Good Morning Thursday 11th April 2024
(56 Posts)Good morning Mick and all to follow from Shropshire. Finally a dry day is forecast.
I agree that there seem to have been a lot of price rises the last few weeks Mick.
My cousin and her family are on holiday near here so we are meeting up today.DD has offered to host us all for lunch.
Have the best day you can everyone 🦩
Good morning Mick from a dry north Wales coast where I’ve been up since sparrowfart due to Mr PG’s coughing- this dreaded lurgy is taking its time to depart 😮💨 and I’m fighting valiantly in the hope that I don’t succumb 🤞
The great winter/summer duvet changeover is programmed for today, a little earlier than normal but it’s promised sunshine 🌞 for me to air and kill any little blighters that escape my weekly attacks!
Glad to see Old Dudders is back Ash and hope he’s donning his chauffeur cap while you get that inconvenience sorted!
Will pop along later to read the latest but in the meantime 💐 to all in the sick bay x
Good morning it’s still dark outside but we are supposed to have 3 dry days, not sure about any sun though.
Today we have some fencing arriving, next door has another rescue dog and it is trying to burrow under our fence to get at MissOops dog who is busy trying to dig out on our side to get to him. Our theory is that if we can keep her away from the fencing the problem will be solved. We shall see.
When we erected the fencing around the garden there weren’t any dogs living next door, it was so peaceful…….. anyway with 3 dogs next door it’s becoming a bit of a noisy, muddy problem,
We will attach it to the hedge that is in front of the fencing so that dog can’t get behind it. MrOops will be busy, I’m too dizzy to help.
Apart from that another nothing day, which is a pain.
Hope everyone has a good dry day.
Good morning from Malta where it looks like another fine day with a bit of a breeze.
I’ve just arrived to watch the boys and they are both still asleep. It’s my long day today so hopefully I’ll be able to take them out if the weather stays nice. It’s not easy heaving a double buggy out of the house and the pavements here leave a lot to be desired but they love to be out and about.
Have a good day all.☀️
Good morning all from a still darkish North Leicestershire.
Up even earlier this morning as the car needs something doing to the brakes and Dh has booked it in at 8 am. I will just pootle and faff as I am pretty tired after yesterday's Carer course which was pretty intense.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from a calm and dry Torbay.
Having resigned myself to giving up driving, I received unexpected wonderful news at the hospital yesterday: my field of vision has improved sufficiently since January for me to continue to drive! I am going to be using drops for glaucoma, which my optician had suspected when she referred me to the clinic back in the Autumn!
As you may imagine, DH and I are delighted as it enables me to continue to drive, both here and in France, besides being involved in my local theatre and do my own shopping! We celebrated with a bottle of fizz with dinner last night.
Thank you to you all for your support over this in recent months, both on this thread and in private messages. You've all been very kind and thoughtful. It’s what I value about being on Gransnet.
Enjoy your lunch, Susan56! Have a good (fine!) day with the boys, Bellasnana!
I hope your DH's cough soon clears, Pantglas2, and the dogs can be contained, Oopsadaisy1!
Wishing you a good day, whatever you’re doing. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Hurray! Delighted for you Ashcombe, that’s the best news! Even though you were being very courageous about it I’m so happy for you that you are still able to drive.💐
Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy, damp corner of Somerset.
Another pottering day ahead here. See how the day goes
That is wonderful news ash. Delighted for you.
Hope Thursday is kind to us all.
Good morning from a drizzly, very mild Cornwall, where I've woken from a vivid dream in which my doctor was saying, 'Oh sorry Mrs M, we forgot to book your knee replacement so you'll have to wait even longer.' Aaaaargh! Anyway, back to reality and this morning I'm off to the library in another town to plan the origami demonstration I'm giving next week.
My granddaughter was exhausted yesterday after a previous late night so we just sat around and chatted. She did manage a bit of cross stitch which she's learned at school. She came bearing her dad's spirit level which was almost as tall as her!
Yippee Ash!!!!!!!!
Late good morning from a muzzle Bristol. Oh, how I’m tired of this drab weather, roll on warmth and light.
My elder sister, who died in January, would have been 78 today.
Ash, I can’t tell you how happy I am for you. Getting independence back is fantastic! All the things you can do now… 🥳🥂
My appointment at the audiology department went well. I went through a whole load of tests and retests. My right eardrum went from immobile to moving almost as well as the left. My hearing is now balanced and in stereo. I am discharged. I mortified the poor young consultant by offering to hug him 🤣
Just tai chi today.
