Return home , air fryer Fish & Chips today for a change .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dawning, overcast Bristol. It is still chilly with maxima still in the very low teens, and a biting wind.
Quiet day yesterday. Tai chi class went well, very well exercised!
I went to dinner at DD’s as usual. Iris was at her school disco. It’s the first time she was looking forwards to it as she is now so very much more stable; all her operations and procedures seem to have helped enormously. Her gait is still a little odd and she has to wear a splint all the time to protect her bones but is mostly “normal” now.
Spanish today. Our homework was very difficult, complaints on our WhatsApp group. I have made some 3 ingredient brownies to take to class to celebrate my 12 months in Bristol. The rest will go to the church coffee morning tomorrow.
Have a good day, y’all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning everyone from Adventure moored off Kefallonia. Up early and awaiting a room service breakfast this morning as I have a full day tour of the island.

Yesterday was spent cruising the beautiful Strait of Ithaca, watching the scenery from the sundeck, enjoying a Pina Colada! Finished one book, and have another ready to start on my Kindle.

A delicious dinner with good company followed, then had an early night.

Hope all have a good day.

Good morning Mick and all who follow from dark but dry 🇪🇸 where more lovely 🌞 is promised….🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞 fill yer boots those in need and make sure the return 🌧️ is sent at night 😂 - if only it were that simple eh?

A quiet day at mi Casa is planned before trying a couple of newly refurbished tapas bars this evening 😋 and nothing much planned for the weekend either but that’s the beauty of being here!

Love reading about Blue S cruise, I’ve not been to Malta but Kefalonia has a special place in my heart and still have two friends living out there, lucky girls 😉

Good news for all is ordered for the weekend x

BlueSapphire Fri 26-Apr-24 06:05:02

Room service breakfast!

Bonnybanko Fri 26-Apr-24 06:05:40

Good morning all, today it looks like it’s going to be dull and a little cold on the east coast of Fife.

The weather these days is all over the place sunny and warm. Windy and cold. Who knows what it’s going to be. I just know I’m off out this afternoon to my local club and the bank

Have as good a day as you can

RosesandLilac Fri 26-Apr-24 06:16:17

Good morning, ‘tis grey-skied and chilly here on a hillside in south Glos, not a lot of sunshine forecast here any time soon 🙄
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that DH has help to erect the shed today. I’m keeping right out of the way; I didn’t expect to have to help unload the timbers for the shed and summerhouse yesterday, it just about finished me off and I’m not feeling too good as a result and had a bad night.
The delivery man was incredibly unhelpful and grumpy, he refused to carry anything into the back garden and moaned for the whole 40 minutes it took to unload. DH wasn’t here, he had a nurse appointment unfortunately. In retrospect I should have refused to help I guess?
I am hoping for a quiet day apart from taking the dog for a walk and maybe making a cake.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from a chilly Torbay with rain likely.

What a beautiful photo, BlueSapphire; it matches your name! Have a great day out!
So good to hear of the progress being made by Iris, grandMattie. 🦩👏🦩

The comments about my medical appointments from you lovely people really touched me yesterday. Thank you. It was a busy day with a call from DD2 to start it off. I do enjoy catching up with her family and school news but I’m glad I don’t have to teach any more!

Later, I took the bus to my optician's to collect new glasses then enjoyed a coffee at a nearby café. Last night I became really cold in church at a long PCC Meeting. Why do committees attract those who like the sound of their own voice?! On arrival home, a cheerful neighbour told me that the wind is now from the North!

I’m meeting a few of my exercise class friends for coffee this morning which I shall enjoy. We have little chance (or breath!) to talk normally.

