I remember years ago when I used to take shorthand dictation, I was never very good at it and made most of it up so when it came to reading it back I hadn't got a clue what I'd written but the experienced secretary who work opposite me could always read it!

That’s quite funny,my husband just had a test (driving,he’s going to be 80)& one of the things he had to do was say how many things beginning with F he could in a short time,he must have missed that one !

36LovesBach Hilarious 😂
16Kateykrunch Glad you got sorted. Hubby had a go and it baffled him too!

Isn't this maddening? I couldn't decide why I had written 'scream' on my shopping list - when I got home I realised it was 'salad cream'. Years ago at work a colleague brought me a memo I had hand written (before the days of email) and asked me what the last sentence was. Sadly, I couldn't read it either, and from that point I typed everything.

Could it be prongs, as in kitchen/toast prongs?

Or possibly a substitute swear word for when I forget something eg 'Oh Frongs, where are my keys!'😄

Namsnanny Tue 16-Apr-24 12:09:34

I've enjoyed reading this thread Katiekrunch😄 and all the contributors.
Forthwith I shall use your lovely word frongs for a lapse in memory. So much better than senior moment.

welbeck Mon 15-Apr-24 19:43:11

anyway, glad the riddle of the frong has been solved.
take care.

welbeck Mon 15-Apr-24 19:41:27

from your script, the formation of esp the letter r, i never saw when i was at school.
i have since noticed younger people do it.
i presume through using a ball-point pen, there is no vestigial distinction between up strokes and down strokes.

Callistemon…Oh my, no Toads, I hope.
Mizuna… There you go, now you know.
BlueBell. How rude, (I’m joking) but I’m a double mastecomy!! and wear biiiggggg knicks lol.
Welbeck….I’m not going to watch that, too scarey!!, but wonder what you mean about me being younger that you??
Keepingquiet…yes, can clearly type, but can clearly not remember as I often text myself things to remember but forget to look, no hope lol.
Thanks all for the input and giggle x
