I didn’t know they were going either, so it’s not in any news media I’ve read recently.

I don’t understand the point of the thread. They are not working royals. They are going to Nigeria. Is that really newsworthy?

Harry and Meghan are not working royals so this can't be a royal tour surely. Why would comparisons be made between the King and Catherine and Harry and Meghan? Can't understand that way of thinking. Catherine has asked to be left in peace to get well.

They have been invited, I believe because of the Invictus connection. Nigeria can invite who they choose. H and M did not organise it but to have turned it down would not have set a good impression either.

Apparently Meghan discovered she is 43% Nigerian two years ago and wants to explore her heritage.

I find it puzzling that Doria must be almost 100% Nigerian but Meghan didn’t know or wasn’t curious?

It’s a lucky coincidence that a free trip to Nigeria is coming up because Netflix must be running out of projects to film.

Oh for pity’s sake - moaning on about H and M as though there’s nothing more important in life.

Apparently, Meghan has recently discovered she is 43% Nigerian, which is sending its first delegation to the Invictus Games.
If they are planning a tour it seems more likely to be a desperate attempt to revive their flagging newsworthiness, that is, their 'marketability.'

Callistemon why on earth are you reporting this thread? I only mentioned Catherine in passing. I made no mention of her condition, treatment or prognosis, just that she was ailing or in other words ill, which is true. I made no speculation otherwise.

Anniebach Sun 28-Apr-24 23:35:12

Callistemon they will be in the papers and on rolling news

Callistemon21 Sun 28-Apr-24 23:32:27

Sorry, to continue her treatment in privacy and without unpleasant intrusion.

It's unpleasant.

Callistemon21 Sun 28-Apr-24 23:28:52

I am reporting this thread.

I thought the general consensus was to leave the Princess of Wales to continue her treatment with intrusion.

He is coming here to attend a service re Invictus then going to to Nigeria , she will join him in Nigeria.

Callistemon21 Sun 28-Apr-24 23:19:43

I thought the visit was to do with the Invictus Games being held in Nigeria at some future time and Meghan visiting privately to explore her heritage.

Of course it's not a Royal visit as they are not working Royals.

I didn’t know that they were in/going to. Nigeria. I thought Harry was coming here next week to celebrate the ten year anniversary of the Invictus Games.
I would also prefer their titles to be removed. They are trading on them.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 28-Apr-24 22:55:28

How do you know what the press will report? Do you have a crystal ball?

Whethertomorrow Sun 28-Apr-24 22:44:36

No matter what the facts are this is going to be reported on as being an official royal tour. This tour will be fully publicised in the press and have a lot of coverage perhaps to the detriment of the rest of the royal family.

Comparisons could be made between ‘youthful’ and energetic H and M and the elderly ailing king and Catherine also ailing.

Surely this is a kick in the teeth to Charles and William. I think their titles need to be removed asap, as I don’t think that H and M will ever stop trading on the RF name that they no longer want to be associated with.
