Arthritic thumbs.

You probably need anti-inflammatories, Mizuna, but with your lung conditions, a doctor would need to prescribe and monitor

My thumbs are permantly swollen and painful and I use 10% Ibruprofen gel, which is only available on prescription.

Heat or ice packs will also help with the swelling and pain.

I've had sore thumbs for a while with arthritis but suddenly my right one has become extremely painful. I've tried Ibuprofen gel and have a velcro wrist strap and I know I can go to my doctor about it but before I go down that route I wondered if anyone else is suffering and what you do to alleviate it? I found some exercises online which do help a little. Also playing my piano relieves it, but not for long.
