Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright and clear with very little cloud but dry here in brackley this morning.
Usual routine bus trip to Bicester , plus a coffee break and small shop , before returning home to do general housework this afternoon.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning from sun/cloud in S Hants.
Voluntary phone today, quiz tonight, eight hours sleep with no coughing - result, it’s still there, but hopefully on its way out.
Good luck Susan I hope the absentees have a great holiday in the Caribbean.

Good morning from a sunny N Norfolk where we shall be out and about.
Marydoll I hope you do have a more gentle day what a carry on!
Best wishes to all

Good morning from glorious sun on the South Downs - it is so welcome.

Bit of housework - then garden here I come🙂. I shall partake lunch out there as well.

I have some tiny thyme to plant in between some slabs - it spreads like mad and the bees go mad for it.

Stony Duncan will watch me.

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony to our world.

Good morning all from a lovely sunny start here at the Suffolk seaside.
We travelled up early yesterday and missed all the traffic. We had a lazy day and read in the summerhouse where it was warm out of the cold wind.

Today the mower and car will be picked up for repair.
We’ll take little pooch out for a wander and maybe have lunch out (maybe where you ‘didn’t’ go last week, Liberty.

Hope the move goes well Oops 🤞
Roseandlilac cruises are great for lone travellers. Bluesapphire is having a whale of a time.
Liberty enjoy your few days away with your pals. I mentioned the cruise to my school friends for next year (75th) but one of them suffers badly with inner ear trouble and is scared to commit.😥. We’ll have to think of something else.

I hope Marydolls friend will recover 🙏. What a terrible accident.

Enjoy the day as best you can 🌸. Take care

A quick good morning from a sunny Suffolk before I finish my packing and DH drops me at the station for my early 5 hour train journey to Winchester to stay overnight with one of my shipmates.

Thank you for your good wishes. We shan’t be visiting the Gardens but have timed tickets booked for Anne Frank’s house which none of us have visited for at least 20 years. I’m hoping that we can also visit my favourite museum…’ Our Lord inthe attic’…a canal side house with a hidden church across 3 attics built as a secret Catholic Church when Catholicism was banned. A beautifully restored 17th century merchant’s house with an emotional history.

Hope all can enjoy some sunshine and good times.

Gosh Marydoll! What a day.

grandMattie Mon 29-Apr-24 08:05:57

My poor MD, I’m so terribly sad for your friend. Many prayers winging their way to him/them.
Your PP shouldn’t be hiring behind you; you are wise to keep well out.
As for “modern” parents, their children are perfect, do no wrong, the only ones that count…. Grrrr 😡
Great that Dollie was shocked, she is well brought up. 👏

Georgesgran Mon 29-Apr-24 08:19:21

Good morning from Durham, where there’s a fine start to the day - bet it doesn’t last!
I’ll change my bed, then coffee with a friend first, then I’m babysitting DGS2 this afternoon, as his Daddy has a hospital appointment. I’ll stop off at Metrocentre on my way home and get some Euro.
What a palaver Marydoll. You have a lot of patience - I’m afraid I’d have thrown in the towel a long time ago (I have no religion). It must be hard. I hope you have better news of your friend soon.
Best wishes to all. X

Grammaretto Mon 29-Apr-24 08:21:12

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Wet start so no gardening or hanging washing out.

Marydoll you really are a brave, kind and patient soul. and mad
I would have run away.

Dollie's words were apt.

Several potters are coming today. I no longer teach but share my studio with some really interesting people.

Last night was the community cinema. We saw Marcel, the shell with shoes on uplifting and unusual though the woman next to me thought it very silly.

Your cruises and holidays seem to be going well Bluesapphire, pantglas and now Liberty keep posting the photos.

I hope your childminding skills aren't too rusty Susan.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. 16°today.
I already have a load on the line and another in the machine. Pity this wasn't the forecast that I saw yesterday as I had the tumble dryer going and could've held off.
Supermarket, probably Lidl, today as the cupboards are bare. A bit of a pootle outside to make the most of the sun too.
Love to all 🦩x

GrannySomerset Mon 29-Apr-24 08:33:42

No plans for what looks like a grey and windy day but various little jobs can no longer be ignored. DD and DSiL arrive later for an overnight stay so must get into hostess mode for that. Am much enjoying the cruise reports and pictures so thank you for sharing, and thank you for the reports from the Wild West of church management, Marydoll. Hope the child minders have a good day too.

monk08 Mon 29-Apr-24 08:35:40

Good morning all from the Black country where the sun is shining but it is very windy, great weather for drying towels which are in the wash.
Need to pick up DH prescription so will drop some more books of to the charity shop.
Best wishes anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Alygran Mon 29-Apr-24 08:39:38

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another cold windy day.
I’m going to go into the garden and get some jobs done so when the weather finally warms up I can enjoy it!
I was in Holland six years ago with the DDs. So beautiful!
Have a good day everyone.