Enjoy whatever the day brings! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° with sunshine and clouds. It looks like it could be a nice day. RosesandLilac that's not so good that the delivery man was unhelpful. I would let the company know, especially as you have poor health. BlueSapphire such lovely photos. I am very fond of the Greek Islands. GrandMattie Iris has really come on, hasn't she?
Yesterday was more pottering then and unpleasant dentist appointment. The dentist is lovely but sadly my gums are not in good shape. I also have a mobile tooth what I call wobbly.
Today I need to get food in. I'm having both boys for an hour or so this morning. Dd has a physio appointment for a bad back. Then I'm hanging in to dgs2 for a few hours. Dgs1 has to go for an x ray on his foot. He's been limping for over a week and got progressively worse. The GP thinks he's fractured something so DD will take him later today to find out. It's a real shame because he was just getting into his football training, however he needs to heal. No doubt dgs2 and I will be in the garden if it stays fair. I fancy stovies for dinner. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Fri 26-Apr-24 06:51:33

So many grammatical errors! I'm horrified.

karmalady Fri 26-Apr-24 06:55:42

Good morning from cold s somerset. Not nice weather and heating is back on

I will be having a busy day but have remembered to put the tender plants back into the mini cold glass greenhouse this morning. Better cool than long thin stems from being indoors

Knitting , reading and pottering is my programme for today. By now I would normally have changed over to summer/spring clothing but am leaving my wardrobe in its winter state for now

Have a good day

kittylester Fri 26-Apr-24 06:57:45

Good morning all from a bright, sunny but cold, North Leicestershire.

Yesterday's team meeting was really good. We are a lively group with lots of good ideas and banter and our 'leader' is wonderful.

As the meeting was breaking up, I went really cold and, by the time I got home, I was shaking uncontrollably. I was really tired and slept most of the afternoon and all night. I am hoping it is a side effect of my covid jab on Wednesday.

Today, I have to nip to the butcher's and Waitrose - assuming I am fit enough.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 26-Apr-24 07:07:54

Morning all another chilly day here in S E Essex.

The Imp and DD slept over last night (the 9 yr old is away overnight with his school) he crept in for a cuddle at 6.20.

I gave the gym first thing followed by a good natter, this evening DH and I are off to our favourite Thai restaurant.

Tomorrow I am being taken to see Take That by one of my gorgeous daughter-in-laws, we are staying in a hotel right by the O2 Atena thereby avoiding central London and any of the ongoing demonstrations.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

Whitewavemark2 Fri 26-Apr-24 07:09:32

Good morning from a chilly South Downs.

Went for our covid jab yesterday, but the ambulance didn’t turn up. So went on to Waitrose to do weekly shop, as the home delivery service from Sainsbury’s had failed.

Hair appointment this afternoon. I won’t mention Duncan, as I will get tearful.

Ordered a “heavenly bamboo” for a pot in the Japanese garden. This one is pink blush. It is to replace a rhododendron which hasn’t done at all well.

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony to the world.

Bellasnana Fri 26-Apr-24 07:09:54

Good morning from Malta where it’s sunny and due to reach 20°C later. It felt pretty chilly at 6.45 when I left the house

The boys are breakfasted and dressed. We will probably go out for a walk to the swings a bit later.

This afternoon I’ll be watching tennis as Alcaraz is playing, hopefully recovered after injury.

That sounds most unsatisfactory RosesandLilac. You expect better service than that when you’re paying good money for it.

Sorry you had a nasty dental appointment Grandmabatty. I do sympathise.😢

Enjoy your coffee with friends Ash. BlueSapphire your cruise seems to be going well. It reminds me of the many times I was lucky enough to join Galen on such voyages.

Wishing you all a good day. Can’t believe it’s Friday again!☀️

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 26-Apr-24 07:11:16

Morning all from West Oxfordshire on what is the 26th! I know this because it’s my 71st birthday! I haven’t got used to being 70 yet.
OH and I will have lunch at my favourite restaurant. There won’t be all the festivities I had last year when my brother and sister came over from Australia.
Have a good day everyone, whatever you’re doing. It would be good to have some proper sunshine. We have a beautiful oleander which is currently in the conservatory. We would love to put it outside but not while frost is still a possibility.

NannyJan53 Fri 26-Apr-24 07:11:21

Good morning from a bright and sunny (so far) Black Country.

Good walk yesterday, through Blue Bell Woods and back along Canal, then coffee in garden centre.

