The usual routine after breakfast , get ready and catch bus to Bicester hopefully see some people I know .
Return home , air fryer Fish & Chips today for a change .
Take Care,
Mick

Always read here but don't post , but your pran antics Marydoll have made me respond ! Sounds like a comedy sketch and certainly made me smile 🙂! You seem so stoical and positive despite your problems - an inspiration!!

Happy birthday Llfl🎂🎉🎁

Stilllearning Fri 26-Apr-24 09:53:23

Morning from South Lanarkshire, cloudy, bright and cold!

Happy Birthday Ladyleftfieldlover, enjoy your day.

Hope you recover well from all that lifting Roses, you definitely should never have been expected to do that.

I’m another one who’s loving your photos and tales of your cruise BlueSapphire, apart from anything else I can at least imagine the heat!

A day at home now, I hope I carry out at least some of my ‘To do’ list. I’ve bought a special notepad which says cheerily Let’s Do This’ at the top, do you think that will help?

Wishing everyone the best day possible x

Good Morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast, although it still feels a little chilly.
Lovely time last night at the RLPO after a nice meal. Some new works and then the big one, Shostakovich 5, quite a heavy programme, but always thrilling to be with the symphony orchestra. It pleases me that the daughter of one of my late mature voice students is now a member of the orchestra, he would be so proud.
The concert was recorded for Medici tv so I might spot myself and friend when it’s aired!

Now off to daubing at art group and then to pick up a watch with the wrist band expanded as it was too tight. I’m looking forward to staying in tonight after being out a lot,
Many haps LF and you make me feel like taking off on to the high seas BlueSapphire

Good morning from Severnside everyone.

Wishing you a Happy Birthday LLFL 🎉

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 6°C.

I had a good sleep and awoke to birds cheeping outside my window. Today I need to collect a prescription and will do a little shopping. Hoping to spend a little time on the Marina in the sunshine.

Have a good day whatever you’re doing 🌻

EkwaNimitee Fri 26-Apr-24 08:57:57

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but frosty Carlisle, the bird bath was frozen solid and the upstairs heating had come on. Warming up nicely now though.
Yesterday I had a sudden urge to reorganise my office. Whilst I'm pleased with the result, it made my back complain for the rest of the day. What the office really needs is getting rid of 'stuff' then I could remove some of the shelves and work surfaces it's all on. I can't see that happening, indeed, I have recently acquired more 'stuff'!

Marydoll, life (and MrMD !) seems to be determined to challenge you.....it's supposed to keep your brain circuits in good fettle though, isn't it?

Have the best possible day everyone.

Happy Birthday ladyleftfieldlover 🎂🎉🥂

Morning from an overcast S Hants, that sky BlueSapphire!
MrJ is much improved and sorry Roses, assembled our shed, evicting Mr Rat from the old one.
Meanwhile, I’ve inherited his racking cough and runny nose, sharing is not necessarily caring.
Good for Iris gMattie I hope she has a lovely time.
Happy Birthday llfl 🎉🎂🥂
Tesco delivering later and pub tonight, if I feel like it.

Thank you, Blue Sapphire, for sharing your excellent cruise, and to Marydoll for reminding me so entertainingly of past struggles with baby conveyances. A cheerful start to the day. No workmen due now as boiler installation is complete, control panel moved to where I can see it easily and a new thermostat in the hall. Just the bill now!

Cold or whatever it has been is slowly clearing so will join the oldies coffee morning, but otherwise will let the day unfold.

