Good Morning everyone. My first post on here, dry but cold here in runnymead. Am still in bed thinking about what to do for the day ahead.
Lovely time off over the school holidays so appreciating the peace and quiet.
Maybe a walk into town later and then potter around at home catch up with house work.

Morning from sun in S Hampshire, the coastline took a battering yesterday both here and in adjoining counties, awful scenes.

MrJ has now got the dreaded cold bug just as I’m coming out of it, good job I bulk buy tissues.
My brother and his wife are coming for dinner tonight, we’ll play a game or two, so I need to prep this afternoon.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk which I hope will last all day. I haven’t looked at the forecast( so I can’t be disappointed!).

I’m off to my keep fit class and then meeting an old friend for lunch in a cafe in a town a few miles away. The food is delicious,all home made and so you have to book otherwise you’ll be turned away. There is a very sheltered small but dog friendly garden hidden away at the back but we will be dog free and I’m not sure we’ll brave it today.

Baubles, my DIL is back at work after mat. leave and now that her Burrell job is finished, she will be working on the refurbishment project!
She missed the grand opening of the Burrell, because Babydoll decided to put in an early appearance a year ago! 💕

Good morning from N Bucks where it is sunny again.
Yesterdays dental procedure for Rosie (GA to extract a cracked tooth) was postponed at the last minute as some machine had broken down so she was sent home - 15 hours of NBM for nothing! Fortunately they had not done pre meds or started her anaesthetic though.
I had been waiting anxiously at home and when I got the call starting “Rosie is fine but…” my heart was in my mouth.
She’s not in any pain but I hope it can be rescheduled very soon.
So, not much else today, coffee with a friend at our local garden centre then some prep for tomorrow’s Arts Society AGM.

Well I've never been asked that before Gingster. 😂

6oz/three quarters of a cup of PVA glue.
Half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda.
One and a half teaspoons of contact lens solution.
A quarter of a cup of water if you want stretchy slime.
Optional colouring or glitter.

Place glue in a bowl.
Add bicarb and mix.
Add water now if required.
Slowly add lens solution starting with one teaspoon.
Knead.
(We add more water and/or lens solution after kneading but you'll find out what texture you like.)

Good morning all, the sun is starting to rise gloriously at the front of my home here on the east coast of Fife where it’s nice and dry too. I’ve had a restless night feeling a little unwell, thankfully I’m okay now because I’m off out to the bank and Sainsburys today with one of my lovely carers Andi spelt with an I and not a Y.

The sun will shine around the back of my house this afternoon into later evening like it’s been doing for the past couple of nights and it’s really wonderful to see, Spring has come it’ll soon be planting time I do love those double tuber begonias they’ll be going into my garden pots soon.

To those who can, enjoy today you never know what’s coming round the corner

Good morning from a sunny NE, well for now anyway.
Financial adviser arrived ahead of schedule, he had driven north from Leeds, found that the roads were not as busy as anticipated.
His annual report was quite encouraging and we decided no changes needed to be made.
DS and family arrived just after noon and had lunch then DS, DIL and I went shopping. The rain was torrential and we got really soaked.
While I put away the shopping DS went to collect his aunt and bring her here for coffee and cake. GDs showed her photos of holidays and GD2 played the piano. I think she finds teenagers a bit overwhelming, she never had children.
We had an easy dinner, pizzas for the GDs and pasta for the adults, I had made the sauce the night before and we had the rest of salad from lunchtime.
I am going to have an easy day with some reading and TV while I await news of my youngest great nephew who is having an operation at Alder Hey today.

Good morning from Durham. It’s a dry start, but what a day yesterday, with torrential rain and local flooding. DGD2’s nursery building was flooded and parents were asked to collect their little ones asap.
My meter appointment with Octopus has been cancelled, so I’ve an empty, but as I’m getting DD2’s Little Dog later, I might call into Newcastle on the way there.

We both slept in this morning after a late night.
Yesterday evening I had another phone call from the Fraud team at the bank saying that someone had tried to use my already blocked debit card. I'm so glad the bank are on the ball.

Good morning to you all.

