Good Morning Everyone,
Another bright clear sky over brackley this morning and dry at the moment.
Today , I hope the weather holds out so I can visit the cemetery, and see how the graves have faired over the winter .
Also will watch cycling on TV later ,and have a lighter lunch as well.
Take Care,
Mick

Just catching up. A very Happy Birthday, Harrigran. Enjoy Derbyshire - I never go into the Peak District at the weekend - far too many cars - parking’s a nightmare. Quieter in the week.

Happy Birthday harrigran 🎂🥂🎉

madeleine45 Sun 12-May-24 17:00:28

rather late in the day to be joining in, but have been pleased to find this group again. I was away then ill and somehow didnt get back for ages. Well missed the first lovely aurora borealis and there were some marvellous shots of wonderful colours , so was a bit miffed with myself. So last night kept going outside in the hopes that it would be repeated as they said that it might be, but no such luck. Been lovely and sunny here today but wind getting up a bit and there has been talk of some storm or heavy rain later on Fingers crossed might get another chance to see the great colours tonight. Hope you are all doing well

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton. Slept in till just after 10am this morning, which is unheard of for me! Probably.tired after a day out in the fresh air.

Caught up with most of my holiday washing yesterday- all hung out, dried and brought in before I set off for an afternoon of rugby. Not enough left to make up another load.

A perfect afternoon for.rugby - a packed stadiun, electric atmosphere, and wow, did my team give us fans a treat. Put the opposing team to the sword, beating them 90-0! Some amazing tries. Now we have an assured home semi-final in two weeks. Ticket sales open for that tomorrow, but as a season ticket holder, I have mine reserved till Friday.

Just defrosting the kitchen freezer, as it was getting difficult to close the door.
Will cut the back grass this afternoon, then get ready for a family meal out early evening at the local Indian to celebrate my birthday which happened on my cruise three weeks ago.

So sorry for the sudden sad loss of your friend, Maw.

May the sun shine on all today.

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 19°C.

The sky is blue and cloudless right now. There is a thunderstorm warning for this afternoon., hope it gives us a miss.

I have been doing my morning exercises, now need to sit down until my head stops swimming!

So sorry to hear you have lost a dear friend and neighbour RosiesMaw. Hope your family get together goes well.

Cornergran I used to be slender and a very hearty eater in my younger days. Sadly no longer the case!

Glad it all went well Marydoll, hope you have a lovely trip tomorrow.

Grandmachrisy47 Sun 12-May-24 10:14:04

Warm and bright in Co Durham.
Sorry to read your news RosiesMaw.
Happy Birthday, MrMonk
Glad yesterday went well, Marydoll
Lovely garden NannyJan and beautiful photos Ash
A very Happy Birthday, harrigran
Unexpectedly had the two granddogs delivered this morning. DD2 and SiL are off to ‘bag’ their second Wainright. Dgd is staying with a friend but will come here later.
The sun is really lifting my mood. Doubt it will last though.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast, although it’s starting to cloud over…
DD drove up from the south last night and we had a nice meal of rolled plaice stuffed with salmon and spinach in a hollandaise sauce. She then went off to spend the evening with her closest friend turning 50. I don’t know how she does it.
I settled down with a Bette Davies film.

I’m saddened this morning to hear a friend in the band has suffered two heart attacks, he messaged me from hospital. I’ll pop in to see him hopefully before he’s transferred 20 miles away. I’m so fond of him, he’s such good company and very amusing. That’s two men I know in their 60s who have just had heart attacks, the other my BIL.

Out for lunch with DD, birthday greetings Harrigran, thoughts to RosiesMaw and all with troubles 🌺

Good morning from a sunny and warm East Midlands.

Stilllearning Sun 12-May-24 09:46:20

Morning everyone from sunny South Lanarkshire. Vigil mass last night so a relaxed morning which is lovely after a busy week. Lunch with a friend later which unfortunately involves another bus trip but if the weather holds it’ll be okay.

Very sorry to read about the unexpected death of your friend RosiesMaw, these losses are very hard.

Happy Birthday Harrigran and glad all went well yesterday Marydoll, a perfect day for it.

