Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright and clear with very little cloud but dry here in brackley this morning.
Usual routine bus trip to Bicester , plus a coffee break and small shop , before returning home to do general housework this afternoon.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dry but, instead of rain, we are promised a windy day but at least it’s from the South West which should be less biting than the recent East wind!

Yesterday at church, as we are in an interregnum, we had a visiting, retired cleric from Exeter, whose sermon was short but gave food for thought. Since Jerusalem was one of the hymns, I was relieved that I wasn’t on the rota to be the accompanist for the early service!

Bon voyage to Liberty! I wonder if your trip includes a visit to the Keukenhof Gardens, which I’d love to see. 🌷We were due to take a cruise that included them but it was cancelled. It was in the Spring of 2020. Need I say more?! ☹️

I hope those in pain of any kind find comfort this week and safe passage to all travellers. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

And hola 👋 from me too in 🇪🇸 Mick where we’re promised another dry day but rain later this evening which is fine as I got two loads of washing dried on the terrace yesterday 🌞

Lovely photos yesterday from GG and Blue S on her cruise, with Liberty joining the cruising fraternity soon - what fun🍹!

I’m off to a Babes wot Brunch at a local bar with Pimms and Picnic and a singer to entertain us 🕺🏻 while the menfolk meet up for a beer and we join them later!

Will pop back this evening to read of all your bizzinesses 😉

Good morning from yet another grey day in Bristol. Will this dreary weather ever change?
I had a surprise this morning, being required to sign in to GN again! Why?
Yesterday was quiet. In the announcements at church, my piccalilli was mentioned. It sells very well. What astonished me is that people have to be begged to give me empty jars. I had my last login Kent well trained!
A quiet afternoon, sorting through leftover patchwork squares to make a quilt as prize in one of the church raffles. I think my mojo is slowly coming back.
Today. I shall go to the library after toddler group. It is a good 20 minute walk from here. I’m returning a book which is well worth reading. A dramatised biography, “the librarian of auschwitz” is well worth a read; not a bundle of fun but worth it.
Hope today brings happiness to all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Adventure, docked in Piraeus; almost 8am here. Brilliant sunshine 🌞outside and a very warm day ahead.

Yesterday we were anchored off Hydra; I decided not to go ashore as I do not like tenders at the best of times, and it looked a bit choppy with a slight swell.

Enjoyed my stay on board, and could admire Hydra from the ship. Got a lot of reading done!
Mid afternoon I visited the hairdresser and was very pleased with my cut and re-style.

Had dinner and drinks with new friends, and then went to the crew cabaret - half a dozen talented singers who entertained us wonderfully.

I am on a panoramic coach tour of Athens later this morning, and looking forward to my first view of the Acropolis.

Have a good Monday everyone.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and it's been raining. It's fairly bright at the moment. Ash I love Jerusalem, both the words and the music. Pantglas have a lovely day. It sounds nice.
I had such a good weekend with dgs1. We had fun. Yesterday afternoon I visited mum and it took her a while to recognise me which was sad.
Today is early childcare day. I'm off shortly to get the boys. I'm hoping it stays dry so dgs2 and I can get out in the garden. Dgs1 has been told not to run about at nursery so his leg can heal. I'll advise the staff but don't hold out much hope of that happening. Fish pie(freezer) for dinner. Dgs2 will have lentil soup for lunch. Woe betide I give him something else!😂 Have a good day all.

RosesandLilac Mon 29-Apr-24 06:06:06

Good morning, it’s grey, cloudy and damp here in south Glos, I’m hoping it’s less chilly too.
Yesterday was quiet, apart from dog walks and usual chores I just pottered around. I got the washing dried so ironing to do this morning.
I would love a cruise but DH wouldn’t go anywhere so doing it on my own doesn’t appeal. He’s refusing to do anymore holidays so I’m going to have to see what happens.
Have a lovely day 🌹

BlueSapphire Mon 29-Apr-24 06:08:29

The pretty little island of Hydra yesterday, as viewed from on board.

cornergran Mon 29-Apr-24 06:09:48

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is dry if a bit draughty this morning.

Busy day yesterday, all sorts to fill it. The week looks like it will carry on like that with lots of whizzing around so apologies in advance if I’m not about. I sometimes think there was more quiet time when I worked more than full time! Suspect just better organised.

Good to hear about the cruises, our neighbours are departing on one in a couple of days, they are very excited at the prospect of warm if not hot sunshine.

Thinking of all finding life hard going. Hope Monday is kind to us all.

