I am ashamed to say ‘yes’ - even thinking about it, hurts me.

Evidence on Andy Burnham's National Care Service proposals
I am ashamed to say ‘yes’ - even thinking about it, hurts me.
I don't shout or throw things but I mutter with intent - usually b*** on repeat.
I find making a cake by hand is useful too - my creamed butter and sugar is certainly light and fluffy by the time I've finished with it!
Really angry? Yes, recently when I realised I'd booked the wrong hotel at Heathrow. I went to bed really upset with myself for not checking that the Terminal 5 hotel and the Terminal 5 carpark were next to each other. OH has booked everything else for the holiday; I just had one job.....
Its a good thing I chose never to have children as I would probably have beaten them black and blue. My father has a very violent explosive temper and thats where I get it from. I also had red hair before it turned white. Nowadays I avoid potentially explosive situations like the plague.
I agree life’s too short. I’m pretty laid back though I don’t suffer fools. I’m not one for shouting or throwing things.
Life's too short to get angry about stuff.
I did once try using the f word but I didn't get any feeling of release from it so I haven't bothered since.
I always reckon that people do things for a reason so I never get cross about it.
I would probably explode in the event that I witnessed cruelty to a child or animal (well almost certainly) but I rarely ever do get angry.
In a way I think the ability to explode is probably a good tension release, provided that person knows when to stop and does no harm to others in the explosion.
No, I tend to seethe inwardly, like a hidden lake of molten lava.
I think the occasional eruption is probably healthier.
FranA all the time there’s some who fail to listen to me properly just because I’m in a wheelchair if I want to go right they might take me left it’s not all about my helpers it’s about my needs and I don’t have eyes in the back of my head when someone says did you see that🤬🤬
Nope, I very rarely experience anger.
I used to and that was in retaliation - I identified the root cause - and divorced him.
Life is so much calmer now, my OH is so laid back he's almost horizontal
Occasionally, circumstances will annoy me but I see little point in getting stressed about trivial matters and anyone that deliberately tries to get under my skin gets the cold shoulder.
Another redhead here. I too have a very fiery temper and have been known to explode on occasions.
I am not proud of it.
It is when I go quiet my nearest and dearest know it is the calm before the storm,I was very feisty when I was younger, not so much now, calm and even tempered, can be heard muttering FFS when things dont go according to plan
I’m very calm luckily, but my DH used to have a terrible temper to the extent he frightened both me and the children. Nowadays I would say it was abuse. He has addressed this now and realised it caused problems in the past. Life is much calmer!
The situation you describe coolgran65 is happening in this house very ofyen. Drives me mad with frustration. I know I am going to explode one day until then the frustration is building up inside which is not good. Better to let it out I think.
I did once recently.
My DH was driving for the first time since his aortic repair.
Cautiously at first then saying "this driving's easy".
Then there's a loud crash on my side of the car. He had scraped the side of a parked car.
I was furious.
Fortunately not too much bad damage was done. And I drove home.
My language was unbeatable.
I'm sure we all know what you mean. You put up with things and then suddenly something is the last straw and you explode. It's a great release of tension.
I recently 'lost it' with some teenagers who were trespassing in our garden. They were big lads but they couldn't get out fast enough! I was surprised how good I felt afterwards, so I obviously needed an excuse to shout!
Only once in my life when EE, then Orange disconnected disabled DD2’s phone for no reason. They said she hadn’t paid her bill, but it came out of my account with mine! That day, she was driving from Sheffield to Newcastle in dreadful conditions and out of contact. I was furious - it turned out someone in Guilford had fraudulently ordered a brand new iPhone using her details and Orange had suspended DD2’s service without a word of warning.
Otherwise, I’m an extremely calm person.
FranA, don't feel too bad; obviously you were feeling a lot of stress, and blasting forth expletives was a good way to blow off some steam.
I rarely blow up, but I remember once years ago, one of my teenagers got really snotty with me on the telephone, and I slammed down the receiver about 10 times in a row, I could have broken the phone! The other two kids and hubby watched in horror. I think I actually frightened them! But I tell you, they tiptoed around me for days afterwards, knowing that I could actually be pushed beyond my limits.
I can't even remember what the phone call was about, but you know how awful teens can be to their mums.
In most arguments I use very hurtful sarcasm and the looks which imply that the other person is something particularly filthy beneath my shoe. When I go nuclear I am capable of extreme verbal (and physical) violence which scares most people so much that they avoid me thereafter. I once told someone I would cut their throat and drink their blood while advancing with a freezer knife. It was a burglar and he jumped 16 feet from the balcony in fright.
I used to. I was very feisty until I got to 55 then got a bit calmer
I rarely lose my temper but if I do I am a volcano. My husband has only seen the volcano once and that was about two weeks after moving house when we were stressed beyond sanity trying to sort internet connection, electricity hassle and BT telephone issues all with great difficulty. At the same time my DH was putting up a clothes line, the metal pole type with the line attached to a pulley on the wall of the house. Where he was going to erect the pole (dig a hole and cement it in) was beyond ridiculous. The clothes would have been hanging across the patio!! He wouldn't listen to my reasoning and I lost it and said I'd throw the F-ing pole in the river and I meant it. The river is just behind us.
Eventually he saw sense and the clothes line is in the perfect spot across the grass.
Another near miss was the length of the curtain poles. In Dunelm he said my measurements were too long. I disagreed but said, have it your way. I was so angry. He bought them to his measurements.... not allowing for the fullness of the curtains at either side as my measurements had done. After putting up the first curtain pole and hanging the curtains which of course half covered the window, he had to take it down to return it along with the other 4 poles and get them exchanged to my measurements.
I also never use the F word in my daily life........ However it is often very useful.
I know I will be accused of stereotyping as I have a few times here through pm. I often explode like a volcano and always have it went with the hair colour. I am white haired now but still have eruptions I don’t suppose it’s going to change just like leopards don't change their spots.
Yes I have done. Don't beat yourself up over it. I hope it made you feel better.
No, I don’t. Just not in my nature though I have come across plenty who do. I make sarcastic comments when I am very angry .
I just did. Earlier this evening, everything got on top of me. All of a sudden I realised all the things I was doing for other people and couldn’t think of anything that other people were doing for me. Out of the blue I exploded. I think I probably said the F word about 50 times. That is almost 50 times more than I have ever used it in my life. I have worked out how to calm myself down and move on. I just wanted to ask if anyone else had ever felt that angry and if so what do you do?
