Take Care,

Thank you everybody for your kind words and flowers for fellow sufferers. Black Dog it certainly is. But there's always a bright side, and this time it is Wiltshire Farm Foods 😉

Urmstongran Mon 15-Apr-24 13:11:16

Sending you a virtual hug Taichinan. Glad to hear you’re starting to feel more yourself again. I can only imagine how awful the ‘Black Dog’ curse must be for sufferers.

GrannySomerset Mon 15-Apr-24 13:08:03

Fellow sufferer here so my sympathies, Taichainan. Knowing one is comparatively fortunate doesn’t help so it’s more a case of keeping on keeping on until the worst passes.

Susan56 Mon 15-Apr-24 11:57:34

Taichinan I’m sorry that you have been feeling so low.Good to see you feel well enough to post today💐

Grandmabatty Mon 15-Apr-24 11:53:02

Taichinan I'm sorry that you have been down. It's such a curse, isn't it? Scotland is dark for so long, and often grey too, which doesn't help. 💐

Grandmachrisy47 Mon 15-Apr-24 11:45:25

Taichinan my sympathy is with you, you could be describing me. I’m hoping spring and some sunshine will help. 💐

Taichinan Mon 15-Apr-24 11:22:59

Good morning all from a sunny and very windy Angus coast. No sitting out in the warm sun here - that gusty wind is blasting all the 'sit-ooteries' and taking away all the warmth from the sun.
Sorry I've been away. From time to time I become very depressed and just close in on myself. I know I shouldn't be like that as I am physically fit and well - but try telling that to my mind at times such as those! Anyway it has lifted now thank goodness. Nothing that a brain transplant wouldn't cure 😉
Happy Birthday wishes to both Grandmattie and Gala - enjoy your day, both of you.
Ash how lovely to see your little DGD dancing with the English Ballet - I can well understand your pride! And so glad you have been cleared to drive again!
Mizuna I hope you're enjoying your little break away - you are such a resourceful and up-beat lady.
I hope your time in the dentist's chair isn't too bad Bellasnanna - soon be over.
Mick you kept that quiet! Those Wiltshire Farm Foods really are so good! While I was 'down' an offer for '5 meals for £15' came in the post so I ordered them. I've had three so far and they are really tasty. I now have their full catalogue (wow!) and my next order has been put in. Yes, I know it's lazy - I'm more than capable of cooking my own meals - but it's such a pallaver for one person, and my stamina now doesn't extend to big cook-ins for the freezer. (That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it 😉😁)
I had a lovely face time with my (almost) five-month-old great grandson the other day. What a darling he is, and so like his daddy and grandpa. And his grandpa (my DS1) is the image of my grandfather, so it's wonderful to see that likeness passing down through the generations! Living history.
Today lots of little tasks - but it may be that some will wait a little longer 😉. However this cool wind is making me think a pot of leek and potato soup will be just the thing for lunch, so that will be task no 1.
Enjoy all your gardens and trips and workmen today everyone. And enjoy that lovely warm sunshine Pantglas.

Good morning Mick and all from a bright but very gusty northwest coast.
Quite a long day yesterday running through my programme with pianist. We need another couple of rehearsals. After that we enjoyed an excellent roast at his local pub.
I caught the train back and picked up a bag of books etc I had bought in the city halfway on the journey in a pub, very pleased to have them as I left them there weeks ago.
I had two glasses of red wine with our meal and as I don’t drink now, I feel the effects🙄

Happy birthday to the birthday girls and thoughts to all with troubles 🌺

Good Morning , the sun is shining, making the raindrops on the plants shine like fairy lights
Nothing on today , we might take a trip to Lakeland to find out what we didn’t know we desperately needed 😁
Happy Birthday to the Birthday ladies

Grandmachrisy47 Mon 15-Apr-24 09:09:07

Happy Birthday, Gala. Have a good one.

harrigran Mon 15-Apr-24 09:07:10

Good morning from a very windy NE after overnight torrential rain.
Quiet day yesterday with no contact from anyone.
Today I will do some laundry but it will not be going on the line, can't cope with wind.
Happy Birthday grandMattie and Gala flowers
Glad you enjoyed the ballet Ashcombe.
Have a good day all.

