Good Morning Wednesday April 17th 2024
(53 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight and clear sky at the moment here in brackley and of course its dry.
My usual routine with buses etc , see if I see anymore former workmates .
Then its a dose of cycling on TV this afternoon .
Take Care,
Mick
harrigran we have received our jab invitation as well, type in nearest place which is 1.5miles away the only problem is the Thames is in between!!
Have a happy time Glesca grans
Have a lovely day everyone, I had written a message but it’s disappeared into the ether! I’m currently on a train to London. Eventually I’ll be at the RA for A Nordic Study Day.
Happy Anniversary to you and your DH Oops.
Enjoy your get together Glesca Grannies.
All you lucky folk on holiday have a wonderful time!
Just popped in to wish the Glesca Grans a happy meet up.
As expected, setting up new phone wasn’t as easy as dd2 predicted. I’ve lost WhatsApp and pairing to watch. Also have to re- sign in to many apps. Of course I’ve forgotten most of them. Hey ho, I’m not as savvy as I used to be.
I’ll go back and read your posts later. Sainsbury’s delivery due shortly.
Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 8°.
The boiler was fixed yesterday, the house is now lovely and warm, showers have been taken. Life is good
Today I’ll be catching up with laundry, usual physio and an afternoon walk.
Have a good day whatever you’re doing 🌹
Getting the best of the day just now as the inevitable rain is likely later on. My blossom filled garden is at its very best despite the vicious wind so must make the most of its brief glory. Singing this afternoon will be enjoyable but nothing else in the diary but will think of the Glasgow grannies and wonder if I will be able to hear the laughter here in Somerset!
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but chilly Carlisle.
No showers yesterday till dinnertime so on a sunny afternoon I got out to give the front lawn the first mow of the season. Such a lot of moss even after scarifying a few weeks ago, this wet winter has greatly encouraged it.
Afterwards, coffee and cake and the booking of an autumn holiday...Costa Rica which should be warm although it will still be the rainy season. That's nothing if you've lived in Cumbria for decades, at least it will be warm rain!
Today, pottering about with odd jobs and catching up with admin. All whilst awaiting the arrival of the landscapers who are going to cover the gaps in my palisade style side fence on one side, partly to make my patio area private and partly to hide the sight of me from the aggressive dogs next door.
Happy holidays and meet ups!!
Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is shining but it’s windy.
I’m going to do some power washing today then make a start on sorting the garages. Everywhere has a film of dust after the door frame and paths have been done.
Harlow Carr was chilly yesterday but it was good to see lots of progress in the new paths and planting.
Enjoy the meet up in Glasgow.
Have a good day everyone.
Sorry got the wrong Blue off cruising!
BlueSapphire enjoy!
Another sunny morning in N Bucks, good morning all. We had some lively weather yesterday, hailstorms and thunder included so I’m hoping today stays fair as I am driving up to J16 to the Hotel Chocolat cafe and shop to meet D1. Hot chocolate might feature- it’s certainly nippy enough out!
New spex yesterday and I am very happy with them, similar frames to the last pair but bright blue. Eye watering price though - and that’s principally the lenses, but as I wear them 365 days a year the cost per wear is justified- and you don’t mess with your eyesight when it comes to the quality of the lenses.
But with £800 for Rosie last week, now this and paying the balance on my Arts Society holiday in June, it is turning out to be one of those months!
Wishing you all a pleasant day, enjoyable meet up to the Weejies and an enjoyable cruise @ BlueSapphire
Good morning “Good Morning’ers”.
Just want to wish Marydoll and all who are meeting her today a great time at the Glesca Grans meet-up. 🫖 ☕️ 👩🏻🦰👱👱♀️👩🦱👩👧👩🏻🦳.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I was very late home last night after the theatre (excellent!) I missed the last bus by 2 minutes but was looking at the board when someone I hardly know, called my name. Would you like a lift? We caught her bus and her DH came to meet us. It was pouring with rain so weren't we lucky.
I'm not holding my breath but the water buckets were dry after the roofer's visit.
🙏
I'm looking forward to seeing the Glesga Grans again later on..
Enjoy your holidays and anniversaries everyone.
Good morning from a dry NE, for the present, it is still windy and only about 2 degrees. The heating has been on most of the night.
My friend is taking me shopping today but her car has major problems so her DH said he will take us, he got a new car yesterday which is much bigger than friend's car.
