Dental x ray anxiety

I struggle with the x-ray procedure too. The apparatus digs in uncomfortably and I keep wanting to move it. It also makes me gag. If you can manage to hold on, it doesn't take very long.

Sorry to hear this Clara but your dentist did tell you what you were doing wrong - he said you were pushing the x-ray away, presumably meaning the little plate in your mouth. You just need to keep very still, (keep your tongue still) for a few seconds.

Your dentist sounds rather harsh and impatient if he didn’t explain what you needed to do . I have had X-rays and my dentist puts the little plate in my mouth where she needs it and asks me to bite but not move the plate. Please don’t think it is you that is doing something wrong it’s your dentist.
