Good morning from a dull, but not raining Black Country!

It rained all morning and into afternoon yesterday. Mum and I went to lunch, then into town so she could have her hearing aid tubes changed in Spec Savers. DS popped out of work for a short while to have a coffee with us.

Today is my Thursday Walk & Talk group. We are going along the canal today, then coffee and chat when we finish.

Good morning all and it’s overcast but dry here on the Suffolk coast.

Yesterday we walked in the forest and the bluebells were just showing their heads, pretty blossom on trees and one rhododendron bush in flower. So beautiful!

We bought paint and brushes for our sons working weekend up here. Lots to do but it should be fun. I’ve booked the Saturday evening carvery at the local pub. One of the best around!

Today I’m meeting Liberty for a coffee at Dunwich which will be lovely 👍.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. A lovely day out yesterday to Ightham Mote with DD2 and GC. The sun was out and the house as beautiful as ever. This morning the gardener is coming and then I have to go to Bluewater to stock up on a few bits.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is out!
The builder got the frame around the front door off yesterday afternoon. It was really rotten in places. It’s on the north side of the house so only gets the smallest amount of sunshine in the summer evenings. Today begins the rebuild so a fine day is very welcome.
I am going out for coffee this morning then will do some gardening.

Good morning from a dry dulling Suffolk which feels warm,at least indoors.

Wonderful news for Ash so life can continue as normal and for gM too. Hoping that others with health worries can get such positive news soon.

I’m looking forward to meeting up with Gingster after my stretch class this morning. It doesn’t seem like more than 6 months since we met before.

I had a lovely chatty lunch with a friend yesterday. We were still in the cafe when people were arriving for afternoon tea.

Morning all, I have slept late today it must have been due to the exceptionally busy if unexpected day of childcare yesterday.

It’s very grey here in S E Essex, I shall potter until I take our GD to gymnastics later this afternoon (she goes to the Essex club which has produced some Olympians)

My sister and I will have a wander around Glasgow today which will include a visit to a National Trust property. We’ll have a late lunch at my favourite Italian restaurant before I see her on to her train back to London.

Yarn group this evening followed by an early night I think.

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where its already 12°C.

Lots of good news this morning and some very happy grans.

Yesterday was unexpectedly busy. A purse had been found at the cemetery Mass on Sunday, but the owner hadn't come to ask about it, despite announcements.
It contained three bank cards, a driving licence and other important items. The owner lived about twenty minutes away, so I offered to deliver it. I would have been frantic at losing all those cards.
The bonus was that it was five minutes from Babydoll's home. Not surprisingly, DH offered to accompany me.
We received the biggest of smiles from her, when she saw it was us. 😍

I am struggling with joint pain after all my busyness, so not much planned for today, apart from some church admin, which I had forgotten about.

A dry & breezy day forecast here in Sefton although it is still damp underfoot. The washing is on🤞. The bread 'cooked' overnight & is now cooling down. I have returned to my 'pit' with a cuppa. I will get up properly shortly & change the bedding. With any luck I can get that washed & dried today. No other plans for today apart from a Zumba class this morning & picking up some bits & pieces from our very local supermarket on the way home.
Great news for our (newly) seeing & hearing grans Ash & gMattie. What a relief for you both.

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright and breezy Carlisle.
I went out for a little trip yesterday. Naturally, it started raining part way! Fortunately my visit was inside mainly...I went to Holm Cultram Abbey, and when I came out I had a brief period between showers to view the exterior . The Abbey dates from 1151 and was founded by King David of Scotland when we were part of that country. Only the church remains now but it was once a rich and influential Cistercian monastery. I wouldn't envy the monks their winters, the wind howling over the salt marshes...
Home to snug up inside out of the chilly frequent showers.

Today the ironing beckons and that's all that will get done as I'm frazzled after a poor night's sleep.

I'm really pleased for you Ash, it's one thing to voluntarily give up driving and quite another to have the decision unexpectedly thrust upon you.

