Good Morning Everyone,
Another bright clear sky over brackley this morning and dry at the moment.
Today , I hope the weather holds out so I can visit the cemetery, and see how the graves have faired over the winter .
Also will watch cycling on TV later ,and have a lighter lunch as well.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Bristol.
My neighbour took me to the Downs, where half Bristol had gathered, to see the Aurora. We barely saw anything probably due to the thing, high cloud and went home just after midnight. I’m exhausted. Did many of you this far south see anything
I served coffee at church and was pleased to see another neighbour coming, after I suggested he should join us. He enjoyed himself.
On my way home, I bought a few plants to tart up my pots. I didn’t get enough so shall get more in a few days.
Today, there is a church AGM after the service, which I shall attend. I hope it doesn’t last too long.

Good morning from N Bucks -clear skies and the promise of another fine day.
Off to Birmingham for a family lunch for eldest GS’s 14th birthday -a strapping, getting on for 6’ broad shouldered young man, whip thin but who can eat for England, how did that happen? He and his mum are doing a 10k this morning before I get there.
Reeling from the unexpected death of my dear friend and neighbour who went into hospital 2 weeks ago with kidney stones but rapidly went down hill with a chest infection, then pneumonia and died apparently in her sleep yesterday morning. She was so vivacious, active, positive and lively, at 77 an inspiration to us all. A light has gone out in our close.
Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday.

Good morning from Malta where it is a sunny day with a high of 29°C forecast.

It is Mother’s Day here together with most of Europe, the US and Australia, so Happy Mother’s Day to all who are celebrating.

Sorry to hear of the sudden loss of your neighbour, Maw, May she rest in peace.

Mass at 11.30 after which my usual FaceTime with my loyal friend in Leicester.

I declined an offer from DD3 to go out for lunch. She says I’m boring which I probably am!

Wishing you all a good day whatever you are doing.☀️

Good morning from s somerset, thunder later and sunny until then

Sorry for the loss of your friend RosiesMaw, so sad

No aurora watching for me, me and my AC, we are all the same, early to bed and early to rise. It seems as though I have not missed anything.

I made a large container of kimchi yesterday, I only discovered hm kimchi, or any kimchi, a few months ago. I do leave out the dried chilli though, might start to add it, a few grains at a time. It is incredible

I finished swapping my wardrobe around yesterday and will be packing my washed woollen tops today. I have special moth prevention bags which slot into a stack at the side of my wardrobe

A quiet restful day today, sky is a bit eerie so I am not risking a cycle ride

Have a good day

Morning Mick, morning All from a calm corner of Somerset.

Goodness maw what a shock, I’m so sorry. I’m pleased you’ll have the company of family today.

Didn’t look for the Aurora last night as we were ready for an early night after a thoroughly enjoyable family time. After a relaxed lunch our teenagers found the stamina to spend an hour charging around a very large park with their young autistic cousin, we’re very proud of them. On to restorative drinks and cake (where do these stick thin young women put it all??) before they headed off with their dad, exams next week meant the need to study. A final couple of hours for us avoiding our grandsons water pistol before trundling home. We value these rare times so much and appreciate the effort everyone put in to accommodate it.

It will be a quiet one for us today. A package to collect, coffee, like grandmattie a few plants needed to fill spaces in the planted tubs and with luck time to plant them before the forecast rain arrives.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all from the Black country where it appears to be overcast.
DH birthday today so we have booked a table for lunch with the family, no other plans as yet.
RosesMaw sorry for the loss of your friend, safe journey to Birmingham.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, cool South Yorkshire. I don’t think we’ll see the sun today. It was blazing yesterday and very hot. I managed to get a first coat of paint on the new gate, and it may get a second coat today, or it may have to wait until we paint the fence. By mid afternoon I was exhausted with both the work and the heat, but I was invited by DD to come and join in a barbecue at theirs so it saved me cooking. I have some new delphiniums to plant sometime today. I hope they do as well as the ones that I’ve just lost to the wet winter.
Have the best day you can, folks.

