I've not felt so under the weather for a long while.

MissA it sounds like the chest infection/lurgy which is rife this side of the bridge. I am just getting over it as are the AC and most of the GC.

I'm not so bad as I felt, thanks.
Just sound as if I have swallowed a set of bagpipes!!
It is when I move around that i get breathless - am ok sitting still.

I've got a really sore throat, so I think it's a lurgy going around.

My gp isn't all that helpful since I had the sheer audacity to insist I wasn't well ages ago. (That time when I really wasn't well)

I do feel a bit better.

I hope you have contacted 111 for advice. Things do seem worse at night especially if you are alone and hope you are feeling easier now. Best get some advice. Maybe go to A & E and they will then do a chest x-ray and assessment. Let us know how you get on today💐

Miss, A, please ring your GP or 111.
I have frequently been in your position and if you have a rash on your face, you need to let someone know.
If you phone 111, they will advise you.

When I phoned 111 for a similar reason, I was sent straight to A&E, where I was fast tracked and thoroughly examined.
Please do not waste time. If you have a rash on your face, it may be a sign of a reaction to your antibiotics.
Furthermore, why hasn't your GP prescribed anti nausea medication? I keep a stash, because some of my meds cause vomiting.

GP’s normally prescribe Omenprazole, an anti nausea drug if certain medications are causing nausea. Steroids are another drug prescribed for severe chest infections when antibiotics are not working.
If these are not already prescribed, it would be worth talking to your GP again.

They should be able to check your oxygen levels to make sure you are getting adequate oxygen to your bloodstream and then perhaps anti-nausea pills so that the antibiotics can stay down. I am glad you are going in and things should start getting better very soon. Sorry for your suffering. Yes, you too, Grammaretto - get better soon.

I have a hospital appointment today, so that won't be happening.
It's too risky to go out and about with a bad cough - I'll probably wee myself on the bus!

I've spoken to my helpful gp and he said there isn't anything else he can give me due to the other stuff I'm on (which I keep vomiting up anyway)

Something is working though, because I'm getting a rash all over my face. 🤒

Why not call 111 and ask for help and advice that is what it is there for struggling for breath can be very scary.

That's the thing - I am taking antibiotics, but I was really sick with them for the first couple of days, so I'm on about day two of taking them and keeping them down.

Hi Miss A, are you able to ring 111? You shouldn't be struggling for breath. Otherwise you could ring 999 for an ambulance if things are very bad.

I expect all are asleep, in which case, just ignore this.

I feel a bit afraid though, and a bit silly, because I wonder if I'm getting in a flustered and making things worse.
