Good morning from Shropshire. We too have a dreary day forecast.
A quiet day at home today getting ready for ten days of full time childcare as DD and SIL are going to their friends Caribbean wedding.
I’m glad you had help with the shed Roses.Glad DGS1 doesn’t have a fracture Grandmabatty but like you I would not be convinced without the X-ray.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good Morning Saturday 27th April 2024
(52 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight but dry ,as yet no brightness from the sun , here in brackley .
My usual routine , of getting the bus to Bicester , hopefully get somethings done such as getting cash as my local bank as closed ,but there seems to be a generation of people who prefer cash to contactless payments ,and of course things such King Charles currency doe not circulate.
Take Care,
Mick
Morning from a grey S E Essex, I gave to get up, get sorted (including packing an overnight bag) for going to see Take That at the O2 with one of my darling daughter in laws 🎶🎵🎶🎵
Wishing you all an enjoyable day 🙋♀️
Good morning from rainy Colchester. Glad I got washing dry outside yesterday. I am up to date until DH returns this afternoon.
I need to pop into the City for a couple of bits but otherwise a quiet day with spag bol on the menu.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning Mick and all. Lovely to see you back Mizuna - you were missed. And more lovely photos *Bluesapphire"! Thank you.
Cloudy with sunny spells this morning on the Angus coast, and by the time we meet on the Esplanade for tai chi on the beach it will be 7° with a moderate breeze. We've done it in colder, wetter weather than that in years gone by! Now there's just the small matter of accessing the beach.......... According to someone somewhere today is World Tai Chi Day - just so you know and can put it in your diary 😉
This afternoon I'm off to have a cuppa with DD, which will be lovely. Both DGDs are working, and New Man hasn't come up this time, so it will just be the two of us, which I'm looking forward to.
I hope your shed is completed this weekend Roses - thank goodness your help wasn't required yesterday.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and may the sun shine and the clouds lift x
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is dry and windless, but the sun has not graced us with its presence. I had a very sore arm from my covid jab but it’s fine this morning. Yesterday morning I spent ages changing the buttons on an M&S shirt that would never stay fastened because the buttons were much too small for the buttonholes. I like the shirt but it irritated the life out of me. I’m amazed at how much my manual dexterity has gone down the tubes recently. I struggle to tie knots in things, so if I ever go fishing again I will spend more time trying to put a fly on the end of the line than actually fishing!
A food shop for me today, some admin and then hopefully some time in the garden.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning from a wet and grey Suffolk. After a lovely sunny start yesterday we planned to go to Dunwich for a walk on the beach and lunch at the cafe(Gingster you know the one) but as I returned home from my hair appt the heavens opened and we had icy rain. Plans abandoned.
No plans so far for today so it will probably be a quiet day at home after a soggy dog walk.
Hope some of you have better weather than here and a good day for all.
Good morning all and it’s drizzling and dull here in Essex.
Yesterday was a lovely day and we sat in the garden for our afternoon tea. Warm with not much breeze. We met our Friday pals where one couple had brought birthday cake a 75th. The landlady joined us and toasted the birthday boy.
Not sure what’s on today- I fancy a book reading day in the conservatory.🤞. Tomorrow we plan to travel up to our Suffolk abode.
Lovely to see Mizuna back. We did miss you. Hope alls well!
Roseandlilac so pleased you got help with the shed.👍
Bluesapphire thanks for sending the pics of your cruise. It really is inspiring me to book one.
Take care and have a gentle day.🌸
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and cloudy. Sorry for those who are experiencing rain. It's our usual weather, so I don't mind giving it to you 😄 Mizuna it's good to see you back. Ladyleftfieldlover it sounds like you had a good day. BlueSapphire your photos are making me quite jealous! RosesandLilac I'm glad you got someone to help build the shed.
Yesterday went well. Dgs2 and I played with a new toy I had bought from Aldi. He was very pleased with it - a mini ice cream stand based on his favourite tv show. Dgs1 apparently doesn't have a hairline fracture but a sprain. Although as they didn't send him for an x-ray, I'm not convinced. However he has to rest his leg for a few days. I ended up having a fish supper for dinner as I couldn't be bothered cooking and there is an award winning chippie five minutes walk away.
Today dgs1 is coming for a sleepover. He's looking forward to it and so am I. He's good fun but very bossy. 😂 He wants chicken noodles for dinner and popcorn after. His wish is my command. My dinner will be the stovies I couldn't be bothered making last night. Have a good day all.
Good morning from N Norfolk where rain is expected soon. We are snug in a lovely small cottage and will take things easy today before starting our tour of the local tea shops!
All the best
Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.
Not a lot going on here as I am still feeling the effects of my covid jab. We were going to a restaurant in the village this evening but have cancelled.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Morning all from a very damp looking West Oxfordshire.
Thanks for the birthday wishes yesterday. I had a lovely day. Lots of beautiful presents including earrings from my sister in Australia, flowers and brownies from younger son and that ‘Love heart’ picture from OH. We were out having a delicious lunch when the post lady tried to deliver elder son’s present, so they’ll try again today. My daughter sent a large box full of Afternoon Tea items. Yum.
Today will be mainly WI admin - the Annual Return beckons. Laundry, ironing…
Have a good day everyone. That cruise sounds amazing!
Wouldn't that be lovely Grandmachrisy!