Greyduster Mon 29-Apr-24 06:10:54

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the day is looking very promising. I have been awake since ten past three so will probably be asleep by lunch time! Had a lovely lunch out yesterday with DD and the menfolk - our local pub did us proud. Today will mostly be concentrated on admin matters, a bit of grass cutting if it stays dry and possibly a walk.
Have the best day you can, folks.

karmalady Mon 29-Apr-24 06:18:06

Good morning, dry cool and soon windy in s somerset

Blue sapphire, I am enjoying your cruise adventures and photos. I am glad you are having a lovely time

I am just about to put my tender plants out again for the day, it has been worth the faff as they are so strong now. Most will be re-located

Today? no idea, nothing needs doing urgently. maybe a bit of cleaning maintenance and a walk with quite a bit of relaxation this afternoon. Nice not to have a tail wagging the dog

Have a good day

Good morning from a rainy, cloudy Cornwall. I'll take my coffee and sit out under my big see-through umbrella in a minute. Yesterday we had sun, hail and rain, very strange. My granddaughter popped in for two hours unexpectedly and we made sandwiches with clay. Then she went off to see a ropewalk her daddy and the other fathers in their cul de sac had created in a play area near their homes. A good catch up with my younger son after that, with laughter as usual.

Today a sorting session in my workroom, a trip to the dentist and the library and a charity shop with books I won't be reading again. Later I will sit and continue reading Winston Graham's memoirs. His book The Grove of Eagles is one of my favourites, so brilliantly researched.

glammagran Mon 29-Apr-24 06:38:21

Good morning from North Wiltshire. The weather looks like it will be a little better than the forecast suggested it would be.

Saturday was spent making loads of sausage rolls for DGS2’s 3rd birthday party for the extended family. It all went without a hitch with NO tantrums. His parents are signing him up to start rugby tots shortly. I think this would suit him very well. One photo with his sister. One shows quite an angelic looking child. 😈 😂 😈

Yesterday, DGS1 (13) was competing for a place to swim for SE England (one level below national level) for swimming backstroke. He won his heat (one of 10) but didn’t quite make the final. He was the youngest competitor though in his age band. We watched live on YouTube.

I hope your acquaintance is going to recover from that most traumatic accident Marydoll. Very envious of your Greek stops BlueSapphire. I haven’t been to Greece since the 1980’s. Adventure is a lovely ship. GrandmaBatty I hope your DGS1’s foot gets better quickly so he can get back to football.

Have a good Monday all - hope everyone sees some sun today.

baubles Mon 29-Apr-24 06:47:29

Good morning from bright and sunny South Lanarkshire. Let’s hope it lasts.

We had taken one of DD’s children with us to visit DS yesterday, the girls had a lot of fun making slime, amused them for ages.

Charity shop shift today, the sunshine should encourage shoppers.

Have the best day possible everyone.

kittylester Mon 29-Apr-24 06:51:18

Good morning from a bright but chilly North Leicestershire.

Our first choir event of the year went well yesterday and there were lots of people at the Spring Fair despite the torrential rain.

Today, DH is off to the gym and I have no 4 of 5 zoom sessions for Carer's. After lunch I have a hair appointment.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Susan56 Mon 29-Apr-24 06:55:09

Good morning from North Wales. Not sure what the weather is like as I am not moving until the children wake up!

Ash we were meant to go to Keukenhof Gardens in 2020 too.

An emotional day yesterday.DGD was very upset when mummy and daddy left.I took them to the minibus which was taking them to Gatwick and felt emotional too.I will miss DD.She has written notes for the children for each night she is away and yesterday they each had a new book as well.

This morning after dropping DGD at school I will pop into town.Back home to take H to school then home to do admin.Collect H at 3.15 then we are going to visit the other grandparents.DGD is going to a friends for tea then her friends mum will take her to dance.

Cute picture glammagran😊

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

NannyJan53 Mon 29-Apr-24 07:02:35

Good morning from a much brighter Black Country.

Walking group this morning, then dash home for lunch, then out again for Line Dancing.

MrJ is off to the gym after his first visit yesterday. I shall hold off joining until after our holiday next week now.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Bellasnana Mon 29-Apr-24 07:03:16

Good morning from Malta where it’s very windy but sunny with a high of 22°C.

The boys were both up when I arrived at 6.50 this morning so I think they will be taking an early nap.

Due to the gales I don’t think I will be taking them out as it blows so much dust about which is not pleasant at all.

Later I shall go home and watch the tennis from Madrid.

The parcel I received from a friend contained a pair of pyjamas with what she thought were tennis racquets all over them. On closer inspection I noticed shuttlecocks in amongst the racquets which would indicate badminton, but I haven’t the heart to tell her. It was a kind gesture.

Wishing you all a good day ☀️

Bonnybanko Mon 29-Apr-24 07:09:44

Good morning everyone the suns starting to rise brightly on the east coast of Fife it looks like another sunny start to the day..