EkwaNimitee Mon 29-Apr-24 08:47:47

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey damp Carlisle.

Not much done yesterday, the weather was fine but I wasn't, having woken with a bad head. Due to the Moderna jab the day before I'm sure.
Today I hope to break the back of the week's housework in the morning and get some boring admin done in the afternoon.

Marydoll...modern parenting, and in church too! Sounds as though you were more of diplomat than I could have been.
Thinking of your poor friend and family. I hope he's eventually restored to good health.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good Morning from a soggy Co Armagh, so miserable after some lovely bright days
My mum was a teacher , I remember her “Teacher Mode “ and voice ! I hope you have a less exciting day Marydoll

Taichinan Mon 29-Apr-24 08:49:42

Good morning all. I've just lost my post so I'll just leave it at that! The sun shines, the rain is on its way and the Monday chores beckon. Have a good day everyone 🌟☔🦋

harrigran Mon 29-Apr-24 09:07:06

Good morning from a dry NE after a very wet day yesterday.
I received a phone call yesterday cancelling my covid booster and suggested a date during my holidays.
I was quite cross it takes a lot of rearrangement of family plans to get me to appointments. I was told " just go online and rebook", none of the other venues were even in my town 🙄
GD2 played the piano, she enjoys playing Satie and Einaudi. DS played Morpeth rant and several jigs on the banjo.
I watched The Piano when the family went home, it was very moving.
I believe my elder sister is going to visit this afternoon, I will get to hear all about the excursions and theatre trips she has been on. She is 5.5 years older than me but manages to get around far better than me.
Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Mon 29-Apr-24 09:29:18

Marydoll it all sounds very stressful. I have to admit I went into teacher mode this morning when dgs1 decided to run in the nursery garden. "Walk!" Thundered I. And he did.

Stilllearning Mon 29-Apr-24 09:31:44

Morning from South Lanarkshire, damp and miserable as is it’s wont at the moment.

Heading off soon for yoga then childminding as usual on a Monday but couldn’t resist telling this tale from my teaching days Marydoll
I was working in a school in a fairly rough area although 90% of the parents and children were great.
Anyhow, First Communion Day and one of the girls had on a massive dress which had a hoop round the hem (aka Cinderella). A colleague was explaining to her that she should carefully lift her dress a bit when she knelt down to prevent any damage to it, when the indignant mother exclaimed “She’s no b****y kneeling down in that dress”!
Happy days😂

Wishing everyone a good day

Scapa1 Mon 29-Apr-24 09:48:45

Marydoll and Grandmabatty once a teacher always a teacher. My husband has on occasion said “don’t use your teacher voice at home!”. Marydoll I don’t know how you keep calm some people have no appreciation of what you do. I am off out to lunch today with a couple of friends at Thr Riverhouse in Stirling. Tomorrow DH and I are going to the Playhouse in Edinburgh to see “The Drifters Girl” with pizza include. It was a Xmas gift from DS and DinL. May be interesting!

Blossoming Mon 29-Apr-24 09:48:55

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 12°C.

The temperature is in double figures, hope this is a sign it’s going to be warmer. I enjoyed my walk in the sunshine yesterday, but the wind was bitter. We haven’t had any rain for some days. Nothing planned for today, other than housework, physio and a walk.

Wishing you all a Happy Monday 🌻

glammagran Mon 29-Apr-24 09:48:58

We visited the Keukenhof gardens in 2019 when my son and his family were living in Den Haag which isn’t very far away. It was beautiful and very memorable. Really enjoyed the Escher museum in the city too.

glammagran Mon 29-Apr-24 09:56:03

Just realised one of these photos is a stock photo rather than one of my own. Apologies.

hollysteers Mon 29-Apr-24 10:24:31

Good morning Mick and from Cloudy Chambers after a disturbed night due to cramp, despite using my muscle lotion and drinking Indian tonic water..

Lovely day yesterday in North Wales in brilliant sunshine. I had to take off a couple of layers as I set out dressed for the Arctic. Coincidentally saw a friend from the art group on the bus. Quite a long day, but such wonderful scenery.

I will finish the book for the meeting tomorrow, I’m not keen on it and it has made little impression on me.
Some pics of the Hidden Garden of Anglesey.
