Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and its raining here in brackley at the moment .
Today my usual morning excursion on the bus to Bicester , coffee , followed by some shopping and see people I know.
This afternoon will be at home watching TV , what was surprising yesterday was seeing a coach from the people I go on day trips with On TV news , as they were taking people to Fenny Compton about 15-20 miles from here for the postmasters debate.
Take Care,
Mick

grandMattie Tue 09-Apr-24 05:50:02

Good mor from a wee Bristol.
I hope the rain eases off as I would like to restart going to my outdoor tai chi classes; not having a car, I walk for half an hour to get there. I gave up over winter as I get too cold.
I was dozing yesterday (feeling very tired again) when my phone woke me up. It was the police with an extremely voluble policewoman asking me for extra information regarding the scammers email dates. It probably won’t help me but may stop other people being caught.
Today, t’ai chi probably and not much else. I seem to have lost my mojo. Hope it returns soon, unharmed!
Have a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Pantglas2 Tue 09-Apr-24 05:56:00

Good morning from a very rough north Wales coast where the dratted 💨 woke me at 4am 🤬 - I made use of the chamberpot a lot earlier than planned and no doubt will flake out this afternoon to compensate!

Emptying the garage freezer later and switching it off so some odd meals coming up at PG Towers along with fridge bottom soup 🍜 and some freshly baked bread 🍞- gosh I know how to spoil that man of mine 😉

Hope this foul weather hasn’t affected anyone too badly and all are able to attend appointments and jollies accordingly 🤞

grandMattie Tue 09-Apr-24 06:06:16

Oh, pant, I absolutely love the idea of “fridge bottom soup”! DH was used to “eccentric meals” but never that… 😂

Greyduster Tue 09-Apr-24 06:08:32

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire and I have been awake since just after three. I shall be asleep on my feet by lunchtime no doubt. I think we are in for a wet day. Yesterday I went to our Botanical Gardens and the sun came out fleetingly! Nothing much was flowering but it was a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon. The gardens has a resident cat - he’s usually to be found sunning himself in the long border but yesterday he had decided that he needed a more tropical environment so he was lounging around in the Paxton Pavillion. Sensible chap!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from a very wet and windy east coast of Fife. (I’ve already posted ) but lost the post my 2 friends of old are visiting me today we used to ski together and we had such great fun - that’s me on the left

My friends keep warm and safe

Good morning from a damp, breezy Torbay.

Mick: Apparently, visitors to Fenny Compton take selfies outside the village hall ever since the Mr. Bates series. I’m glad the BBC is keeping this shocking story alive and hope the perpetrators of the shocking affair will be brought to justice.

grandMattie: it’s not surprising you’ve lost some of your usual zest for life, given what you've been through. I hope you pick up soon.

Unlike Pantglas2 and Greyduster, I've had the best night's sleep in over a week! Sheer exhaustion, I think, as I haven’t slept well since being told I mustn’t drive. The reality has hit me hard. Today I’m having a lift to Props from one of the other team members.

Cats seem to have some kind of instinct for finding warm places, don’t they, Greyduster?

I hope we can all find a reason to smile today. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Stilllearning Tue 09-Apr-24 06:33:56

A dawn good morning from me today. The threatened downpour doesn’t seem to have started yet in my bit of South Lanarkshire so I do hope it holds off till I have boarded my bus to Glasgow en route to visit my sister in Aberdeen, if I can make it to the bus stop I’m undercover for the rest of the way.
I’ve been so afraid of sleeping in I’ve been awake for half the night so will probably snooze anyway.

I enjoyed returning to chair yoga yesterday but found it quite demanding after a break. I have a little bit of ‘whiplash’ pain from a sudden swerve in a friend’s car , a bit ironic after giving up driving myself!
The lovely instructor has shown me some gentle movements to practice so hopefully that and heat will help.

Needless to say, after drinking the cup of tea I brought back to bed, I could now slide down and sleep so I had better get into the shower and start the day

Wishing everyone the best day possible and sending kind thoughts to those who need them.

Good morning from s somerset, the rain has been battering the windows all night and woke me up. It is very windy and not nice

I am at the in/out stage with my seedling babies, it needs to get to 10 degrees before I put them into my small cold greenhouse. They are looking very sturdy.