I’ll be booking my train ticket soon to Aberdeen as I going to travel to stay at my dds home for a couple of nights and I’m so excited I’ve not been on a train since my stroke 5 yrs ago

glammagran what a georgeous photo of your angel

brook2704 Mon 29-Apr-24 07:11:12

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s a bright and sunny start to the day but the rain is due later this afternoon
It’s tough for the little ones when parents go away Susan56 but the bedtime notes sound a lovely idea and the time will pass quickly. You sound really well organised, well done and hope Day 1 goes well 😀
We’ve got the school run first thing with DGS and then I’m coming home to get on with the gardening - later it’ll have to be the dreaded housework if it’s raining. It’s funny how I really enjoy working outside in the garden but not inside in the house
Lovely pictures glammagran thanks
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 29-Apr-24 07:15:26

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. The sky is blue!
While I’m doing a Waitrose shop, OH will visit his bees.
Not sure about the rest of the day apart from a bit of admin and I may make a cake to take to friends tomorrow.
Have a good day.

Beechnut Mon 29-Apr-24 07:18:25

Good morning everyone from an overcast Severnside.

My daughter came on Saturday and helped me with a few jobs that I was unable to do on my own. Yesterday I popped to Lidl for a few things and also came out with a new washing basket and water butt. I resisted the rest of the middle!

Today is bed changing and washing.

Have a good day all 🌷

GrannyGravy13 Mon 29-Apr-24 07:18:28

Morning all, the sun is shining here in S E Essex, let’s hope it stays 🌞

I had a lovely day yesterday, daughter in law and myself popped into the O2 for some retail therapy after a superb breakfast in our hotel. A pair of sparkly trainers jumped into my arms in Kurt Geiger along with some rather lovely tops in Ted Baker - Oops

I was back home in time for DD’s birthday meal at the local Turkish restaurant round tie corner from DS4’s house (who also joined us)

Gym first thing, then I must get on with the laundry.

Enjoy your Monday whatever it may bring 🙋‍♀️

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 29-Apr-24 07:24:34

Good morning from a sunny but very cold Oxfordshire, rain is due later I think.

Dog walk today, hopefully MzOops completion will go through on her cottage, from the photos she and her mates are doing a brilliant job of moving her out, the removal company wanted Thousands to move her and her mates just want £100 a day each plus they have a large van, fingers crossed it all goes well and that she gets a date for her ‘new’ house very soon. I think she will be up tomorrow with the GDs stuff for our garage.
I just need some room to get to the freezer.

Dog walk later and a tidy up, have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Mon 29-Apr-24 07:32:55

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7°C. We gave rain forecast later.

glammagran, thank you for your good wishes, my friend is still in a coma. 😔 His family are distraught.

Athens was on my now defunct bucket list, Blue, I'm envious. Roses my husband also refused to cruise, despite my friends all raving about cruising. I can sympathise.

Yesterday turned out to be a very stressful day. To quote Dollie, that must be the most mental Mass I have been too!
I came out of a sacristy to see a five year old running about with a lighted taper, having lit all the votive candles (without paying), while his father ignored his behaviour. I went straight into teacher mode.😡

After Mass started, a young gentleman came and sat in the front row, with four under fives in tow and had the most laid back attitude to parenting I have ever seen. The children basically were allowed to do what they liked and were climbing all over the seats, disturbing everyone. When an elderly parishioner tried to help one of the wild children, the father turned round and told her to stop stressing about HIS children. Dollie was horrified!
Then I heard a noise behind me, a young toddler had been sick on the floor. I morphed into cleaning mode!.

It just got worse as the day went on. The catechists didn't turn up for the class and I realised that I had a class of fifty five children in front of me and no teachers, (I don't usually teach, just deal with the parents and admin).
Already having been verbally abused by some parents, after telling them that the church wasn't elastic and the number of guests for the First Communion was immediate family only, ^ but I have a very large family^ was the cry I decided I couldn't send the children away, (and face wrath of the parents) so would have to take the class with no prep and no resources.😱

I rounded up some parishioners, who had PVGs (Disclosures) and reverted to teacher mode! It took me back to my teaching days, when often in my management role I had to parachute into a class without warning.
Poor Dollie was mortified that her gran was taking the class. 1😂

I got home to find screenshot of chat from DIL from some unpleasant parents, who have been stirring things. Instead of messaging the PP, I accidently phoned him because I was so distracted.
Unfortunately, he was watching a very tense football game. I immediately hung up.

This morning I am going to try and unblock a sink at church, then their will be a practice with the children to arrange seating.
The PP has his ideas and the school staff have theirs. I have decided it is best to withdraw from the practice and find some chores to do, because sparks will probably try.

I wish you all a gentle and pleasant day. I hope mine is. 😂
