Good Morning Everyone,
A bright and dry start to the day here in brackley this morning.
Back into my usual routine of things such as getting the bus to Bicester for a couple of hours and meet up with some I know.
And an afternoon doing the coach potato thing with Giro D,Italia on TV.
Take Care,
Mick

I am at the coo’s tail again. Overcast but not actually raining and the pollen is kept down by the showers.
Christian Aid week so very busy and have just spent an hour and a half setting up in church.
Off to the local coffee shop as I need a cup of oomph.
Thank you for all the interesting photos.

hollysteers Tue 07-May-24 10:26:26

Have a great trip Ashcombe, lovely photos today and thoughts to all with worries of any kind🌺

Good morning Mick and all from a bright northwest coast. Appointment this afternoon with consultant after barium meal results to hear what he suggests ‘ going forward’ as they say re my hernia🙄.
My BIL in the south has a keyhole heart op today after suffering a mild heart attack. I hope it goes well.

My cat miaows so much, even with food etc etc. I wish she could talk! I’m not a mind reader…
Took an evening walk again after my meal last night, hope I can keep it up.
DD comes later in the week and Dsister next week, so sheet changing etc.

Pic in our sand dunes, sketching and reading.

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 14°C.

I think we’ve seen the last of the warm sun for a while. No plans for today, MrB has been shopping and we’re now enjoying a cup of tea.

Wishing you all a good day 🌻

Grammaretto Tue 07-May-24 09:54:02

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Wet again.

I had a poor night and think I have flu! I will probably sleep most of the day.
I am expecting another quote for a new ceiling. Yesterday another roofer found plenty of places where the rain could be getting in. Very depressing

Enjoy your cruise Ash.
Well done on the tutus gMattie.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Yesterday was miserable all day so just got on with the washing and ironing.
Sister came for two hours and brought some old notebooks and other papers that had belonged to our father. He had kept a record of all his earnings and outgoings and even the number of hours worked, very long working weeks with ARP work at night.
In the notebook there were details covering the entire war all logged in my father's very neat writing and probably written with a fountain pen, the ink had not faded.
DD and SIL are coming this evening and we are going to GD's school concert in Durham, we will meet up with DS and DIL.
Lovely photos.
Happy holidays to those travelling.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I think it’s going to be warm, but is it sandal weather?
Hair cut this morning and popping round to a friend’s this evening.
Best wishes to all of you who are experiencing difficulties.

Yet another grey start to the day with light showers forecast so this sunny weather is missing my part of the world. Supermarket this morning but nothing else planned so the day will just unfold. Wonderful cleaner due any moment so must look ready for her welcome presence. Too much to comment on - I must post earlier!

Alygran Tue 07-May-24 08:39:57

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s cloudy and breezy. Washing is on so I hope it can go outside.
We missed the storms yesterday but there was flooding in Knaresbrough just along the road!
I need to go to buy a new pepper mill. I was trying to season some tomatoes last night and mine wasn’t working. The inside had disintegrated!
Have a good day everyone.

Taichinan Tue 07-May-24 08:32:07

Good morning all. It's a grey start on the Angus coast - but a brighter shade of grey forecast for the afternoon!
Beautiful tutus grandmattie - I hope all goes well with the Bank today.
The end of your wonderful cruise Bluesapphire - we're all going to miss your photos.
Oops if I were staying somewhere as perfect as that, I'd never want to go out and leave it! But hope Mr Oops recovers soon
Enjoy your cruise Ash and Olddudders.
After years of always hosting the international instructors who come and give us an intensive tai chi workshop, I was looking forward to this one on 18th and 19th May because someone else was persuaded to do the honours. But due to a sudden family bereavement that person can no longer do it ......... Even when I was 'younger' pre-covid I found the hosting and the doing exhausting. Now? Well let's just say I'll have to miss the middle of the day and go home and put my feet up for a couple of hours. It's so disappointing and of course being so deaf doesn't make it any easier either! Oh well, better stop moaning and get on with things.
Today is Tai chi again and at the moment I have no idea what I'm teaching - I shall step back and watch the first set and take it from there. This class is much less experienced than the Thursday one which makes it easier to find something that 'needs further explanation'.
Have a good day everyone and enjoy your sunshine, or at least a brighter shade of grey 🩶

Good morning from Sefton. A cloudy day is forecast but it is a bright sunny cloudless start to the day.☀️We are meeting our 'Welsh' friends for lunch in a country pub that is more or less halfway between us. It has a lovely garden with fantastic views - I wonder if it will be warm enough for al fresco dining.🤞 Zoom strength class first though. Must get cracking.

Liberty Tue 07-May-24 08:10:54

Good morning from another sunny day in Suffolk. In fact the same is forecast for all week.

I didn’t do half of the things I thought I would do yesterday but did manage to put lots of Vaseline on the huge pot with our emerging hosts which started shooting up last week. This is a tip given to me years and years ago by the granny of friends of ours. It stops slugs in their tracks from getting to eat the plant.