Some more of `whatever` today, I am expecting parcels so it will be pottering, knitting and reading

Have a good day

Good morning from Durham. It rained overnight, so everywhere is sopping.
Shocking news from a friend yesterday - her youngest AC is in trouble - his fault.
Is it this week you have more tests Ash? Your reaction is understandable.
I’m meeting a friend at a local garden centre this morning then chiropodist in the afternoon.
Best wishes to all.X

Good morning from a very windy and grey looking Essex coast. Yesterday the tides were very high and there were warnings along all the local beaches.
Today DH and I have to go to the bank to collect some change, he will then go off and I will do some shopping.
DD1 collected their puppy yesterday. I had some wonderful pictures of the girls with him. I'm going to visit in a couple of weeks so I can have a cuddle too.
Have a great day everyone and be careful in the wind xx

Susan56 Tue 09-Apr-24 06:59:03

GrannyGravy13 Tue 09-Apr-24 06:59:54

Morning all from a grey wet S E Essex, I have The Imp today as DD is at work, his brother is at his Dad’s and rang last night to say he has now got the family lurgy he wants to come home, but I think Daddy will want to keep him and pamper him 💙

My darling DiL is really poorly, she has been prescribed strong penicillin, so I may have GD & GS dropped here first thing (6&4), best double up on the vitamins 🤣

Have a good day everyone 🙋‍♀️

PS hope our Marydoll had a great day yesterday

monk08 Tue 09-Apr-24 07:02:37

Good morning all from a very wet Black country.
I have a 9am appt at the bank this morning, then meeting 2 friends ex work colleagues for coffee and cake will be good to meet up we speak on phone regularly but haven't been face to face for a year.
DH as booked us for a carvery later so no cooking in all should be a fairly relaxing day.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Pittcity Tue 09-Apr-24 07:05:08

Good morning from a wet and windy Colchester.
Back to charity shop volunteering after a week off. DH is looking after 2 DGSs for a few hours.
We'll both be exhausted this evening.
Love to all 🦩 x

RosesandLilac Tue 09-Apr-24 07:06:49

Good morning everyone from soggy south Glos, the rain’s been beating on the windows here.
Yesterday I finished crocheting my throw so I must focus on the Aran cardigan for my great niece now - I need to concentrate if I’m not to spend more time unpicking than making progress 🙄
DH is out for an eye appointment all morning and the dog has her dog walker so the day is mine!
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

kittylester Tue 09-Apr-24 07:13:59

Good morning from a very damp North Leicestershire.

I have a singing lesson at 9 am - bit too early, I think! This afternoon we have DGS3 and DGD1 here and will probably go to the local Indian restaurant. They are always really entertaining and have busy lives so we are very lucky that they also enjoy spending time here.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire.

No rain over here yet Stilllearning, hope you have a smooth journey up to Aberdeen and enjoy the time with your sister.

My sister arrived safely yesterday so we caught up on all the family goings on. Haven’t yet decided what we’ll do today, will see what the weather looks like.

Take it easy gMattie, I’m sure your mojo will find its way back to you.

Have the best day possible everyone, thinking of our friends coping with illness and sadness within their families.

brook2704 Tue 09-Apr-24 07:31:15

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s a grey damp start the day but a lot less windy
Safe travels stilllearning and enjoy seeing your sister in Aberdeen and hope it stays dry
I’ve got a volunteering session this morning, but nothing much else planned for the day.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings💐

BlueSapphire Tue 09-Apr-24 07:31:17

Good morning everyone from a wet Northampton, it would rain when I've got a hair appointment, wouldn't it?
That will take up most of the morning, then home for a quick lunch, and then if the rain has stopped, I shall try to join my walking group.

I got most of what I wanted in town yesterday, including two nice tops from Next, which hadn't been an intended buy at all, but will make a nice addition to my holiday wardrobe.

Home-made Bolognese from the freezer for dinner tonight.

May we all have a pleasant day.

Jaxjacky Tue 09-Apr-24 07:36:01

Morning from a windy S Hants, cooler, but dry. The cough lingers, aggravating the hernia I was ignoring, chasing the referral now on my list.
You’ve had a battering gMattie your mojo is rebuilding.
Safe journeys for those travelling.

Morning Mick, morning All from a very windy corner of Somerset.

It’s a medical week here. Good outcome for Mr C yesterday, my turn this afternoon. Hair cut this morning, necessary if not my favourite thing. Coastal flood warnings are in place, very high tides and strong winds in combination.

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 09-Apr-24 07:43:32

Good morning from the South Downs.

Yesterday I lost my beloved terrier - Duncan

dragonfly46 Tue 09-Apr-24 07:49:02

Oh Whitewavemark2 I am so sorry to hear your news flowers

Grandmabatty Tue 09-Apr-24 07:50:02

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and pouring rain. Again. This is the second post I've written as the first one vanished into the ether. Stilllearning safe journey and have a good time with your sister. Sar I saw the effects of the high tide in Mevagissey on twitter. GrandMattie give yourself time to recover.
Yesterday I had a productive day footering about. I got most things done that I wanted to.
Today I will check on dd's house then pick up my prescription (hopefully). I've run out of stuff I need. Apart from that, I have no plans. It looks like the rain is on for a while, so gardening is out. A bit of sewing, knitting and painting perhaps. I'm making a slow cooker pot of chilli which will do for dinner tonight and tomorrow and I'll freeze some too. Have a good day all.
