don't have a problem with under 16's having free bus travel,BUT
Seems a bit harsh? All that way too. He landed in the UK a few hours ago. Without Meghan and the children.
From the Telegraph just now:
“ The Duke of Sussex will not meet the King this week, the Telegraph can reveal.
Prince Harry, 39, landed in London on Tuesday morning and had made no secret of his hopes to see his father during his visit.
But a spokesperson for the Duke said: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.
“The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
I just think if the King doesn't ’find time’ to see his son then Harry might well just think ‘sod it’ next time/if he comes over.
I know Harry bad mouthed the family in his book ‘Spare’ but still …
What do you think?

It matters not if he's popular in Nigeria.
He's not going to be King.
There would have to be a referendum on the Monarchy first. Or a revolution.
No comparison between highly populated Nigeria and the Scillies.
There can only be speculation about this. We don’t know the real story, nor should we necessarily expect to! This is after all their private family business and does in no way impact on the King’s constitutional duties, nor indeed his charitable ones. Personally, I would not trust Prince Harry as far as I could throw him TBH and the ‘revelations’ of Harry’s PR team are surely intended to present a loving son, cruelly spurned. After Harry’s treatment of his family I’m not surprised that they are somewhat wary of him. Who knows what new ‘revelations’ resulting from any such meetings will appear in the next interview or ‘eagerly awaited’ blockbuster!?
For the first time ever, I’m feeling a bit sorry for them!
They have so little loving family in their lives (each other, two children and her mother) and yes I know that’s their choice after all the misery they felt couldn’t be endured any longer in UK.
I don’t begrudge them brief moments of being treated like royalty whenever they turn up to the odd event or trip abroad- it obviously means a lot to them or they wouldn’t do it.
They seem to want a part time, pick and choose celebrity life which really isn’t suited to our daily dutiful (and sometimes dull) monarchy.
In famous footballing terms, can they do it on a wet and wintry Wednesday night in Stoke… nope, they’re more Messi than Ronaldo!
If all the Windsors behaved like Harry we could not have a monarchy. The monarchy is a career choice , a firm, and it demands reasonable loyalty. King Charles apart from being a nice bloke has a strong sense of duty.
William was rude and nasty about Megan even tried to talk Harry out of marrying her. Knocked his brother over when he defended her, so a violent person. Charles ruined Diana's life, didn't love her and married for breeding. Harry is an ex veteran with mental health problems so I think it's a disgusting way to treat him. Charles didn't want to even see him or offer him a room in any of the Royal buildings so he had to stay in a hotel. Rotten family afraid of the public finding out how awful they really are.

So don't we count the Spencers as "family"? Or Eugenie and Beatrice who have both visited M&H in the US?
Or is it simply this projection onto two people who have made a very quiet life for their children, that they are the ones who are flawed and not the RF.
Isn't it Invictus that means a lot to Harry and brings him back into the public eye because he thinks it worthwhile?
Thank you to all the posters who so kindly commented on my (rather long) explanation of how estrangement and certain behaviours can affect family dynamics. I really appreciate your comments.
We have no idea how Charles and William feel since the onslaught by Harry and Meghan, but my guess would be exceptionally hurt, going on how I felt for years because of my sister’s behaviour.
We cannot really advise them. They have to find their own way through this, and if that includes keeping a distance from Harry, then I respect their choice.

Oh dear Sazzi been reading the book have you?
It doesn’t matter who is flawed or who is not flawed. What matters is the way people find their way through difficult times and if that includes having little to do with a family member, that is their choice, and they are allowed to make that choice.
Yes, we have to respect anyone who feels they need to distance themselves from certain family members for their own health and peace of mind.
Especially when those family members have proved their toxicity and utter dislike very publicly.

Swallowed hook, link and sinker 😀
I offered a room to my sister when our mother was dying and look how that turned out!
We cannot judge Charles and William for their private decisions about how they deal with Harry.
As the saying goes walk a mile in my shoes
................Any thread on H and M runs and runs and keeps gransnet current or it would fold.
Those of us who have had cancer ... and I am one of them ... know that we need to stay as stress-free as possible to improve our recovery.
I would imagine Charles does not at the moment feel up to a difficult possibly antagonistic meeting with Harry, and the worry that Harry can't be trusted to keep anything at all confidential.
I do love to see the posts now about Charles. His publicity team have played a blinder.
A spoilt indecisive moaner, who blamed mummy for being distant, daddy for being a bully, was spoiled by his grandmother, married a girl much younger than him he didn't care for just to produce an heir. Kept another married woman as a close confident (mistress?). Oh I could go on.
But what's the point.
Charles showed his true colours when a pen leaked and Camilla had to step in calm him down and sort it out. Just like a mother would.
Now he won't see his son.
And yes I know he has cancer, but illness does not turn people into saints
Glorianny Charles showed his true colours when a pen leaked and Camilla had to step in calm him down and sort it out.
His mother had just died for goodness sake !!!

Wow! Rather a lot of assumptions there surely? Didn’t Harry say William told him to take it slowly rather than ‘trying to talk him out of it’? Was the necklace breaking incident because Harry was defending his wife against ‘ rude and nasty comments’I don’t know? What were these comments, do you know? Where did you get the ‘fact’ that Charles ‘didn’t want to see him’? Or the ‘fact’ that he didn’t offer Harry a room?
Only from Harry, Daddima
Harry's truth is not necessarily the absolute truth.
Don't care..Harry's made his bed ...so...
What of Diana meeting her true love 3 years after her marriage, not social media, she said so.
Glorianny “And yes I know he has cancer, but illness does not turn people into saints”
You’re right - no more than Harry and Meghan’s PTSD/mental health issues do so either, but they seem to get a free pass when it suits some!
They may well have visited in the early days but I’m not sure Beatrice and Eugenie are so enamoured these days with Harry after his book comments on their father and 3 Spencers out of around 20 doesn’t count as a show of strength in my book!
You forgive your children whatever!
If the Telegraph says it, it must be true 🥱