RosesandLilac Sun 12-May-24 06:52:16

Good morning, a bright start here in south Glos but thunderstorms are forecast for early afternoon.
I had a quiet day yesterday spent doing the bottom border which is now tidy, sitting outside knitting and listening to a podcast and walking the dog.
DH has finally finished the patio thank goodness so I can actually get to my little shed.
Today a load of washing, make a couple of cakes, one for my friend whose husband recently died and weed the front border.
I’m hoping that this week everything will go smoothly and my summerhouse will actually get erected, the excitement of having one has dwindled, I just want it done.
Hugs Rosiesmaw, that’s so sad 💐
Enjoy your day 🌹

Pittcity Sun 12-May-24 06:59:00

Good morning from sunny Essex. Another hot day here.
I am awake early in DD1's spare room waiting for signs of life.
A few drinks were had yesterday but both DGS have to be at different places this morning and no organisation was done yesterday, so I expect chaos.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and cloudy. RosiesMaw that is very sad and unexpected. 💐 Cornergran it's lovely to see family all getting along, isn't it?
Yesterday, after hanging out the washing, doing a shop and some early housework, I decided to go to the garden centre. I had a full trolley and was heading for the checkout when I heard two wee voices shouting, "Gamma!" The family had come for breakfast and Dsil invited me along too. How could I say no? After a lovely breakfast and chat, I headed home where I planted the begonias, fuschia and strawberries. I also planted peas outside and put some on the kitchen windowsill as well as carrots. Later I ironed all the bedding that had dried outside. Simple things like freshly ironed bedding gives me pleasure. Dinner was trout fillet with salad. I have another one for tonight and enough potatoes to make a potato salad too. I watched Dr Who but was decidedly unimpressed.
Today I'm going back to the garden centre. I have a large pot at my front door which needs something in it. I'm nipping out this afternoon to give a friend a late birthday present, then I'll visit mum. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from Cambridge, it’s really sunny and warm already here so looks like a gorgeous day ahead
So sorry to hear about the sudden death of your friend maw, hope you can enjoy today despite the sad news
The journey from Inverness was good yesterday, an early start but I was here by lunchtime and we had a lovely afternoon with a picnic in the park with DGS pals and chatting with DD1s friends
Not sure what we’re doing today, I just go with the flow when everyone has decided.
Hoping there’s progress with the summerhouse roses and you can enjoy it soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grammaretto Sun 12-May-24 07:19:15

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is overcast. Yesterday was really warm here. I'm unprepared.

I may have a viewer/buyer for a couple of items I posted for sale online. He failed to come yesterday so it could be a time waster.
Later I have an appointment to view a house for sale.
I may be a time waster myself but you have to start somewhere.

Sorry about your friend's sudden death Rosiesmaw. Have a safe journey.

I hope everyone has a good day. Thinking of those who are struggling.

Jaxjacky Sun 12-May-24 07:21:55

Morning all, a high haze, the predicted storms are sadly now forecast further west, no sign here of the aurora gMattie and nothing on FB, we’re between Winchester and Southampton.
Happy Birthday Mrmonk 🎂🎉.
I picked up some herbs and a few veg plants yesterday at an allotment sale, so today I’ll be moving stuff around in big pots.
Meat draw later, gammon in cider for dinner.

Marydoll Sun 12-May-24 07:29:01

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where its 15°C, but showers are forecast for later.

Maw, I'm sorry to hear your sad news.

We had a fabulous family day yesterday. The sun shone, Dollie was beautiful 💕, Babydoll charmed everyone, all my organisation paid off, we managed to squeeze everyone in, a fabulous Italian meal, hugs from ex colleagues and friends, finished off by a family day in DS' garden made it the perfect day!

DH decided to leave his car at our son's, so we eventually had to get the bus home. (No available taxis.) Buses are few and far between on a Saturday evening, it was a bit of adventure getting home. Wandering through the rown on a Saturday evening was a whole new experience . We looked like two old fogies on a day trip! 🤣
We were asleep by 10pm, that is a first for me, a chronic insomniac.

This morning it's 10am Mass, remove the flowers from the pew ends and take DH to get his car. The children will all be back at church , wearing their Communion outfits.
Home to pack for our trip to the East Neuk tomorrow. That's another dilemma, for the weather is so unpredictable. I haven't had time to do it, because of recent circumstances.
I am so looking forward to a break.