Good morning from Durham.
An icy blue sky, but very cold - there were hailstones yesterday.
The engineer came from Octopus, but it’s not fixed - he didn’t do what he was supposed to do! I feel ‘in the middle’ so another visit to arrange. He put the power off, now the burglar alarm won’t switch on.
Coffee this morning with a friend, then email Octopus again.
I had a similar incident MaryD with DGS1, but in those days, I drove a big estate car and lifted the whole pram in, sideways, and closed the tailgate!
Llfl 🎂
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all. It's another lovely sunny start on the Angus coast but still with that bitterly cold wind. It was a glorious afternoon yesterday too, but because of the wind the closest I could get to enjoying it was sitting in the front sun porch!
Enjoy your day trip today Bluesapphire and thank you for keeping those lovely photos coming.
So glad that Iris was looking forward to her disco grandmattie. She's had such a long hard struggle. Are all the operations over now?
Your poor little dgs1 Grandmabatty. Little ones heal quickly, but even so he's going to be frustrated by all the things he'll have to miss out on while he does so.
Happy Birthday 🎂 ladylfl. Enjoy your day.
That was shocking service Roses. It sounds as if that should have been a two-man delivery - the fault of the company and not the driver. I certainly would complain.
I shall enjoy a quiet day today after tai chi and shopping yesterday. Tomorrow we're hoping to do some tai chi on the beach. The tide is at low at the appropriate time so there should be plenty of beach - it's just whether or not we can access it. It is shocking - and sad - to see the devastation caused by the winter storms. So it's a case of 🤞.
After the beach I'm driving over to Perth to meet up with DD for afternoon tea. She's up here to see the girls (who are both working tomorrow afternoon) and then on Sunday she is doing the Aberdeen Kilt Walk in aid of her charity WAY (Widowed and Young). Over the years she has done each of the Kilt Walks but this year has chosen to do them all - it's a cause very close to her heart 💙. I'm so proud of her.
Enjoy your activities today everyone and I hope there's shelter from that wind where you are x

Good morning from a cloudy Horncastle, home of the antique shops and junk yards. Freezing cold but we spent a pleasant day hunting through the piles of China, glass and everything else. We haven’t stayed here for many years and it was all nostalgic.
Off to North Norfolk today.
Happy birthday Llfl
Pleased to hear Iris is doing well.
RoseandLilac definitely a phone call, I am afraid I wouldn’t have been able to help she would have had to take it away again
Best wishes to all

Good Morning . A brilliant blue sky here in Hertfordshire this morning ,
Am up & dressed ready for the School & dog run 🐶 , which I haven’t done for eons 😂
To say I am still completely shattered from our extremely late one on Wednesday is the truth . The plasterers were here yesterday which meant an equally early start . Then they had the door open all day , it was freezing , so I took myself out for a dog walk & to meet 17yr old GD for coffee & lunch 🥗
This morning I hope to do that retail therapy that didn’t happen yesterday for various reasons . Had a lovely evening with my x3gd’s , lots of interesting chat .
Then I’m driving back to Cambridgeshire for college this afternoon.
Oh it would be nice to be able to get a coffee with out the need for a masters degree - there is a Coffee machine that only gives you like warm coffee & one of those qouker (?) qooker ? Hot water taps that I can’t even turn on 😂

Liberty Fri 26-Apr-24 08:05:46

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk,at last. Just hoping it lasts longer than the last few mornings.

My medical review was fine yesterday although my cholesterol is borderline and I have to decide whether to start taking statins. No immediate rush and so far differing thoughts from family members. As the nurse said, the biggest factor for an increasing level is getting older and there is nothing that I can do about that!

Off to the hairdressers later when I will be regaled by the latest adventures of D’s family…..always an hour filled with laughter.
DH will meet me afterwards for coffee and then a relaxing afternoon at home, perhaps pottering in the garden if there is no wind.

Hope all have a good day however it is spent.

Pantglas2 Fri 26-Apr-24 08:04:39

Oh lawdy she’s done it again 😂 miss Marydoll has me in bits whenever they have a ‘contretemps’ - you’re such a witty raconteur with a biting turn of phrase which has me falling about! I’m sure we all have ‘moments’ with our other halves we can relate…😇

🥂birthday greetings to LLfL x

Gingster Fri 26-Apr-24 08:04:08

Good morning all.
What a day you had Marydoll - never a dull moment! I know the feeling of struggling with prams especially with our twins double buggy! 🤯🥵.

