Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight but dry ,as yet no brightness from the sun , here in brackley .
My usual routine , of getting the bus to Bicester , hopefully get somethings done such as getting cash as my local bank as closed ,but there seems to be a generation of people who prefer cash to contactless payments ,and of course things such King Charles currency doe not circulate.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 7°C.

I’m enjoying the sunshine but it’s still very cold out there.

I managed to do some vacuuming and clutter disposal yesterday morning. Prescription collected and a little shopping in the afternoon. We stayed up late watching films, Quite an old one, Two Mules for Sister Sarah which was very enjoyable. A newer one, Interstellar, which got great reviews but we both thought was awful!

Not much on the agenda today other than a walk around the Marina. Steam trains will be running every Saturday until September so hoping to get a few photos later.

Hope DGS1’s leg mends well GrandmaB.

What an awful shock Marydoll on what should have been a happy day for the family.

I read all your news each day, though having to limit my screen time means I don’t comment on everything.

I love following your cruise adventures BlueSapphire, your beautiful pictures are so uplifting.

Have a good day whatever you’re doing 🌻

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I'm running late so will come back and read properly later.
The French choir and our local one gave us a tear jerking concert and reception at Rosslyn Chapel last night and today we are serving lunch at the Town Hall.
I pick flowers for the tables. Nice job!

Tragic news Marydoll. 😢

Beautiful Kefolonia 😍 (sp?)Bluesapphire

Glad the work was done without you having to hurt your back Roses

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all. It’s cool and a bit cloudy here in South Lanarkshire.

What a dreadful thing to have happened Marydoll.

Susan supergran!

We had our first picnic of the year in king Charles’ garden at Dumfries House yesterday, it was looking beautiful.

Meeting DD and children at a dog field this morning, trying to get our dogs used to each other after a rocky start with her exuberant pup.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannySomerset Sat 27-Apr-24 09:31:06

A rainy start to the day, and showers seem to feature in the forecast for days to come, so not much chance of the saturated garden drying out. DD and DSiL have proposed themselves for overnight on Monday so must shop in preparation for that, especially as Tuesday’s usual supermarket shop didn’t happen and supplies are low. Hope all the various plans are successfully achieved and that Marydoll can magically stretch the church walls to fit everyone in. So nice to hear of a church not being big enough!

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Sunny, but I’m still feeling the chills…also I have a sore throat, which I hope is only a manifestation of my heavy snoring 😁

Nice art session yesterday but missing one member, whose funeral was on Wednesday. I was glad of a night in after gadding about and had a FaceTime with DD in the south. I enjoyed a small plaice wrapped round salmon and spinach in a horseradish sauce from our nice old fashioned fish shop in the village. I must use it more and it was quite a social occasion, meeting DSon’s retired teacher etc.

This afternoon to a matinee G&S. Never used to think about going to a matinee, only evening performances, but I want an early night for my day trip to North Wales tomorrow. A singing colleague is taking a leading role, so I’m looking forward to seeing her.

Your cruise looks super BlueSapphire and thoughts to all as always.🌺

Morning from cold South Lanarkshire, cloudy but patches of blue sky peeping through.

A fair amount of domestic tasks await my energy arriving and then this afternoon a visit to a close friend who has been quite unwell for some time but in spite of lots of tests no one seems to be getting to the bottom of it. She is getting worse and her family and friends are rather worried.
We had been planning a holiday together but all on hold at the moment.

Afterwords a ‘sleepover’ at DD4’s. ‘My’ bedroom has been decorated and she can’t wait to show it to me.

Mizuna, glad to see you back, Susan53 you are a good mum! I hope you enjoy your time with the grandchildren, you sound on top of things so 🤞!

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from a dry but cool NE yet again.
Had lovely lunch out with friend and a nice bottle of wine and finished the afternoon with a rhubarb and ginger gin and tonic.
Late afternoon retired to the sofa with my book and fell asleep for an hour 😴
Sister and BIL are coming this afternoon, she wants to borrow a handbag as she is going to a christening tomorrow, pointless buying one for a one off occasion. When she asked me I went searching and found five in the colour she wanted.
Love photos again, so uplifting.
Have a good day everyone.

Gorgeous photos BlueSapphire and I admire the fact you go solo and enjoy yourself.