No real plans today. MrJ will be back from Bristol sometime in the afternoon. May have a walk out with my friend later. She will ring me when she is free.

RosesandLilac I too think you should complain to the company about the drivers behaviour and attitude. He is after all an ambassador for them.

Wishing you all a lovely Friday

NannyJan53 Fri 26-Apr-24 07:13:03

Happy Birthday Ladyleftfield flowers . I know what you mean, I was 70 last September and still not sunk in!

Susan56 Fri 26-Apr-24 07:16:10

Good morning from Shropshire.A dry but chilly day forecast.

A quiet day at home today is very welcome after a busy week.

Good to hear what good progress Iris is making grandMattie.Sorry to hear DGS1 may have fractured his foot Grandmabatty. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Roses that’s terrible.I hope you feel better soon.A complaint to the company is definitely needed and a review on their website if they have one😡

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

harrigran Fri 26-Apr-24 07:16:22

Good morning from a cool but dry NE.
Yesterday DS came after work and took me shopping, I only had a short time to shop as he had to be back for a meeting on his computer.
I was woken again today by a bird singing on my window sill, it was very loud and not the usual blackbird, I must Google the birdsong as I didn't recognise it.
I am having lunch out with my friend today, enjoy our chats.
Lovely photos Bluesapphire, enjoy your excursion today.
Have a good day everyone.

brook2704 Fri 26-Apr-24 07:16:50

Ladyleftfieldlover a very happy birthday to you 💐🧁🎉

cornergran Fri 26-Apr-24 07:24:50

Morning Mick, morning All from a chilly, cloudy corner of Somerset.

Volunteering and TaiChi today. Also a need to replace some compost around a potted rose, something has been digging. We’ll cover the top with sharp stones and hope.

Happy birthday ladylfl, enjoy lunch. Hope you pick up as the day progresses roses, a complaint may ensure more help for others.

Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Marydoll Fri 26-Apr-24 07:27:21

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 0°C and partly sunny.

What a delightful, but exhausting day we had yesterday with Babydoll.
However our attempts to put up the pram were like something out of a comedy sketch and nearly ended in divorce.
I had assured DIL that putting the pram together would not be a problem, those words came back to haunt me!
DH of course refused to listen ( because he knew better and hadn't heard DIL's instructions) and he ended up knocking the hood off and then putting it on back to front and leaving the pram stuck in the upright position. 😱
I resorted to watching a You Tube video of instructions, but couldn't see it in the strong sun. 😆

DH then complained that the handle was too high for him, I advised him that I was pushing and would use the pram as a walking aid, to save using my stick.
Later Dollie's mum messaged to say that Dollie's best friend's grandparents had seen DH walking with the pram, (handle raised up higher ) and me limping miles behind, struggling to keep up.
A former parent had stopped to chat and an impatient DH has seized the opportunity to drive the pram and take off into the distance. Grrrr!

We did spend a pleasant half hour with the other grandparents at the handover.
I asked DH, where my things were and realised that he had folded them inside the pram. The other nana and I spent a hilarious ten minutes, trying to reassemble the pram, trying to find my things. I was so glad that she too was as daft as me.
Just as we were getting into the car, I noticed that Babydoll's bright, lime green car seat was still in the car. I pointed this out to DH, who insisted I was wrong and that it was Dollie's, despite the fact that her grey booster was sitting beside it and there was no way that she would fit in it!!! 😁

Because I was exhausted, I suggested that we treat ourselves to takeaway. Both of us fancied a chicken breast supper, but the chip shop only had one. Guess who was disappointed? It certainly wasn't DH.
Just as I sat down to enjoy the alternative, the P.P phoned. By the time he had finished offloading his worries, my dinner was stone cold. 😭

Today won't be much better, I suspect. I have a meeting and I know it will be fraught.
I will need to try and be diplomatic and stay silent. Not exactly my best traits.😉

I hope you all have a good day and that our dear friends, for whom life is a struggle find the strength to get through the day. It is difficult when your life changes and you can no longer the things you used to do.
