Good Morning Everyone,
Woke up to bright and dry start here in brackley if only after a few hours sleep.
Yesterdays trip to West End to see "Sister Act" with Beverley knight was brilliant , performance etc , although she and other who follows are only doing the show for up to 12 weeks ,cast wise was great and the Nuns even prior to 2nd act walk through the stalls .
Today , normal routine , i will catch up with sleep later .
Take Care,
Mick

Good afternoon everyone. I always seem to miss the boat when it comes to morning. Depression keeps me in bed late. Glad you enjoyed your trip Mick.

Good morning all. Sunny, still and warm on the Angus coast. Not the best day for drying the towels, but needs must. Rushing round like a headless chicken here because, as always in my life, everything is happening at once! I have had to jump in and am now hosting the international instructors from Belgium for next weekend 's workshop and suddenly my house needs a good spring clean. (Up until now the cold wintry weather hasn't brought on an urge to get the dusters out). This is all happening at the same time as the end of Dancing GD's dance degree course and shows, and a visit from youngest GD and her boyfriend. Once upon a time I could cope with all this and more, but now the "I'll just sit down for a minute or too" are coming closer together and the work spurts are further apart 😱😂. But I'll get there .
So, sorry if I don't post every day. I'm still keeping up with all your doings and holidays etc, but not reading until evening.
So just keep/get well (delete as appropriate) everybody and enjoy summer while it lasts x

glammagran .... Just to say that we have a hankerchief tree in our local park. It is amazing and us park regulars love taking newcomers to see it smile

Good morning from a sunny NE.
I had been feeling unwell since my vaccination last week and as the symptoms were those of covid decided to do a test, and yes it was positive. After 8 vaccinations and four years I eventually succumbed.
I spent time checking what the guidelines are now regarding the infection and there are none, just common sense apparently.
Have a good day.

Good Morning from a sunny Co Armagh, I thought it was snowing earlier as my cherry tree was shedding its lovely blooms
Off to art clas , it’s an hour later this morning , the room was double booked
Belfast would have shown it’s best side in the sun yesterday , I haven’t been there for ages
Have the best day possible everyone

Blossoming Fri 10-May-24 09:25:40

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 16°C.

MrB and I had a good day yesterday, trying out lots of chairs. We haven’t decided which ones to buy but have plenty of food for thought. We enjoyed a delicious pub lunch afterwards, all freshly cooked. Such a pleasant change, so many places seem to depend on microwaves and frozen meals these days.

Thank you GrannyGravy for prompting me, today I must get stuck in to ‘putting my affairs in order’.

Beautiful photos Ashcombe, thanks for sharing.

Your garden looks beautiful Bonnybanko.

Thinking of all going through tough times at the moment ❤️

Enjoy your weekend, whatever you’re doing 🌹

EkwaNimitee Fri 10-May-24 08:48:57

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Good you enjoyed a fun evening Mick, sounds like a good show to see.

I was out in the garden yesterday doing a little weeding and trimming but mostly planting out my runner beans which were growing vigorously. There will not be another frost!
Afterwards I finished my bargain book, a good page turner but a ludicrously high body count.

Today, more sorting of clothes into summer storage. It will probably be just a brief period for them....

Glad you both enjoyed Belfast Ashcombe, it's certainly an interesting city well worth visiting.
DH and I visited years ago during the Troubles. We embarked on a tour of N.I. and the Republic towing our brand new caravan with its GB plates. Friends and neighbours thought we were mad but we encountered nothing less than warmth and friendliness everywhere from both sides.

Do have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton.

Back to normal and coming down to earth with a bump after my wonderful cruise......first load of washing just hung out and a second load in the machine. I got on the scales after my shower, and have put 4lb on! Glad that I made an effort before my cruise and lost 3lb! The cats have just returned from the cattery and are on an inspection of the house to check that all is correct and as they left it.

I have a long shopping list, and will venture out to M&S/ Sainsbury's later this morning - I have just found a £12 M&S Food voucher (sent for my birthday) which needs to be spent by tomorrow, so that will come in handy.

Lovely pictures of Belfast, Ash - enjoy your cruise.

A busy day ahead, so must get a move on. Have a pleasant Friday everyone.

Jaxjacky Fri 10-May-24 08:40:47

Morning from a sunny S Hants, did you find the hidden cats at Belfast Castle Ash?
Good luck to your daughter Ivy, I’m glad you enjoyed the show Mick.
Hanging baskets, pots and window boxes were planted up yesterday, I love getting my hands dirty. More potting on and planting today, the perfect excuse to ignore housework.
Pub tonight, it will be busy outdoors, making the most of the weather before all change next week.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I'm sitting outside with my cuppa listening to the birds and some road machinery noises.
I don't think I could bear not to have a garden when I move house so that's on my must have list.
I'm feeling much better today and will go into work.
So glad you enjoyed the musical Mick
The cruise sounds great Ash and so lucky with the weather. Fingers crossed 🤞
I have been to Belfast but never to the outer Isles or Shetland. It's nice to hear about it from you.

Hope everyone finds some joy today.

glammagran Fri 10-May-24 08:29:09

Good morning all from a sunny Wiltshire.

Spent alot of time outdoors this week catching up with gardening jobs and frantically planting (rather late) dahlias and gladioli. Yesterday the conservatory was given a thorough clean, a job that has been done in March in a less wet year. We went to the NT Courts gardens at Holt with DGS2 this week. It looked stunning. I’d never seen a handkerchief tree before. GS was rather grumpy but picked up in the afternoon planting sunflower seeds in pots. Only 25 minutes nap time this week. He must be outgrowing them.