Have a great day, everyone.

GrannyIvy Sun 12-May-24 07:32:36

Good morning from Cambridgeshire, another lovely sunny warm morning. DD2 is moved into her new home so another busy day anticipated all hands on deck again but our holiday is fast approaching so need to do some preparation for that today. Then lots to do in the garden. I’m not doing hanging baskets and pots until we return in June as keeping them watered well could be a problem this year!
I’m very sorry to hear about your neighbour and friend RosiesMaw.
Happy Sunday to all 💐

Gingster Sun 12-May-24 07:52:14

Good morning all and we’re expecting highs if 27 degrees here in Essex.😳.

Yesterday was lovely having my db, SIL, nephew and his wife here for lunch. DS1 and Dd and little gd popped round to see them . They were all so happy to see each other. It doesn’t often happen these days. Lots of chat and laughter.

Today I’ll await a message from Dd to see if I’m taking her and gd for her swimming lesson and if they’re coming back here for lunch. We have plenty of leftovers from yesterday. Lovely!

Sorry to hear about your neighbour Maw.
I’m glad all went well yesterday Mary. Sounds like a lovely day.
What are the benefits for ‘kimchi* , Karma. I’ve looked up the recipe but I don’t think my system could cope with those ingredients 😥.

Enjoy the rest of the sunshine and have a lovely day 🌸

Bonnybanko Sun 12-May-24 07:52:53

Good morning all from another glorious start to the day here in Fife.

It’s been the hottest night in such a long time, I’m glad I’ve got my 1.5 tog duvet else I would have melted.

No church today my friend has gone away.

Netflix here I come.

Stay well my friends.

luluaugust Sun 12-May-24 08:00:53

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. RosesMaw so sorry to hear about your friend. Happy Birthday *MrMonk
Our days seem to be spent putting drops in DH’s eyes but I have made the most of reading in the garden. Quiet day today with a chat to DB and a bit of cooking.
All the best

NannyJan53 Sun 12-May-24 08:06:55

Good morning from a sunny Black Country, where some rain is predicted later!

Managed a BBQ last night. First time this year. The photo shows the view in our garden from the patio.

So sorry to hear about your friend Maw such a shock.

Happy birthday to MrMonk wine

Only plan today is must visit Mum.

Ashcombe Sun 12-May-24 08:07:26

A quick hello whilst I have 4G available as we begin two sea days on our journey home.

The weather held to give us a beautiful few hours in Lerwick yesterday.

I hope to attend an interdenominational service this morning.

Every blessing! 💐✝️🥰

Liberty Sun 12-May-24 08:16:42

Good morning from another glorious sunny Suffolk morning. The back, hall and lobby doors already wide open and the sun streaming into the sitting room.

So sorry RosiesMaw to hear your sad news. Sudden deaths in hospital are so difficult to process,I find, having had a similar experience myself nearly 2 years ago with a very dear friend.

Another quiet day at home before a busy week. DH and I will enjoy a walk locally after breakfast. Although the dog loves the beach and there are a few around here open to dogs all year, the roads to get there will be busy so we’ll stick with a walk from our own back gate. How lucky we are to be able to get straight on to the footpaths.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 12-May-24 08:20:56

Morning all from a sunny corner of S E Essex, it’s meant to be another warm and sunny day 👍

Yesterday was a fun filled afternoon with the 9 yr old and The Imp, burgers on the BBQ for lunch, then it was steak (not for The Imp and myself) the sweetest chicken wings, and delicious prawns all cooked in the BBQ accompanied by various salads. When not eating they were splashing and swimming.

Today I have no plans other than to sort through my swimwear in preparation for our holiday in a few weeks, then I shall be found in the garden with my kindle. Port Kebabs, savoury rice and salad for dinner.

Condolences on this loss of your friend and neighbour RosiesMaw 💐

So pleased the communion went to plan MaryDoll

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

Beechnut Sun 12-May-24 08:21:03

Good morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

I am pleased with my garden work of the last few days. I have to pop out this morning for a few things to finish setting up my new water butt. Beechnutella will be coming later.

Happy Birthday to Mrmonk 🎂🎉

Have a good day all
