Good Morning Monday 15th April 2024

Good morning, it was dry here two hours ago but I haven’t looked outside again so might well be wet by now. The forecast is heavy rain 🙄
Yesterday was cooler than Saturday but still pleasant. DD and DH walked the dogs, we enjoyed a roast dinner and then they spent most of the afternoon cleaning her car.
Today DD is going home after lunch, it’s been lovely having her.
I am going to sort out all my needlework bits today, I need to get it all in one place rather than scattered around various cupboards. Most of it I was given by various people and I will probably give much of it away I think.

Good morning from a windy Bristol. We are promised a one degree increase in temperature today, from 9 to 10!
I am 76 today and had a lovely party yesterday; DGD and I are “twins”. The in-laws had been for a previous party on Friday, so we were just us, which was lovely.
I was delighted to be given a whole set of tools as I have none, and Iris insisted on giving me a souvenir of a blue “evil eye” magnet for my fridge.
On my way to the house, I realised that I had mislaid my “light glasses” and had the ignominy of wearing dark glasses all day. The congregation must have thought I had a hangover 😵. Chance would be a fine thing! During this time,I’m checked my phone and a resident posted that a pair of glasses had been found on the lawn, mine! They must have fallen out of my pocket as I rushed for the bus…
Today, apart from supermarket and WI, I’ve invite a neighbour to dinner, she doesn’t know it’s my birthday - I don’t like a fuss.

Good morning from s somerset. Raining for a while and strong winds all day

Pottering again today and I will be putting my baby plants back into my mini glass greenhouse as soon as it is light. In and out with them at the moment. Bumblebees had a frantic day yesterday, there is so much fruit blossom and the gooseberries have already set fruit. It is if the season is moving forward fast right now. My old farmer friend used to say that the seasons always caught up with themselves

Arrived safe, sound and straight to bed Saturday after meeting friends at the airport and a busy day getting mi Casa sorted with outdoor seating etc ready for some 🍹 🍹later this week🥳

Glad to see Miss Marydoll and Mizuna getting out and about and that Lemon delight made my mouth water Bonnybanko 😋

A major food restock is necessary today although we do eat out a lot more over here as it’s so cheap and different- I never tire of tapas and they don’t over face me like larger portions seem to these days!

Yesterday dd came round with the boys for a while. I got an especially long hug from dgs2 who I hadn't seen since before his holiday. Later I visited mum who was able to chat for a wee while.
Today is early childcare day. It'll be a bit longer on a Monday from now on because dgs1 starts football training today. He has new football boots and a tracksuit all ready. His dad will take him and DD will pick up dgs2 on her way home. I expect I'll be ready for bed by then! Have a good day all

Just arrived at DD3’s to find both boys up and playing with their new work bench which was a birthday gift from another set of twins! Lots of little wooden tools and bits and pieces to keep track of and prevent the dog from chewing!

This afternoon I have round 2 of my root treatment at the dentist to look forward to. Another hour and a half with my mouth wide open. Actually, the bit I really dislike is the numbness caused by the injection. It took five hours to wear off last time.☹️

After lunch I’m driving up to Kew where I’ll stay overnight at my son’s. In the morning I’ll take granddaughter to school and then drive home! Elder son has an army week away (he’s a reservist in the Intelligence Corp) and his partner works early and late hours teaching fitness.

Good morning from a wet and windy South Downs.

Yesterday we had a stroll along Goring seafront, which being Sunday was busy with everyone enjoying the sun. We took a flask and sandwiches. After we drove up the A24 and then to my daughters for a cup of tea a chat and listening to one of our grandsons and his post university new job. That involves (at the moment) work on RAF fighter planes (he is training at the moment) “I can’t tell you much really Gran, as it is top secret”😄.
Later returned home and son phoned for his usual hour long chat. They had spent a few days in the New Forest. Still very wet everywhere.

Today I’m going to change the winter duvet for the summer one - so be sure it will now get colder!

Later we are off to the cinema - Olivia Colman and Timothy Spall in “Wicked Little Letters”

Good morning from a wet and windy Crewe where we've spent the weekend with DD, DSiL, DGS2 and DGD.

On Saturday evening we had a wonderful time watching DGD dance with English Youth Ballet in The Sleeping Beauty. Thank you for the kind comments on Friday. There were lots of proud parents and grandparents, etc in the audience at The Regent in Hanley, besides other supporters, including dance teachers. DGD didn’t disappoint and found it hard to wind down afterwards. Yesterday we enjoyed a relaxing family time and are travelling home today.

Good morning from my hotel bed in a very windy, wet Cornwall. It was so odd having a day of doing nothing yesterday and strange not being out on my patio now. Watched clouds flying past and the sunset from my room, which I can't do at home due to all the trees around my flat. Today I'll have a big English breakfast and then battle the weather to the bus stop to catch the Newquay bus, then home later.

Yesterday we met DD and SIL at Ironbridge to return DGS1.We had an explore and then they treated us to coffee and cake before I drove the new car home.The joy of an automatic car!

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 5°C .

I have had a particularly bad night, due pain. However, DH is doing the school run and Dollie is coming for breakfast. She is of course, expecting home made Scotch pancakes, 😊
I may be making them in my pyjamas, I am so weary!
Papa has drawn the short straw. The road to the school has been closed due to major road works, so they have quite a trek and parking in surrounding streets prohibited. I forsee acomplaints about very tired, wee legs! 😂

Yesterday, I drove to Mass as that Mmass is very busy and parking at a premium, but being a local parish worthy 😉, I have a parking space at the presbytery..
I gave DH my keys to go and wait for me, as I had a couple of tasks to do at the end of Mass. I got to the car and he was nowhere to be seen. I eventually tracked him down at the parish coffee morning, sitting with Dollie and her parents.
He has never been to a coffee morning in his entire life! 😂
An elderly parishioner called me over to say that they had been wondering, who that strange man was and then eventually realised it was Mr MD. 😂
DH frequents Saturday Vigil Mass, and the Sunday parishioners never see him with me. I'm sure they thought I was a single granny! 😂

Good morning from a breezy Colchester. Cloudy, damp and 11° is today's forecast. 10 degrees cooler than Saturday!
After being out in the chilly wind most of yesterday I am mostly indoors today. Usual Monday house reset after DS returns to base. Back to drying laundry indoors though.

Good morning all from the wet Scottish Borders. The dehumidifier's tank is full again and no chance of the roofer coming back today.

I was treated to a wonderful concert by the Edinburgh youth orchestra yesterday. DGD #3 plays the flute.

We watched Wonka at the community cinema last night. A nice gentle film unlike the dark humour of Roald Dahl on which it's based.

Today I have a chest X-ray in Edinburgh so lots of bus journeys.

Good morning all and the weather here has changed, yet , here on the Suffolk coast.

We were very lucky at the weekend with beautiful warm sun , no rain or wind . Both boys arrived Friday evening and worked hard all day Saturday and half of Sunday. Painting the large summerhouse, sheds and mowing the lawns with only ‘pushers’ as our sit upon has broken down. They cleared encroaching tall weeds and scythed down the steps to the beach. They had a dip in the sea (🥶) and then we had a delicious carvery at our local.

We were shattered after they left and I had a nap in the summerhouse while Dh watched the ladies football.

We are returning to Essex today (always windy when we go over the Orwell Bridge ) 🫣.

We’ll be back in a couple of weeks as the mower has to be picked up and repaired. Also our old MG (same age as me) has to go in to have things done to it. .

I’m expecting the roofer this morning to put the lead work on the new door surround and the two bay windows. I hope it’s dry enough and the expected high winds don’t disrupt the job.