Thank you Grandmabatty and Marydoll. We are happy to help them.DD has been unwell and they both work so hard.We just hope she enjoys herself and doesn’t worry about the children too much. They live in a lovely location so we are looking on it as a holiday in the country with the addition of two children!

A bright & sunny start to the day here in Sefton just like yesterday - which didn't last although it did stay dry. Hoping it lasts a bit longer today as we are off to a childrens' farm type place with DS1, DiL & both granddaughters. We will have a latish carvery lunch - another no cooking day 😃. (Followed by another tomorrow, that's 3 in a row!) A lovely Italian lunch yesterday with our friends. The restaurant was very busy which was good to see, would hate to see it close like so many have.
Wishing you all the best weekend.

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Mizuna good to see you back you've been missed.
BlueSapphie lovely photos a bit of sunshine to brighten the dreary days here.
Roses good to hear help was available for the shed.
Marydoll what a tragedy thoughts with all affected 🙏.
Yesterday managed to do front lawn and garden, also cleaned patio at the back.
Today we have friends coming later and we shall go over to the club.
Well usual full English calling, enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Marydoll Sat 27-Apr-24 08:42:05

Grandmabatty

Susan I think you are being very kind and your family is lucky to have you!

Totally agree.

Marydoll Sat 27-Apr-24 08:34:51

Susan, I do not envy you!

Susan56 Sat 27-Apr-24 08:30:21

Marydoll what a dreadful accident. My thoughts are with your friend and his family and all affected by this terrible tragedy🙏🏻

Grandmabatty I have made a spreadsheet of school times, after school activities and which uniform is to be worn on each day.We also have a video on how to use their washing machine!
DGD has wobbly teeth so instructions on how the tooth fairy delivers the cash!Ten days of early starts will be the most difficult part I think😴

Georgesgran Sat 27-Apr-24 08:29:15

Good morning from Durham. It’s bitterly cold, but a brilliant blue sky. We can expect a heady 10 degrees today.
I’m having a bit of a lie in, then taking some strong painkillers to DD1 who had a grueling dental procedure on Thursday and thinks something is amiss - she’s in agony and supposed to be going away on Friday, so I hope she can get it sorted.
I’ll pop in and see DGS2 later, as his Daddy will be at the home match.
Spoke to Octopus yesterday, but I’ve to wait until they contact me - more free electricity!
Best wishes to all. X

Jaxjacky Sat 27-Apr-24 08:26:32

Marydoll what an awful tragedy for the family. Susan ten days of childcare! You are a better person than me 😄

Marydoll Sat 27-Apr-24 08:03:28

GG, I hope you have a fabulous time!

Good morning from a Sunny Glasgow, where it is -1°C. A Tad chilly!

Belated birthday greetings to LLFL. I never had a minute yesterday to read your posts.

Yesterday was very fraught, between a meeting with the P.P and two rather patronising management team members of both schools and receiving some dreadful news.
They mistakenly thought I was just an old biddy, (moi?) trying to interfere in things, not realising I had years of experience in a similar management role.
It was very difficult because I am privy to confidential info, was unable to share it and couldn't reveal the reason for my stance.
I am in the midst of a dilemma, which has been worrying me for weeks.

On top of that, we were given the awful news that one of our parishioners, whom I know very well, was helping his son (a former pupil) move house, when he and his son's FIL were pinned against the wall of the house by an out of control car.
We don't know if my friend will survive, he has multiple crush injuries. I cannot stop thinking about the horror of it all. The FIL had minor injuries and the driver escaped without a scratch.
To add to the family's worries, the house has been structuredly damaged.

On a brighter note DIL and Dollie popped in unexpectedly.
The time was spent listening to a blow by blow account of every second of her busy day. 😁
My ears were ringing by the time she left!

I wish you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans. Bonny, I shall look for you on the news. I hope you have a good day.
My day will be spent on parish admin and working on the logistical nightmare of the seating plan for 55 First Communicants and their parents. However I arrange it, I will upset someone.😔

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s a cold but sunny start.
I’m going walking with a friend today. If I’m back in good time I shall tackle the ground elder in the corner of the garden.
blue we had a delicious lunch in Fiskardo when on holiday in Kef 10 years ago. It’s such a pretty town. Your photos bring back happy memories!
Have a good day everyone.