Wishing everyone a good day, as always thinking about those of us struggling today.

A lovely way to smell the flowers

Beechnut Sun 12-May-24 09:26:10

Wishing you a Happy Birthday harrigran 🎉🎂🍹
The sunny weather does bring out the motorbikes. It’s a lovely to smell the flowers as you go by the woods 🪻

harrigran Sun 12-May-24 09:00:59

Good morning from a sunny and dry Derbyshire where I am on holiday.
Yesterday was warm but decided not to do sightseeing as everywhere was so busy, I have never seen so many motorbikes. We shopped for food and returned to the cottage and sat in the garden.
Today is my birthday, a quiet day with DD and SIL, a gentle walk then dinner at a French restaurant tonight.
We have a storm forecast for this afternoon, I am keeping my fingers crossed because this cottage has suffered a lightning strike before. We are right on the top of a hill, highest thing around 🤔
Have a good day everyone.

GrannySomerset Sun 12-May-24 08:54:43

So sorry to read Maw’s sad post - what a shock. Likely to be the last fine day for a little while but I only have church in our village so reading in the garden on the cards for later. Glad Marydoll’s organisational skills paid off yesterday and hope today is as successful.

EkwaNimitee Sun 12-May-24 08:47:21

Good morning Mick and everyone from warm sunny Carlisle.
It reached 26°C here after lunch yesterday. I had to take my sweater off! First time this year. This morning, I have even abandoned my socks and have had to find some sandals. I gather it's not due to last....

I mowed the lawn yesterday, it's only the second cut of the year. Otherwise there's not much to do outside except to keep an eye on watering needs, the only job in the garden I don't like.
Mr Blackbird is very busy out there this morning. He has discovered my yellow-berried pyracantha and has been gobbling the berries of which there are still masses. Because blackbirds aren't supposed to like the yellow ones and in my long experience they don't, even in the worst of weathers.

Nothing much will be done today, just a bit of tidying up and a minor job or two. Methinks a reading day beckons.

What a sad shock for you and your neighbours RosiesMaw, you don't expect an attack of kidney stones to end like that.

I hope everyone can enjoy the fine day.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 12-May-24 08:31:11

Good morning from a beautiful South Downs, where another glorious day is forecast. Sat in the garden after eating dinner outside until after 9 last evening and it was so warm and peaceful.

Hope to do the same today.

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony to the world.

kittylester Sun 12-May-24 08:30:14

Morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

DH is feeling a bit better and has asked for fish for lunch so I have a trip to Waitrose lined up.

Have the best day possible.

Litterpicker Sun 12-May-24 08:27:43

Good morning from sunny West Sussex by the sea.
I had hoped for a second chance to see the aurora last night but the weather man said it was unlikely in the south. I had driven around on Friday hoping to find a dark spot to catch it but it eluded me. To my joy two of my DDs and families had seen it - one on the south coast and one in East Lothian.

So sad to hear of your friend’s death, RosiesMaw.

Glad all went well yesterday, Marydoll.

NannyJan, that’s a picture of green luciousness.

Heading inland today for church where we used to live. It will be a glorious drive over The Downs.

Beechnut Sun 12-May-24 08:21:03

Good morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

I am pleased with my garden work of the last few days. I have to pop out this morning for a few things to finish setting up my new water butt. Beechnutella will be coming later.

Happy Birthday to Mrmonk 🎂🎉

Have a good day all

GrannyGravy13 Sun 12-May-24 08:20:56

Morning all from a sunny corner of S E Essex, it’s meant to be another warm and sunny day 👍

Yesterday was a fun filled afternoon with the 9 yr old and The Imp, burgers on the BBQ for lunch, then it was steak (not for The Imp and myself) the sweetest chicken wings, and delicious prawns all cooked in the BBQ accompanied by various salads. When not eating they were splashing and swimming.

Today I have no plans other than to sort through my swimwear in preparation for our holiday in a few weeks, then I shall be found in the garden with my kindle. Port Kebabs, savoury rice and salad for dinner.

Condolences on this loss of your friend and neighbour RosiesMaw 💐

So pleased the communion went to plan MaryDoll

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️
