with and your holiday was far too short.

Sorry about your dear little dog wwm

I hope everyone finds some joy today

Georgesgran Tue 09-Apr-24 08:31:24

So sorry WWM to read your sad news. 💐

NannyJan53 Tue 09-Apr-24 08:30:02

Good morning from another grey and wet Black Country. At least it was dry yesterday until the evening!

Popping over to Merry HellHill today as I ordered a summer jumpsuit for DGD4's birthday and it is ready to collect. Only a 12 minute bus ride away.

MrJ is due on a bike ride, but looks like it will be cancelled again because of the rain. He is getting very frustrated!

So sorry Whitewave to hear your very sad news. flowers

Wishing you all the best day possible
