I cried when I read about this poor young woman. But as a society we have to stop pretending that the medical profession can alleviate all kinds of pain both physical and mental. Some people live and die in great agony despite palliative care. Many people don’t receive adequate end of life care and some conditions simply cannot be eased. Many people take their own lives because of they can’t live with MH issues that can’t be alleviated through medication or therapy. This young woman just wants to be helped to have a peaceful death. It is tragic because she is young but I do believe we should have the right to determine our own destiny.