Glad to see you Mizuna. If I wasn’t so far away I’d be up for breakfast at Wetherspoons😀
Good morning from Cornwall where it's damp but bright. I've been absent for various reasons Grandmachrisy but am back today! Will wait to hear if my granddaughter is coming for the day - she has the freedom to choose at short notice on Saturdays - but meanwhile I'll drop a bag of red and green wool plus tapestry needles to my daughter-in-law's as she wants to embroider cherries onto a denim dress. Breakfast at Wetherspoons before any of that though.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry grey start to the day, hoping for a bit of sunshine later
Sounds interesting bonny enjoy your day
Pleased you got your shed done roses
I’ll need to pop into town sometime later for a bit of shopping but nothing else planned
Enjoy your day on the ship today BlueSapphire
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning, it’s sunny and dry at the moment. Up early today, dh and my grand I are having our Covid boosters this morning at an outlying GP surgery.
Good you got help with your shed, Roses loving your photos BlueS.
I may have missed her, but has Mizuna posted recently?
Have as good a day as possible everyone.
Good morning from a wet Bristol. Like karma, our forecast is for a dreary day. Ye gods, is the sun ever going to show its face and warmth?
taichinan, Iris has a rare genetic condition abbreviated to NF1 where one doesn’t know what will happen or when. Her leg operations may be or not the last ones, which is very sad for her and the family. At the moment, she doesn’t seem to have the worst of the symptoms, but who knows?
Had an enjoyable Spanish class yesterday, using an interesting article about fair trading coffee from Columbia as starting point.
I’m going to church coffee and chat this morning, taking some brownies with me to celebrate my first year here. Cake is always welcome with comments like “goody, Mattie has baked this week”. No one else brings cake, so we usually have supermarket biscuits…
Quiet afternoon. I might plan a quilt, but haven’t had the inspiration yet, although I need one each for my two bedrooms.
May this weekend bring peace and contentment to you all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from Malta where we expect a high of 22°C, fairly windy and with a chance of dirty rain.
So glad your shed is almost ready RosesandLilac and also that you found someone nice to help after that miserable delivery man.
BlueSapphire, I remember going to Katakolon, it was built especially to accommodate the cruise ships and there are a lot of shops and bars very close to the ship.
I did the trip to Olympia which I really enjoyed although it was super-hot to be touring around, anyway, hope you enjoy a lovely day on board.
I let the dog out about an hour ago and saw the corpse of a baby bird in my backyard. Poor little thing, it is a fledgling so I wonder if it fell or was pushed out of the nest. It has really upset me, it’s little life over before it began.😢
No childcare today which is just as well as they ran me ragged yesterday! They are definitely getting more mischievous!😄
I have a parcel to collect from the Post Office so will walk up to the village later on and hope the rain holds off.
Tennis at 12.30 so need to get my chores done by then, including changing the sheets , a job I loathe!
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
Good morning everyone from what’s to be a promising day here on the east coast of Fife. The weather here at the moment is getting warmer each day thanks to climate warming. I had to buy a free standing fan from currys because of this.
I’ve got an exciting morning ahead I’m meeting a VIP today and I’m sooo excited, look on the 6 o’clock news you might be lucky enough to see me - the good news is out there.
Good morning from a wet Torbay where it has hardly stopped raining since lunchtime yesterday!
It was pleasant to catch up with friends from my exercise class but my good intentions of walking there and back were dashed by the biting wind as we left our venue and the welcome sight of a bus waiting nearby which passes close to my home!
Belated birthday greetings to Ladyleftfieldover! 🍾🎂🎈
I’m glad help was found to erect the shed, RosesandLilac.
Thank you for sharing your photos, BlueSapphire. It sounds and looks like a wonderful cruise.
Happy weekend to you all! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Views from my day out in Kefallonia yesterday.
Good morning from cold s somerset. The weather is going to be dreary all day
I was on my feet until 2 pm yesterday, from my usual early start. Bits and bobs plus I batch made a lovely homely lamb casserole, packed into 9 portions for the freezer. I am also planning to do a batch lasagne on thursday, no meat, just beans and veg and spelt sheets etc
I went up early last night, very early but I did not want to watch tv and the energy ambience upstairs is much better for bedtime. I sat in bed, warm and cosy with a heated pad behind my back and read until real bedtime. I do love reading my non-fiction books and I had a new book
Today, I know I am going to make bean soup and I want to go for a walk, depends on the weather.
Have a good day
Good morning everyone from Adventure, just docking in Katakolon, a little town on the western coast of the Greek mainland. It is near the ancient site of Olympia. The weather is fine and the forecast is good.
Had a wonderful day yesterday - a full day tour of Kefallonia, including photo stops and a delicious lunch in the fishing village of Fiskardo.
After formal dinner (steak and lobster) I enjoyed the singing of three wonderful tenors in the large lounge, and had a few dances.
I am not going ashore today, so will have a late breakfast, may try a treatment in the spa, sort some washing out and enjoy the view from the sundeck.
Have a lovely Saturday everyone.
Good morning Mick from a very wet Oxfordshire, for once Alexas’ weather forecast was correct.
Shopping delivery later.
Have a good day everyone, hugs for those who are under the weather.
Good morning Mick, it’s wet and still pretty dark here in south Glos, a wet day ahead.
Yesterday a lovely man from the village came to help DH assemble the shed, it’s almost finished. I honestly couldn’t have done it, patience-wise or stamina-wise 🙄
He will come back to help complete it today or tomorrow.
I kept out of the way beyond supplying tea, coffee and cake.
Today nothing much planned, a dog walk first thing after which I will probably do more crocheting and listen to an audiobook or podcast.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹
