Good Morning Everyone,
Up earlier than normal , its just daylight and dry.
Plans are quick breakfast then go outside see the morning in with local Morris Dancers and flowed by a beer in pub .
Return home expecting a Wiltshire order as well ,and hopefully the weather holds out so a few other things can be done .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from coastal West Sussex. The sun is shining but rain forecast later. I’ve had a couple of busy days and a disturbed night with an irritable bladder so am planning a restful day. Mind you, I’ve just said I will join DH at the allotment for a bit of compost turning. There are also several bags of llama poo to transport there - acquired by DH at a farm/visitor centre where he volunteers.

Oops, you will be like the old woman in the story, where she told the wise man her house was too small and she was advised to take in various animals until it really was full - when he told her to get rid of them all she was delighted how much space there was 😂

Thoughts with all with pain and anxiety.

Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. Morris dancing and a beer sounds good, Mick.

A very late good morning one and all. The haar is in on the Angus coast and it feels very chilly but what's new
Yesterday turned into a glorious day but I was for some reason dreadfully tired after tai chi and shopping and missed most of it as I fell asleep after lunch. What a waste!
Bluesapphire I am so enjoying your cruise! Thank you for keeping the photos coming
Mizuna so sorry you're feeling a bit down about not seeing your DD. I hope that op is not too far off now. I really do admire how you keep on going the way you do flowers
Another unhelpful delivery man Roses - the company(s) you're dealing with are not serving you well at all.
Today I will complete the tai chi paperwork for last month and then blitz the kitchen. Sausage and mash I think for this evening's meal - much needed comfort food as the haar has added rain through it now and it's all coming out of the north-east. Heating back on methinks. Roll on summer!
Enjoy your day everyone, especially those with warmth and sun 🦋☀️🦋

Glammagran DGD was dreadful with her car seat. One memorable day it took 45 minutes to get her in the seat with help from a police officer and a lovely elderly couple singing songs to her🤦🏼‍♀️worst childcare day ever!

I don’t have lots of energy😴I started driving to town after school drop off then turned round and came home.Am having a day off everything but the bare necessities to recharge ready for tomorrows list of activities.

Mizuna I am sorry you have had to cancel your daughters visit.

Hope you feel better after a new pain patch and a restful day Marydoll.

Morning from sunny South Lanarkshire, hurray👏👏👏

One minute I’m waking up and the next so much time has passed I’m in a rush, I get so annoyed at myself but I don’t suppose I’m going to change now.

Mizuna, I’m really sorry you’re having such a hard time at the moment, I hope you feel better soon.
Grandamabatty your pasta sounds lovely, Enjoy!

As ever your cruise posts lift my spirits BlueSapphire thanks.

Glammagran, re car seats, my grandson cooperated with the reward of a (one) Smartie. If he was being particularly difficult he got to choose the colour. I have absolutely no idea why such a tiny promise worked but it did and eased my life greatly!
I promised it as we approached the car before the ‘rammy’ started!

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 13°C.

It’s feeling much warmer here and my aches and pains are less severe. It was another sunny day here yesterday and I had a lovely walk. MrB was happy that his plants seem to be thriving and I’m happy that he’s happy 😊

Nothing special planned for today, other than housework, physio and a walk down to the river. I must also remember to send my brother a birthday card.

Wishing you all a Happy May Day🌻

Good Morning from a bright Co Armagh ,
Off to the Wednesday Club, I’ve forgotten what we are doing , think it depends on whether one Member has got over her cold , she offered to do a bowling activity I think
Have the best day possible everyone

baubles Wed 01-May-24 09:20:52

Good morning all, it’s dry and still here in South Lanarkshire.

It was good to see my Gransnet friend yesterday.

Today I’m not going to my yoga class, and can’t decide whether to return at all. I know it’s supposed to be good for back problems but I’m wary of causing more damage.

Will potter outside for a bit, walk the daft dug, and have a quiet day I think.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grey skies and yet more rain forecast - we will all evolve with webbed feet soon. I long for enough dry weather to dry the washing but there is no sign of that yet. Singing this afternoon and am hoping not to cough though if I do i will just have to listen instead. Lovely cruise pictures and memories of places visited in a former life, so thank you.

Grandmabatty Wed 01-May-24 08:55:45

Glammagran I feel your pain. Dgs2 used to have a thing about going in the car seat and I resorted to bribery to get him in!

glammagran Wed 01-May-24 08:40:32

Good morning. Too early to say how the weather will pan out.
We could hear artillery fire from Salisbury plain last night after we went to bed even though it’s miles away. It finished at 11:30pm.

Yesterday DGS2 “helped” DH plant various things. He so loves being outside. However not all went well, as it took DH 10 minutes to get him in his car seat after going to a park in the morning. I just can’t wrestle with him anymore. His sister was a lot easier on Monday. We watched a 30 minute video of extreme weather events on YouTube with her. She is obsessed with tornados atm.

Hope you are holding up Susan56 looking after your GC and that your GD quickly got over being upset at her parent’s absence. I’ve no idea where you get the energy from.

BlueSapphire I looked at your 22 night cruise but we can’t go away for that long as it would put DD2 in a real predicament without childcare. From September 2025 they will both be in full time school so it will be easier then.

Have a good day everyone.

BlueSapphire Wed 01-May-24 08:25:44

Urms I am sure you would love Adventure! Fewer than 1000 passengers, every cabin has a balcony, amazing smiling and kind staff for whom nothing is too much trouble, wonderful food..... I could go on. It's definitely my sort of holiday.

EkwaNimitee Wed 01-May-24 08:23:13

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Yesterday I went for a stroll in the country park in so-so weather--it wasn't raining and only a little windy!
Today I shall be out shortly, I have a hair appointment in town. I am also hoping to offload more books in the charity shop and may well treat myself to a ready meal from M&S. I shall also need coffee...I have been cutting back on it recently as the prices are getting silly....

Wishing you all a sunny, happy May Day.

hollysteers Wed 01-May-24 08:23:00

Good morning Mick and all and white rabbits from a chilly northwest coast.
Busy day yesterday, music club with small turnout (which means more songs to sing!) and a member’s birthday so we had homemade chocolate cake and Victoria sponge.

In the evening to bookgroup at the quirky flat of the friend who had chosen the book, ‘House of Doors’ 20 miles away. The nibbles etc were delicious but the book was generally not liked.
My DSon turned up too and although he hadn’t read the book, had quite a lot to say…I haven’t seen him for a while as he has been abroad with his band, so it was lovely to see him.

I have cancelled my covid jab today as I have a sore throat and feel I have a cold coming on.
💐Mizuna and thoughts to all with worries 🌺

Alygran Wed 01-May-24 08:06:28

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s cloudy but dry.

A friend is coming this morning and we are off to Barnard Castle to the museum. She is very interested in fashion and wants to see the Vivienne Westwood exhibition. I have already been but it’s worth a second trip.
Have a good day everyone.

Georgesgran Wed 01-May-24 08:06:11

Good morning from a sunny, blue sky Durham. Yesterday was glorious, but still a very cold wind. I managed to spend a fortune without leaving the house! The Octopus saga rumbles on - I’m very disappointed with them.
I have an appointment at Specsavers this morning, it’s always a worry that there’s something amiss.
Later, I must drag an old freezer down the drive for collection tomorrow.
Best wishes to all. X

harrigran Wed 01-May-24 08:06:05

Good morning from a dry and slowly brightening NE.
Did a couple of loads of washing and read the magazines my sister brought me.
Today my friend is coming to take me shopping as DS is finding it increasingly difficult to juggle work and helping me.
I will have to take painkillers before I leave the house as I am suffering with shoulder pain.
Lovely to hear more tales of the cruise.
Hoping we are now going to see an improvement in the weather.

Gala Wed 01-May-24 08:04:51

Good morning from an overcast but brightening Sefton. A high of 17 is forecast for today. A pleasantly warm afternoon yesterday spent in the garden moving plants around. It became very windy so retreated to my tiny summerhouse with a book... double doors open wide but out of the wind.
Covid jab first thing, then Pilates, a quick lunch & off to pick up youngest GD from nursery this afternoon. We will stay for our tea.
Take care all.

Urmstongran Wed 01-May-24 08:04:32

BlueSapphire I was reading an article in the Saga magazine about the cruise ship Adventure. It looks wonderful and not so awfully huge as others. If anything could persuade me to try a cruise your enjoyable accounts and photos would do the trick!
I’ve loved reading about your holiday thank you for sharing.

Marydoll Wed 01-May-24 07:59:24

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 10°C.
After an awful night, with little sleep, I'm feeling pretty rotten. I think I may have forgotten to change my painkilling patch, which may be the cause.
My brain is mush just now.

Yesterday, the PP phoned the landline three times yesterday, looking for me and I was out! 🤣 There were also missed calls on my mobile. Which I hadn't seen.
DH said the PP was obviously concerned that I might walk away. He and DH had a very long chat about everything which happened over the weekend. My DH does not mince his words!

Later, when the PP caught up with me, I told him that I had been indulging in some retail therapy to cheer me up and I was sending him the bill.. His reply: No problem!

Last night I looked at my phone and yes, there was a message from the PP, saying that the company, who live stream our services advised that the problem wasn't with them, but due to a fault on our website.😱
I hadn't a clue what I was doing, but I have surprised even myself, because within five minutes it was sorted and live again.
The person who invented You Tube should get a Nobel prize! Its my go to troubleshooter.