Have a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Thrilled for you, Ash 👏
Good morning from a grey but dry Colchester. Forecast to reach 19° today.
DH and DGS1 went fishing at stupid o'clock, so I have an empty. I'll change our bed and get to the bottom of the laundry and ironing baskets. I recently bought a lightweight coverless duvet which washes and dries quickly so is fresh every week. It'll soon be time for us to swap to our Summer bedding arrangement which is a 3 tog single duvet for me and a sheet for DH who is a hot man!!
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, but the forecast is for dry weather today, so I have already got a load of washing on.
My gardener did not arrive until 10 am yesterday, with the result that he didn't get the booked 6 hours in before the rain arrived. So the garden is only really half done - and he can't fit me in again until mid May! Not happy to say the least - will have to go out there and cut back an enormous buddleia, and prune the roses, as they won't wait that long. The rest of the work he did was fine; I think he vastly under-estimated the time it would take.
Am expecting the fence men today to replace a section of fence that is crumbling away behind the pergola.
Ash, such good news for you!
Spicy pork casserole from the freezer, and baked or new potatoes and veg for dinner tonight.
May we all have a.good day.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry and bright, even the sun is coming out but it still look windy
That’s really good news Ash so pleased for you😀
Also great news for you gMattie too, so pleased things are sorted!
You’re brave Pantglas with the early duvet switch, another few weeks to wait up here ..
I’m hoping to be out in the garden this morning and later on I am meeting up with my friend for a walk and then a coffee afterwards
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Ash brilliant news, so pleased for you💃🏻🥂🍾
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's cloudy and windy but dry.
The roofer didn't come and it rained most of the day, though the gardener managed to mow the grass.
The pottery class went well.
Yoga this morning and the filmmakers return today and tomorrow.
It's good to know that gMattie can hear and that Ash can see again. 🥂🍾
Enjoy your family lunch Susan
Wishing everyone a happy day.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and windy. It's a bit damp too. Ash that's good news for you. GrandMattie and good news for you too. It's lovely to start the morning with good news. Bellasnana enjoy your day with the boys.
Yesterday was a quiet day. A trip to Aldi for food for dd, dsil and the boys. They got home about nine o'clock last night and were freezing after the heat of Tenerife.
Today I hope do some gardening. The garden bin is emptied tomorrow and I like to get my money's worth 😂. I have to pay for a permit for the pleasure. I expect I'll see the family at some point too. Have a nice day everyone.
🤣🤣🤣 I’ve only just noticed - one of us can see, one of us can hear; anyone who can now speak? 😂😂😂
Good morning all it’s nice and dry but windy here on the east coast of Fife.
What an exciting day yesterday when my dd her husband two gc and 2 gorgeous retrievers came for a visit we had a lovely time. My sil put a new photograph on the wall with various photos of my gc it looks fabulous.
I’m getting a visit today from the local clergy he’s so lovely.
Have a good day my friends blessings on everyone of you
Morning all from West Oxfordshire,
Such good news GM and Ash! 🌹
Our decorators who were due to come today can’t come until Monday so I can get on with a bit of baking and housework. OH is hoping to have another test drive.
I’ve now booked two holidays for us. A week in a self catering cottage in Devon and a cruise on the Rhône. Me and our daughter may have a short trip to Helsinki. Somewhere I’ve always wanted to go.
Have a good day.
Good morning from a dreary and wet s somerset
Ash that is the best of news, I am so happy for you
No idea for today but I badly need a walk, otherwise it is pottering for me, I need to restore my messy rooms
A much better nights sleep but all this water made me get up twice. I will have to change that tonight. My sleep has definitely improved, once I dropped off at around midnight.
Have a good day
Good morning, it’s wet here on a hillside in south Glos 🙄
I have a greenhouse to empty today, I want to make a carrot cake and an Ocado shop is coming shortly.
Dd is coming for a few days which will be lovely!
I thought it was supposed to be dry weather today….🤷🏼♀️
Have a lovely day 🌹
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire. The sun is promised but has yet to appear - I just hope it stays dry as the gardener is expected to work on the back garden. GS and I did manage to get out and do a bit of gardening yesterday but the rain came earlier than expected. He is still here so today the plan is to help me to wash my filthy car and then he will cut the front lawn before I take him home as he has a driving lesson this afternoon.
Ash that’s excellent news!
Have the best day you can, folks.
