Prince Harry will not meet the King during UK visit.

Seems a bit harsh? All that way too. He landed in the UK a few hours ago. Without Meghan and the children.

From the Telegraph just now:

“ The Duke of Sussex will not meet the King this week, the Telegraph can reveal.

Prince Harry, 39, landed in London on Tuesday morning and had made no secret of his hopes to see his father during his visit.

But a spokesperson for the Duke said: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.

“The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

I just think if the King doesn't ’find time’ to see his son then Harry might well just think ‘sod it’ next time/if he comes over.

I know Harry bad mouthed the family in his book ‘Spare’ but still …

What do you think?

I suspect that everyone fears Harry has a tape recorder and microphone hidden about his person wherever he goes. Anything said will be recorded and used in evidence, etc.

Is Harry really so naive that he thinks he has done nothing wrong?
He still seems to think he's doing everyone a favour and should be treated like the prodigal son.

Which one ? Next to his brother?.

I think Charles has enough on his plate without trying to sort out Harry.
Having said that, I think it's a bit churlish not to let Harry stay at one of the Royal residences, they're big enough, unless it's his choice.

I thnk Charles could do with no stress at the moment to facilitate his healing, but maybe Harry has arranged to see him. I certainly don't believe the press

Thank you Cossy my darling died a year later. It’s so easy to
say one would forgive, Harry has gone too far, even telling the
world what he said to his grandmother’s body when he was paying respects! Why should the royal family members not feel betrayed?

I have a few issues with members of my family.
Family and very close friends know but not many.
If I thought the whole village where I live, never mind the whole nation knew and were gossiping I don’t think I would leave the house.
Leave it to them to sort out.
It is their business and no- one else’s.

My darling daughter made two attempts on her life , first attempt she was taken to hospital, one of her cousins asked if he could visit her, i said he could, he wrote of the visit on
Facebook , I could not forgive that

Goodness me, that’s a terrible thing of her cousin to do! I’d be fuming!

I hope your daughter is managing better now flowers

I can’t see why Harry would expect any of his relatives to want to see him if he does? He has made his feelings clear about how he views them so is he missing a link if he thinks they don’t mind! He should have his title taken off him and any privileges that go with it and do what he said he wanted to do, lead a private life. Mmmm, seems he’s a bit mixed up with that thinking as well!!

Personally I think it’s all a bit mad and more than a bit sad.

Harry and Meghan certainly haven’t helped themselves in anyway, how I have noticed Prince A seems snugly back in the fold!

If H was my son I’d be more than a bit pee’d off with him, but I’d still make time to see however unwell I felt.

I think its Meghan's fault.
I haven't worked out how, yet, but I will.

😂

You are very norty, MissAdventure!

Most of the Royals are really detached from the kind of reality that applies to most of us.

I couldn't imagine not finding the time to see one of my children who lives thousands of miles away. Any more than I could imagine bad-mouthing my parents on TV or in a book.

However "normal" they claim to be, they really have no idea what normal really is for the majority of the population.

Callistemon21 Tue 07-May-24 17:32:56

Yes, Charles has been working too, silverlining even when we didn't see him in public.

I wondered if his doctors might think it would be risky to meet with someone who has just come here on a plane from the States, especially if he is due another round of chemotherapy and his immune system has been wiped out? Planes are germ factories.
Perhaps his doctors advised caution.

Who knows? I certainly don't profess to.

Who knows what’s really happening, the King could have a day or two in hospital scheduled for his cancer treatment.
The report in The Telegraph says ‘it’s not possible’ not ‘the King will not meet Harry’.

Who knows what’s really happening
This.

We only have one side of the story.

I woukd make time to see my daughter if she wanted to see me. I think. Especially if she didn’t bring her dreadful husband along with her. smile
As for Charles being 76 I am a few months older than him. Yet I am still 75. Yes he’s worked from home I expect but only appeared in the last week or so but it’s been months since he was last seen, and yes I know about avoiding infections, ( daughter dont forget had aggressive cancer) and no she’s not 76 that woukd be an impossibility Annie.
My goodness. Of course it’s up to them but my point was there is always an hour to be found if both parties wish it.
MissA carry on with the Meghan fault thing, you won’t go far wrong there.

Harry told the world his father did exercises in his boxer shorts, I don’t think I would be happy if my daughter told the world I did exercises in my knickers

All this conjecture. It's their business and up to them what they do. If they meet what passes will be private, if they don't it's their decision.

Indeed.

Neither of them have time to waste, the King being sickly and Harry no doubt in a hurry to finish up and return home. Private choices.

After what Harry has deliberately done being “cold shouldered” is the least he could expect, the last time he came he didn’t stay long.
I can imagine the conversation -
“thank you for visiting Harry, you’ve had your photo opportunity now clear off back to your tart in LA”.

His "tart"!! For goodness sake! It's no wonder he doesn't want to be in the UK if that's the way his wife and the mother of his 2 children is referred to

I wonder if Charles apologised to The Queen and Prince Philip? I don't think he would.

Ours to wonder, theirs to know.

It's good to see the spirit of Christianity is alive and well anyway. What's that story? Oh yes The Prodigal Son!!

Is Harry behaving like a Prodigal Son? Is he returning asking forgiveness ? Do you think he's even apologised for any of the public accusations, or considered them inappropriate and mean?
Harry was married in a Christian service, Meghan was baptised and confirmed into the CofE before their wedding. Does Harry exhibit the spirit of Christianity or is he exempt?

Personally I don’t trust Harry and he hasn’t said anything about me !
Frankly only someone very naive would trust him. Where is his apology for all those lies and bad-mouthing?