Today we have an alarm service, but I am off to the hairdressers for a cut, so that my hair is OK for the First Communion next .
I may cut DH's later. Shallow person that I am, I don't want to be sitting in my glad rags, next to a scruffy old man! 😉

Muzuna, I felt quite sad for you and your daughter. Life has so many disappointments, when you have health issues.
Susan pace yourself and Baubles, I hope you enjoyed your day with x.

Enjoy your day, folks.

Grammaretto Wed 01-May-24 07:58:23

Happy May Day morning everyone!
A sunny day at last and the birds are all singing at once.
I'm out in my willow bower drinking my tea.
Sorry to read that you aren't up to having your DD to stay Mizuna
Our bodies let us down sometimes.

gMattie is a whirlwind of activity.

Lovely Greek village photos Blue

I met another GNer for coffee yesterday which was nice though the first café was full so we had to find another!
Yarn group this morning and I hope a delivery of pottery supplies. clay

Have the best day you can everyone with sunshine 🌞

Here's the Cherry tree in a Peebles' churchyard

Gingster Wed 01-May-24 07:57:34

Good morning all and like Bonnybanks says , it’s very Misty here on the East coast. The sky is bright and the sun is trying to break through. No wind here at all , very unusual. It was strange to step out the back door and not be blown around. 💨.

Yesterday I painted more outside furniture and then our lovely neighbour came in for tea and cake. It was her birthday so we gave her chocs and flowers. She’s a very good neighbour and the only one we have, so we must look after her.

Today we have a sofa bed arriving - lots of visitors are due this summer, so this will help ease the sleeping arrangements.

I plan to go to the cinema this afternoon to see Mothers Intuition. It looks quite good - I had hoped to see the Amy Winehouse film but that was on last week. I love to see a film in our little cinema here - the oldest one around .

Mizuna what a shame your knee is playing up. Hopefully it will get sorted soon. Not like you to be down in the dumps. 💐.
Rose and lilac I can’t believe your delivery drivers are still playing the ‘Covid card’. Will you have your lovely helpful neighbour to give you a hand in erecting it? Send us pics when it’s all done.
Bluesapphire 🛳️ have a restful day.
Enjoy the day.🌸. Hoping all those coughs are on the way out.

Grandmabatty Wed 01-May-24 07:55:24

Good morning all from Polmont where it's 10° and with low cloud. I thinks it's an East haar so might burn off later. Mizuna that is sad for you. I hope you can get your knee fixed soon. Susan don't overdo things!
Yesterday was another good day. Dgs2 and I were indeed out in the garden. The restocked sandpit is less stocked and there are quantities of the stuff all over. He took great delight in moving sand from one place to another. I think he might be a builder's mate when he's older. 😂 Later dgs1 was entranced by the nursery rhyme, Mary,Mary, quite contrary and learned the words and tune in the car going home to sing to his parents. He also got a really good report from the nursery. His teacher said he's more than ready for primary one. Whether primary one is ready for him is another matter!
Today is my lazy day. I slept late and enjoyed it. I will have to go out for birthday presents and cards as two of my friends have birthdays today. Both of them are away, so it isn't urgent, but nonetheless I'll get them something today or I'm liable to forget.I might visit mum later, I'll see how the day goes. Chicken and chorizo pasta for dinner. Have a good day all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 01-May-24 07:53:37

Pinch punch, first of the month. White rabbits 🐰
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
It is the monthly WI coffee morning, which is usually a hoot. OH will pop and see his bees today. He is rather wary after being stung badly the other day. He is still quite swollen.
WI committee meeting this evening. It is OH’s turn to cook, so dinner should be on the table when I get back!
Have a good day everyone, especially those of you with difficulties.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 01-May-24 07:42:45

Good morning from a bright South Downs, but forecast is for rain later.

I have so enjoyed our lunches in the garden and sunbathing with a book over the last two days.

Today I’m meeting a friend for pub lunch in the Sussex countryside. Time to catch up with all the news we both have.

Our sparrow is so industrious, joined by his wife. There was a bit of a bust up with another sparrow, probably speculating for potential nesting sites. I would have thought there was sufficient room for dozens in the loft, but clearly the first comers didn’t think so - a question of nimby-ism I think.

May Day - When I was a child I used to dance around the maypole - in our white dresses with flowery headdresses. Does it still happen? Certainly the Morris’s dancers are out in force in local villages like Steyning - a fun start to the summer.

Well enjoy your May Day - however you celebrate it - did anyone go out and wash their face in the dew? I’m still in bed😄

Peace and harmony to the world.

NannyJan53 Wed 01-May-24 07:31:05

Good morning from a cloudy Black Country after a lovely sunny, albeit windy day yesterday.

Lovely meet up for lunch with my Aunt, cousin, Mum and Aunts BIL and his wife. It was my Aunt's birthday yesterday.

Today I have a Covid jab. It must be my 7th, I have lost count. Hopefully get in the garden this afternoon if it stays dry.

Wishing you all a lovely day.