Meeting a friend for coffee later in the cafe of the local supermarket which has outdoor seating. We chose the venue before my trip last week so a lucky choice given the glorious weather today.

grandMattie the tutus are a little girl’s dream.

Good morning from a beautiful sunny South Downs, so welcome after yesterdays deluge. Heavy rain all day. My grandfather - a huge country estate gardener- used to say that we can never have too much rain in May. I do, however think there is a limit.

I have a horrible feeling that slugs and snails have been playing fast and loose with my dahlias. I know that we should value all wild life but my patience is stretched with them when they choose my plants over perfectly respectable other stuff to chomp on. I shall threaten them with a duck I think😄.

Knowle is not too far from us. It is a big house and lots to see. They use it in a lot in films. We are actually blessed with lots of NT, English heritage and that other one, here in the south.

Well, today I have a butcher delivery - and must get some washing done and dried. My green grocery box came with Japanese aubergines which I’ve never had before. So tonight’s meal is chicken, aubergine, mushroom Thai stirfry. They are supposed to be much less bitter and sweeter than ordinary aubergines as very little seeds in them.

Tomorrow is 1 month since my dear dog Duncan died.

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony to our world.

Jaxjacky Tue 07-May-24 08:04:12

Good morning, Ash it is glorious sunshine here, your cruise along The Solent will be lovely.
Beautiful work gMattie so clever.
We’re due 21 today, so out with the sun cream and into the garden after yesterdays rain. I too will be washing winter woolies karma.
I must book a pedicure, I’ve never had one before, a new experience.

Bonnybanko Tue 07-May-24 07:59:18

Good morning all.
My ring doorbell tells me it’s dry and windy outside. I’m still tired from my jaunts to Aberdeen and Edinburgh. I did enjoy my family visit where I was attacked by two lively gc and 2 beautiful retrievers who liked my bed ( while I was in it)
Today is a visit to the bank to sort out some business the funds are getting pretty low.

Have a good day my friends love to you all

cornergran Tue 07-May-24 07:46:48

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

Grocery delivery, blood test and a trip to a charity shop will fill the morning. After checking they are acceptable we’re taking the sort of small exercise equipment which seem like a good idea at the time but is never used. Or isn’t here!

Bon voyage ash. An external intervention definitely needed grandmattie. It’s been too long. Must dash or the groceries will be here and I won’t be dressed.

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Hiraeth Tue 07-May-24 07:42:14

GranMattie you are very talented . I hope you get enough thanks for the hard work .

Marydoll Tue 07-May-24 07:40:53

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C.

Enjoy your cruise, Ash, the weather is meant to be good at the weekend.
A very talented lady GM.
Susan, you will need a good rest and Bonny, I hope you get on well today.

I seem to have a bit of a chest infection, despite being on anti bionics permanently. I feel grim. This time of the year is problematic for me, due to the high tree pollen levels.
It is very high today and my eyes are constantly streaming. I need to clear it, or my new treatment can't go ahead,

Enjoy your day folks, whatever your plans.

luluaugust Tue 07-May-24 07:32:50

Good morning from a sunny W Kent, you should be ok for your visit to Knole Gingster. Wow to the tutus gM. Enjoy your cruise Ash we did a similar cruise a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.
A day of ironing and shopping lies ahead but slowly getting there.
Best wishes to all

Aldom Tue 07-May-24 07:30:48

Beautiful tutu's GrandMattie.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for you today and hoping the bank will reimburse you following the scam. Good luck. shamrock

RosiesMaw Tue 07-May-24 07:29:03

Good morning from N Bucks where it is lovely and sunny again.
I am taking an older friend out for coffee this morning and then hope to investigate some “use it or lose it” classes locally as I am still having trouble with my knee and hip.
Lucky you Gingster - you will be able to see the current exhibition at Knole showing a stunning recreation of Vita Sackville West’s wedding dress entirely in paper! I shall be interested to know what you think.
Wishing everybody a pleasant day.

monk08 Tue 07-May-24 07:26:56

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s another grey cloudy start to the day but at least it’s dry
Enjoy your cruise Ash, I’ve loved hearing about yours BlueSapphire and seeing the pictures, enjoy your last day
I’ve got a dental hygienist appointment this afternoon 🙁 and whilst I’m in town I need to do a bit of shopping
Thinking of everyone which worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

GrannyGravy13 Tue 07-May-24 07:12:14

Morning all, the sun is trying to come out here in S E Essex.

I shall change the bed and feed the washing machine first thing. Lunchtime I have a manicure and pedicure, must decide on a colour.

Next pressing decision is what to have for dinner.

Beautiful tutus grandMattie
Enjoy your cruise Ashcombe
I can feel the sun and smell Spain from that beautiful photo Oops

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️