I had an email telling me to book my covid vaccination, the venues are never close by so takes some organisation.
Happy anniversary to the Oops.
Have an enjoyable cruise bluesapphire.
Have a great meet up Glasgow grans.
Good morning everyone from Severnside.
Happy Anniversary Mr&MrsOops 🥂💐
I love my sm led bulb karma. So much better than the old one.
Have a good day all with travels and meet ups.
Grandmabatty, there is a door, which is opposite the bus station. I plan to go out of the backdoor of J.L. and in that way. Looking forward to seeing you.
Enjoy your cruise BlueSaphire 🚢
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and dry. Blooming cold though! Ash I despise bullies. My first boss as a teacher was one such and he made our lives a misery for years. Corner I hope you are ok. 💐
Yesterday was a lovely day with dgs2. We went for a walk and played in the garden. His vocabulary has exploded and I noticed he repeated what I said right away. He's so proud of his new words. Dgs1 is a whirlwind of energy.
Today is a Glasgow day to meet up with the other grans. They are a lovely bunch of women and I'm looking forward to it. Marydoll I've often wondered about another way in because those steps are vertiginous! Anyway, a wee trip to Glasgow and back will fill my day nicely. Have a good day all.
Morning from a bright, sunny S Hants, the plasterer came at 7:35, due at 8, we were just up!
Today I have a U3A meeting later, not sure about the speaker, I’ll reserve judgment.
MrJ is still floored by this nasty cough/cold, it really is a nasty one.
Happy cruising Bluebelle, you’ve a lovely day to set off up the Solent.
Happy Anniversary Oops 🎂🎉🥂
🦩🦩
Morning all from Bellshill (just outside Glasgow) where I stayed over with one of my lifelong friends after a get together with the siblings and their husbands of our ‘best pal’ who died eight years ago.
They always met up on a regular basis (8 sisters) and sometimes I joined them but since Helen’s death they have generously included the two of us.
It’s wonderful to keep that strong link.
So, back into Glasgow this morning for our Gransnet get together, I’m so looking forward to that too!
Enjoy your holiday BlueSaphire and do send some sunshine over here Pantglas, I could handle having to wear a cardigan at night!!
Wishing everyone the best day possible, always thinking about those of us with burdens to bear.
Good morning from a sunny but chilly Suffolk. I have a Teams meeting today but only for 2 hours so there was less reading to do yesterday than when the monthly meeting lasts all day.
I hope that the rain stays away so I can get into the garden this afternoon. I need to feed the roses and plant a few plants I bought from the country market on Saturday.
Hope the Glesca Grannys meet up is fun and you don’t end up with a sore throat after all your chatting and laughter as I did after my lunch with friends on Monday.
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast. Sunny but still feels chilly.
Music club went well but I wish I didn’t drop off to sleep in a chair watching tv in the evening…
Vivid dreams last night and some of then very pleasant.
Gardener coming today and I must carry on my prep for my recital on Friday. My pianist is coming tonight for a run through. I have chicken in a garlic sauce and he will stay over as he lives over fifty miles away.
Happy cruising Bluesapphire, happy anniversary to the Oops and thoughts to all with worries 🌺
Good morning all and it’s another bright, chilly start.
Dh is going fishing and Dd will come here for coffee and chat. I haven’t seen her for over a week so will see how things are going with her 🤞.
Annoying for you GM . Can you find a nearer Tai Chi group?
GG I hope the meeting with the ‘Boss’ goes well. 🤞. Enjoy your lunch.
Ash - hate bullies. There’s always one isn’t there, wherever you go.
Glesca grans have a lovely catch-up.
Brook you have a long journey to meet them.
I hope all our days are good ones.🌷
Good morning from a bright W Kent. A quiet day today I think plenty of ironing to keep me busy plus a bit of shopping.
Happy Anniversary Oops
Best wishes to all
Mizuna's adventure reminded me of my old very dear friend. She was quite a few years older than I but she would find a way to get anything done. A true 'can do' person like Mizuna. One day she needed to cut some tree limbs and the only way to reach them was to climb out an upstairs window. Well, she didn't take a phone with her and couldn't get the window up from the outside and had to sit on the roof for quite a while 'til the man next happened to spot her and come to her rescue. Oh, I miss her so much! We had so much fun!
