I know a lady in a ground floor flat and she has the windows open but they have locks so they can only open so far.

Yes, always. Bungalows are also very prone to damp patches on the walls, so need trickle vent on windows even in the Winter.

I have and I did in a previous house. My bedroom in this house is upstairs but I had a bad phase wirth my knee and slept downstairs and yes I had the window open, also when it was VERY hot, the garden door.

Not really but only because we have noisy dogs closeby, however we do have a ceiling fan which we leave on if it’s warm