Is your roofer a competent and thus sought after one, Grammaretto? Which is why he's not turning up? You sound like you should be an urgent case.

Good morning from Durham. It seems dry and sunny!
My drive to get Little Dog yesterday took 2 hours, instead of 30minutes, due to an incident - I wasn’t happy, but at least I managed to see both DGSs.
Coffee this morning with a friend, then DD2’s laundry to tackle and a walk with Little Dog later.
Ash absolutely delighted with your news - what a result and for gM too.
I need someone to sort out the rotten, decorative wood on my house - I’ve been let down by an Alan and a David - it’s a Lee next!

And talking bluebells, I have only seen the invading Spanish bluebell in Bristol. In Kent, Itwas mainly the much more beautiful and delicate English variety, with their arching stems.

Good morning from a dry I can see some blue sky Cambridgeshire. Just been reading all the posts this morning and some good positive news and sending best wishes to those struggling. Hoping today will be a good one for all x. It is my Dgd2 10th birthday and we have been summoned to visit at 10 am😂 I have made her birthday cake and we have some surprises for her. We enjoyed a lovely day out with them yesterday even tho the weather wasn’t kind we had lots of laughs and a picnic in the car! We then enjoyed an early evening meal in a cosy local pub! We only have until 1.30 pm today and then she and her little brother depart to spend the rest of her birthday with daddy. Birthdays can be hard but we pull together and enjoy what we have.

Morning from from near Aberdeen (I can’t remember the name of the village and I’m reluctant to move and disturb my sister’s puppy or the day will begin and I’m still a bit tired!)
Lovely wee dog (a schnocker?) but very excitable.

I’m enjoying my visit here but the weather has been horrible so I’m staying on another day as we are promised a dry sunny one. Here’s hoping, it certainly looks promising.
I think we’re going to visit Inverurie and possible a garden centre which has lovely food👏🙂!

Home by four hour bus journey early tomorrow and out tomorrow evening so hopefully a quiet weekend beckons.

A lovely evening was had with my brother and his wife, their house renovating and appreciated hot food in a warm place, they had been warned we have germs.

Was going to have a lazy day yesterday but when I went to read my emails I found one from Experian so I spent the day scanning my computer and doing other security things.
Yesterday evening I started watching Clocking off, I don't know how I missed it first time round.
Today will be a day of general tidying up and then some TV.

Good morning, Mick and all. The sun is shining through the clouds here in East Lothian. Yesterday was wet until mid-afternoon. I cheered myself up by making a tray of millionaire shortbread. When cutting it up later I had to ‘tidy’ all the crumbs and the caramel stuck to the edges of the tin - it was yummy!

I am planning to continue the gardening I started yesterday at DD’s. Unfortunately the back fence has partly collapsed and will have to be fixed before any more planting can be done. The posts are on the neighbours side. The neighbour (not next door but round the corner with the corner house in between) installed an electric wire along the fence to keep the cats out (only one cat belonged to DD) and last year DD got a nasty shock from it while cutting back some over growing plants. DSiL went round to complain and it has been turned off since but DD is nervous of going round to discuss the fence.

The boys are on the second day of their course which is not sailing, as I thought, but speed boats. They had a good time yesterday.

Lovely to have such a positive start to the day and I rejoice with gMattie and Ashcombe - so nice to have good news. Another day of wading through paper in DH’s study which I have forced myself to tackle at last. There are literally hundreds of books which nobody will want. I foresee the need for a skip at some point.

Lovely day yesterday as after the lunchtime recital, which I didn’t much enjoy, my friend from the music club and I went for coffee and a bite at what is becoming our usual place and talked until nearly 5! I kicked myself and phoned to apologise later as he had come in on the bus after being fined recently and I floated off to my car without offering him a lift. What was I thinking? So selfish and he’s twisted his ankle…

Today more hanging about on the phone for appointments 🙄
and housework.