Our front garden was finally finished on Saturday afternoon after an extremely challenging Thursday weather wise. We are very pleased and the guys who did the work were very nice indeed.

On Monday we had 5 year old GD all day for the first time since Autumn half term. She is a little harder work than her demonic brother as she wants to be played with and entertained for the whole time she’s with us but she’s so sweet I don’t mind. He is able to entertain himself better. We taught her Headbanz where you wear a head band and insert a card unseen and the wearer has to guess the card by asking questions to which the only answers are yes and no. She also said she wanted to see videos of “the weather which sucks people up” and it took me a while to realise she meant tornados. Yesterday was the turn of the demonic GS but I’m pleased to say he was in an excellent mood especially as it was too we and windy to go out in the morning.

Yesterday waa quiet. I made a large pot of chilli and I'll freeze some today.
I nipped up to check on dd's house and then picked up my prescription.
Today I'm going to Tesco for milk etc for the return of the travellers. They get back tonight and seem to have had a great holiday. I'm glad because they've had a lot to deal with so far this year. Dgs1 won't want to leave Tenerife. I hope I can get into the garden if it stays dry. Have a good day all.

A busy but successful day yesterday and an enjoyable few hours spent with DD2 and family.

I feel tired today and DH is still asleep so I think a day at home is on the cards.Maybe a tip run later.Living the life!

batty,yes, it is a serious safety issue which is why I went round and “reset” all the doors at the time. I have checked several this early morning; they were fine.

MaryDoll I am really struggling with the dreaded steroids this time round, far more so than anytime over the last 60 years.

I shall take myself to the gym after my shower for a very gentle Callanetics class with the added bonus of the relaxation session at the end 😴

Good morning all. It's dry at the moment on the Angus coast - but that's not due to last! Yesterday was horrendous with heavy drenching rain and very gusty wind. One gust hit as I was going out of the back door - I managed to keep hold of the door otherwise it would have smashed back against the wall, and the door kept hold of me otherwise I'd have been catapulted into the rhododendrons! It was one fierce gust, that one.
Today I'm off to meet DGD3 and her boyfriend for lunch in Perth which will make a nice change - and will give me a chance to assess all the new roadworks. The ones in the next town are due to be there for a year or more (a new cycle path). I thought I might take another route but I've just read that roadworks are starting on it too, so I may as well stick with the devil I know!
That was a lovely sunrise grandmattie. I noticed we had a pretty pink sky here at sunset yesterday, but nothing like the ones we used to see.
Mizuna, that pigeon!! I hope he didn't leave his calling card - but he was certainly a handsome fellow.

Grey skies and light showers promised so not much chance of the garden drying out and allowing me to do some much needed weeding. Good thing my standards have dropped!

So another indoor day with books, photographs and old letters I think. When the present is unexciting a visit to the past is a reminder of happier times.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a greyish, brightish Carlisle. Some sort of rain is due at some point but how much and when?! I'm planning a trip out shortly and would like to know...I'll have a coffee first and see what I think.
Yesterday was horrendous, constant heavy rain till the late afternoon and gloomy with it.
I've various little jobs to do if I stay in but I'd prefer to avoid them!

Yes it is the antibiotics Marydoll. There are many different types and strengths and the one I had was very strong and wide spectrum, one which kills all anerobic bacteria ie it goes into the blood stream and affects everywhere, I needed that because my bone was exposed and then enclosed via sutures. I used to have a very healthy microbiome and I know that the minimum time to replace it is two months, maybe longer, in most people it takes a year

Two edged sword, in my case they will have protected me from any nasty bacteria within my bone. I knew that but mouth bacteria can have hugely bad affects on on the heart so I gave in gracefully

Good morning Mick and all from a wet 8°C northwest coast. We have had very high tides here.

Very enjoyable music club yesterday and I was not on the desk as I expected, as one of the other committee members will be away for a few weeks and did a stint in place.
Today to lunchtime recital and if my friend from the music club turns up, we will have coffee and chat (lots of it). He was fined in Lidl car park so may come in on the bus. We don’t like paying for parking if we can help it.

It will be nice to have your OH with you Ash👍 and thoughts to all with worries.