Have a good day out in the sun everyone.

GrannySomerset Fri 10-May-24 08:21:08

Another lovely morning poses the question of what to wear which is a nice problem to have. Oldies coffee morning, visit to a friend not seen this year, and this evening another widowed friend and I are out to dinner to mark my late DH’s birthday. So important that someone shares the memory with me as certain dates are quite painful and a meal out feels positive and enjoyable.

Marydoll Fri 10-May-24 08:13:51

grandMattie

Trust you’ll get your prescriptions today and that the preparation for the first communion go well, Md.
Looks like you’re having a lovely cruise, Ash.
May everyone’s day/weekend go well.

GM, apparently one medication been sourced in England, but may take days to come. I hope they are not coming by Royal Snail. 🤣

Good morning all another sunny day here in the Black country.
Washing on I'm another who enjoys hanging it out Grandmabatty.
Something weird happened during the night I was woken about 1am to music I finally realised it was my jewellery box which hasn't played a tune for well over 10 years, finally managed to get it to stop, tried to get a tune from it this morning and no sound at all very strange.
Mick glad you enjoyed your theatre trip.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Liberty Fri 10-May-24 08:07:03

Good morning from another glorious Suffolk morning. How lovely it is to wake up to brightness and warm sunshine.

DGD2 starts her GCSEs today and DGD1 her A levels next Friday. A difficult time for those students suffering from hay fever.

Tidying the garden took, priority over ironing yesterday and it will be the same today. The bluebells are nearly over and like the snowdrops ,primroses and cowslips have been wonderful this year.

Hope today is a sunny one for all especially those with worries and living with stress.

hollysteers Fri 10-May-24 08:02:47

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Spent yesterday sorting books and general tidying of clutter. Tricky as I have sheet music, music anthologies plus drawing and painting stuff scattered around…
I’m waiting to hear how my BIL in the south is after his heart op.

Today to art group, then shopping. DD arrives from the south tomorrow so will stock up.
Not sure what to wear today with the rise in temperatures.
I do love a theatre trip Mick, enjoy your trip Ashcombe and thoughts to all with worries 🌺

luluaugust Fri 10-May-24 07:45:25

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. DH’s cataract op went well so we shall be starting the drops regimen today. Otherwise will see GS5 home this afternoon.
Glad you enjoyed your show Mick
Pleased the cruise is going well Ash
Hope you get your tablets Marydoll
Best wishes to all

cornergran Fri 10-May-24 07:44:36

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset.

Afternoon tea was delicious yesterday, we couldn’t manage all the cakes and brought a box home. I can feel my clothes shrinking! Volunteering this morning. Will put the washing machine on before I go and hope Mr C remembers to hang the clothes out when it finishes. We’ll skip TaiChi this afternoon, need to install the new plants.

Sounds a good night out mick, pleased all is going well with the cruise ash. Hold on to hope roses, you will have your summerhouse. Hope those elusive prescriptions turn up maryd and your daughters move is trouble free ivy

Wishing you all the best Friday it can be.

Pittcity Fri 10-May-24 07:44:31

Posted before reading the thread. Belfast is a lovely city to visit, but so sad to see that the divisions are still there.
You've given me the idea of putting some winter stuff in the machine and will reproof my spring mac while it's dry.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and fairly sunny. Mick I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Marydoll fingers crossed that first communion goes well.
Yesterday I pottered about the house and garden. In the afternoon, I worked on a mixed media piece which I started months ago. It's inspired by Georgia O'Keefe's flower paintings.
Today I'm looking after dgs2 for a couple of hours while DD gets her hair done. I have got a washing on and will get it outside soon. I love hanging out washing, sad person that I am. I'll do some more work on the painting this afternoon, once dgs2 is away home. Have a good day all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 10-May-24 07:44:16

Morning all from a warm West Oxfordshire. My iPhone is playing up so I’ll pop into the Apple Store in Oxford later. While I’m there our gardener will be doing some planting and tidying up.
I think we’ve finally got another cleaner. She is calling in to see us on Saturday. They are like gold dust round here. Our previous lady has moved out of the village having split up with her partner.
Have a good day, especially those of you with difficulties.

Sar53 Fri 10-May-24 07:42:12

Good morning from a lovely bright and sunny day on the Essex coast.
DH's visit to his consultant went well and hopefully the procedure he needs will be carried out within about 4 weeks.
The start of GCSE'S seemed OK, teenagers don't say much.
We had a lovely evening celebrating DH'S granddaughter's 13th birthday.
Bits and bobs to do today.
Have the best day everyone xx

Gingster Fri 10-May-24 07:38:51

Good morning all and the sun is still with us. ☀️.

Yesterday we potted up bedding plants and weeded the drive so everything is looking fresh and new. Looking forward to all the summer colours after the dreary winter/spring we’ve had.

We washed bedding yesterday and more today. Lovely to get it dry in the garden.

Today I’ll bake for tomorrow’s visitors and have another tidy around.
We’ll meet our Friday friends at lunchtime and see how everyone is.

Ash lucky you with the weather. Hope it lasts for your time away.

Roseandlilac fingers crossed your summerhouse can be erected today.

Enjoy the day the best you can 🌸

Good morning from Durham. The sun eventually broke through yesterday and today looks much the same. Fairly warm too - made for a bit of a disturbed night, so window open!
Met a friend yesterday with disturbing news of her DD and family, supposedly enjoying an 8 week holiday in Canada.
I’m pleased I have an ‘empty’ today and shall lay out my holiday clothes ready to pack.
Best wishes to all. X
