Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 0°C and partly sunny.
What a delightful, but exhausting day we had yesterday with Babydoll.
However our attempts to put up the pram were like something out of a comedy sketch and nearly ended in divorce.
I had assured DIL that putting the pram together would not be a problem, those words came back to haunt me!
DH of course refused to listen ( because he knew better and hadn't heard DIL's instructions) and he ended up knocking the hood off and then putting it on back to front and leaving the pram stuck in the upright position. 😱
I resorted to watching a You Tube video of instructions, but couldn't see it in the strong sun. 😆
DH then complained that the handle was too high for him, I advised him that I was pushing and would use the pram as a walking aid, to save using my stick.
Later Dollie's mum messaged to say that Dollie's best friend's grandparents had seen DH walking with the pram, (handle raised up higher ) and me limping miles behind, struggling to keep up.
A former parent had stopped to chat and an impatient DH has seized the opportunity to drive the pram and take off into the distance. Grrrr!
We did spend a pleasant half hour with the other grandparents at the handover.
I asked DH, where my things were and realised that he had folded them inside the pram. The other nana and I spent a hilarious ten minutes, trying to reassemble the pram, trying to find my things. I was so glad that she too was as daft as me.
Just as we were getting into the car, I noticed that Babydoll's bright, lime green car seat was still in the car. I pointed this out to DH, who insisted I was wrong and that it was Dollie's, despite the fact that her grey booster was sitting beside it and there was no way that she would fit in it!!! 😁
Because I was exhausted, I suggested that we treat ourselves to takeaway. Both of us fancied a chicken breast supper, but the chip shop only had one. Guess who was disappointed? It certainly wasn't DH.
Just as I sat down to enjoy the alternative, the P.P phoned. By the time he had finished offloading his worries, my dinner was stone cold. 😭
Today won't be much better, I suspect. I have a meeting and I know it will be fraught.
I will need to try and be diplomatic and stay silent. Not exactly my best traits.😉
I hope you all have a good day and that our dear friends, for whom life is a struggle find the strength to get through the day. It is difficult when your life changes and you can no longer the things you used to do.