Yesterday was different with my two old school pals - we had our pottery session in London, and made little pots. Very therapeutic .
We then went for lunch in a huge restaurant/indoor market , where they sold everything foodie.
Really cold and tired by the time I got home , pjs on, DH made me a hot drink and I promptly fell asleep on the sofa.

Lovely pics Bluesapphire beautiful blue skies. Enjoy your day.

Lovely to hear Iris is doing so well.

Roseandlilac that’s terrible service. You shouldnt have been expected to help unload. Definitely complain.

Happy birthday Ladyleftfielder. Have a lovely day.

Take care all 🌸

Grammaretto Fri 26-Apr-24 08:02:39

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I didn't sleep well at all . It seems to have snowed a bit in the night though its melting fast. Brr.

Volunteer shift this morning and tonight a choir concert in Rosslyn Chapel. It's our community choir and the choir from our twin town in France.

I had a quote for a new ceiling yesterday and was told not to sit in that room. It's my sitting room so I hope the process speeds up or I'll just have to sit in bed.

Roses you probably shouldn't have shifted those heavy loads. Yes you should make a complaint.

I laughed sorry at your shenanigans with the buggy Marydoll. It happened to us at a NT castle carpark and we tried to get it unfolded into the car but it wouldn't fit.
We were offered help from another elderly chap who eventually managed to fold it down and then told us he had a degree in engineering!

Happy birthday 🎂 llfl have a lovely day.

I'm glad that nothing stops Iris, gMattie she must take after her gran. 😀

Photos of your cruise are super Blue

Have the best day possible everyone.

Happy Birthday LLFL 🎂💐

Sar53 Fri 26-Apr-24 07:49:38

Good morning from Leamington. I haven't opened the blind yet but the forecast for today is not good.
Happy Birthday to Llf. Have a lovely day and enjoy your meal this evening. I'm another who will be 71 soon and cannot believe that I'm over 70.
Hopefully DD1 and I will get out today. A very young pup is a bit of a tie but SIL will be WFH today so he won't be left on his own.
I hope you all have an enjoyable day xx

Alygran Fri 26-Apr-24 07:36:57

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is shining. Touch of frost overnight.
Happy birthday Llfl
Enjoy Keffalonia Blue. We had some lovely holidays there.
Today it’s coffee, opticians and shopping for me.
Have a good day everyone.

Gala Fri 26-Apr-24 07:33:30

Good morning from a sunshiny Sefton.... and not a cloud in the sky. It's not what is forecast but 🤞 it lasts.
Two zoom exercise classes this morning, a quick shower then off into town on the train to meet old friends for lunch in our favourite Italian restaurant. That's today sorted.
Take care all.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 26-Apr-24 07:31:18

Good morning from a dry and cloudy Oxfordshire with a bitterly cold North wind blowing again.

Hairdresser today and a bit of tidying up.

Have a lovely day LLFL

So pleased that Iris is coming along well GM

Have a good day everyone and try to keep warm.

Greyduster Fri 26-Apr-24 07:30:51

Happy Birthday, Llfl!🎂🥂

Greyduster Fri 26-Apr-24 07:27:59

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a blue sky South Yorkshire, but my goodness, it’s cold. I spent most of yesterday morning cutting down the nettles and grass behind the garden wall. I found a patch of forget me nots which I have left. For some reason I can’t get them to grow from seed but they spring up unbidden all over the place. I also had my covid jab, which was supposed to have been cancelled for lack of vaccine, in the afternoon - there were no shows, so some spare. I now have a very sore arm and shoulder.
Volunteering this afternoon. BlueSapphire I’m enjoying your photos. It’s a long time since I’ve been to Greece. I loved it.
Have the best day you can, folks.