We have two builders here, they are in the process of covering all of the flooring in hall stairs and landing which is rather a puzzle as the hall floor is coming up 🤷‍♀️

It doesn’t seem like only five and a half years we had all this work done (unsuccessfully). I do remember threatening the stragglers that they would be wearing fairy lights if they were still here the second week of December 🤣

GrannyGravy13 Mon 15-Apr-24 08:54:44

Happy Birthday Gala 🎂🎉🥂

LauraNorderr Mon 15-Apr-24 08:51:45

Good morning Mick. Good morning All from a cloudy West Cheshire.
Very happy birthday 🥳 grandMattie wishing you a lovely day full of fun and laughter, cuddles and cake.
Same to you Gala, hope it’s a good ‘un.
I’ll take some of that sunshine Pant and happily exchange for some overnight rain.
Off to Chester in a mo for a bit of a wander along the Roman walls followed by lunch at a canal side pub.
Wishing you all the best of days

Happy birthday Gala 🎂🎉🎁

GrannySomerset Mon 15-Apr-24 08:47:56

Birthday greetings togMattie and Gala on a wild and wet morning. I thought two days without rain was too good to be true and sure enough, the blossom is being torn from the branches and petals hurled against the windows. I am out to breakfast shortly with a group of ladies who normally lunch so must make an effort to look appropriate. Hope the day is good for everyone.

EkwaNimitee Mon 15-Apr-24 08:47:01

Good morning Mick and everyone from showery Carlisle where it's also a tad cooler.
I was outside yesterday afternoon sorting out a corner of the gravel garden. I'd planted a pretty prostrate creeping alpine in it some time ago and it's proved to be aggressively invasive. It's been heading in all directions including towards my veggie patch, the gravel is no hindrance to it. I sprayed it a while back and it soon looked well and truly dead but I went out yesterday morning to see green shoots sprouting all over! So I've been digging out earth and gravel and removing weed control fabric. It just roots through the latter and travels underneath it until it can poke its head up somewhere! I have painstakingly removed every last visible vestige of it, the plant has gone in my green bin and I have a sackful of soil and gravel which I daren't spread elsewhere in case I've missed a bit. Hopefully I can dispose of it at the tip.
Today, laundry and cleaning in the morning, reading my book and magazines in the afternoon.

Happy Birthdays to you both grandMattie and Gala.

And have the best possible day everyone.

RosiesMaw Mon 15-Apr-24 08:41:20

Good morning from N Bucks where normal service ☔️☔️☔️💨💨💨and just now a huge clap of thunder, has resumed.
Still, Spring was nice while it lasted.
Arts Society committee meeting this morning and Art History this afternoon. I’ll do the latter on Zoom as I don’t like to leave Rosie all day .
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 15-Apr-24 08:41:02

Good morning Mick and everyone, it’s pelting down with rain and very windy here.
Happy birthday GM and Gala hope you both have a lovely day.
I have lots to do indoors today before we go to Cornwall tomorrow, once my head stops wobbling, usually around 11ish, I will start.
Goodness the rain is absolutely shocking, glad I don’t have to go out in it.
New fencing is due to arrive whilst we are away, MissOops will be here and see it in. Plastic coated wire, I knew MrOops would see sense eventually.
Have a good day everyone, stay dry.

Beechnut Mon 15-Apr-24 08:37:09

A very Happy Birthday to you Gala 🎂🎉

cornergran Mon 15-Apr-24 08:36:40

Morning Mick, morning All. Normal service has resumed in our corner of Somerset. Wind howling and rain beating on the bedroom window. It’s cold too.

Lunch was excellent yesterday. Once home I enjoyed pottering outside while Mr C engaged in battle with a new jigsaw, a Christmas gift. While understanding the kind thoughts behind the gift it seems it will be difficult to do. Oh well, keeps him quiet. A long call came from a hugely distressed goddaughter early evening, an odd situation, I’m not sure what to make of it. I’m sure more calls will clarify in time

Another pottering day ahead, definitely indoors though

Happy birthday to gala and grandmattie. Enjoy your days.

Hope Monday is kind to us all,
