Good Morning Tuesday 21st May 2024
(53 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
A dry but signs of overnight rain here in brackley with grey overcast sky .
Plans for today other than usual bus trip to Bicester , and watching to Giro on Eurosport later .
Had some good news in appointments my visual fields test date as changed , but it collides with telephone appointment with the colonial nursing team , which I can rearrange as i rely on buses I would be travelling to the field test when I would have got the phone call appointment .
Take Care,
Mick
No post from me this morning, but just wanted to say how thrilled I am with Urms news. Such a relief for you all
Good morning from a very grey and dull East Midlands. Our holiday on saturday might have to be cancelled due to hubby hurting his back.
Late to the party this morning, I’m in Giffnock as usual on a Tuesday and the cat slept on my bed last night. Wherever he had been he had one leg covered in engine oil which of course has left a large ugly stain. Sprayed with Vanish it is now in the machine while I await a miracle.
I wasn’t going to post this morning but when I read about Urms wonderful news I had to add my glad thoughts for you and your husband. I am so happy for you both.
Have a lovely day everyone.
Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 15°C.
I’m quite tired today after a busy day and a late night. Lots of physical activity and I was grateful to be able to do it, and I’m not too achy. Today will be pottering and a walk along the riverside to look for foxgloves.
I love Jersey Royals GrandmaBatty, must ask MrB to look out for some.
Massage can help massively Grammaretto, it makes such a difference to my frequently subluxing shoulder. Shame it wasn’t on offer, exercise is good but it isn’t a universal panacea.
Fabulous news Urms and something to look forward to in August 🥂🍾
I hope today’s telephone conversation has been productive Marydoll. What a mess everything is in.
Have the best day you can, whatever you’re doing 🌹
Thank you everyone for all your good wishes and kindness. It means a lot to me. GN at its very best. It’s good to be back. My sister said “keep stretching that piece of elastic Sis”.
🥰
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Firstly, I’m very pleased for you Urms. This news will give you a well deserved lift.
Nice work grandMattie👍
My BIL had his heart surgery in London yesterday, lost a lot of blood but now stabilised. I’m so sorry my sister can’t make her planned visit here, we are very close, but she will be on caring duty.
DD arrives from Crete very late tonight before she sets off for the south tomorrow.
Today to music club as usual and have been warned by fellow committee member of trouble brewing with one of our members 🙄Always the way in these groups…
Haven’t practised at all as out in the sun, so my voice could be frog like.
Lovely photos and thoughts to all.
Morning from an overcast S Hants, Urms news sent me to bed with a smile last night.
I was up late, straight into the shower and cleaned the bathrooms before one sip of tea.
Voluntary phone yesterday was busy with some odd calls, in between them I had a call from ENT for an appointment next week to check out my nose. Very efficient, I’ve only waited two weeks.
Quiz was cancelled disappointingly.
Beautiful corner, I’m pleased with this peony, first year it’s flowered.

Good morning from N Bucks where it is cool and grey and there has been some rain.
I am just back from dropping my car off at a repair place in the middle of an industrial estate not far from me. One of the men kindly drove me back (it was in the back of beyond and I’d have had to ring for a taxi) and it was only when I reached into my bag for my house keys I realised I’d left them with the garage instead of my spare car key . Duh!
Fortunately my neighbour has a key otherwise I’d have been up the proverbial creek!
Lovely news Urmstonegran enjoy that feeling - your coffee will taste ten times as good!
Wishing you all a pleasant day
So the best news Urms😀
Such good news Mr & Mrs Urms, am so pleased for you. 💐
Pilates this morning, then pressure washing the patio. We have a peacock which regularly visits, beautiful, but he does leave rather a mess! But a general clean needs doing anyway.
Wishing a good day for all.
Good to see you urms. Wonderful news.
I’m so glad for you all*Urms*, perhaps the Christie visits keep you from floating off to cloud 9.
Marydoll,I'm sorry that things are so pear shaped again. Hope things aren’t postponed further.🤞🤞🤞
I think we are all smiling after reading Urms’s wonderful news. Starts the day off joyfully. Coffee with a friend and a visit from the chiropodist are the highlights and I may make it to WI this evening, so a busy day in my modest terms.
Sorry Marydoll is having to battle so hard and hope the outcome of her “appointment” when she has it is helpful. I am making the most of the sunshine because the rest of the week is looking much less attractive so will follow advice to carpe diem.
Urmston, brilliant news. Really pleased for you and himself
Great news Urms🙂
Good morning from North Yorkshire.
It’s just been raining which is disappointing as I have washing on! Hopefully it will clear.
Urms such good news. I am happy for you. Mary I hope you get something sorted with the medics.
I’m off to the garden centre this morning for a few more geraniums for my pots. This evening I’m going to my neighbours for dinner. Their daughter is here and is cooking.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from a sunny Algarve. Yesterday turned out to be very cloudy and chilly but we had a good walk to the marina and checked the shops out. Today is looking more promising but only low 20’s so will walk again. There are many lovely walks we can do if the joints hold up😂 We collect our car tmrw so can plan some trips further afield. I had to smile seeing some laying on the sun beds still with coats on!!
Pleased to hear the good news Urmstongran and hope you both get away in the summer to relax.
Have a great day everyone
Good morning all from a soggy North Leicestershire.
.
Didn't manage any admin yesterday so that is my plan for today. Let's see if it happens today.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Urms such good news
Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, but it is only 6°C.
Good to hear Urms' good news.
Yesterday turned out to be a bit of a fiasco, Having had no notification of the the nurse's visit, I phoned the care provider. They had note of her visit, but no time.
I asked the reason for her visit, to be told it was a training visit, to demonstrate how to inject myself. A training visit? I have been injecting biologics for four years!!
The agent asked if I wanted to cancel and I asked what the consequences were, none.
I explained that my treatment had already been put on hold, because the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. I also asked her to pass on my comments to a manager, as there were training issues here. The initial agent a few weeks ago had been unable to deviate from her script and had given me incorrect information.
I was really annoyed that I had wasted so much time.
Five minutes later, I received a call from a nurse, asking if I was expecting a visit today. She explained that unfortunately they were cancelling my visit, due to staff illness.
When I questioned the reason for the visit, she said it was to supervise me injecting myself!
I explained I had been doing it for years. She then floored me by saying that they would have an Epipen ready in case I suffered ANAPHYLAXIS !!
Not exactly encouraging, especially as I had a attack after taking a single R.A tablet a few years ago.
There are no appointments for weeks, so my treatment is delayed yet again!
I could have wept with frustration, because I am really struggling just now.
I decided to phone the hospital help line for some advice, knowing that it can take three days for a response.
To my astonishment, ten minutes later, I received a call from one of the staff. The result, I have a telephone consultation at 9am.
They are a fantastic team, I felt a load had lifted from my shoulders.
As you can imagine, my anxiety levels are through the roof.
Later, we visited the local plant nursery, which has grown to 52 acres, you would need a day to go round it! DH will only buy his begonias there. I treated myself to a new strawberry container, then couldn't find the strawberry plants, the site is huge. 😂
I came back from a meeting with the PP to find DH waiting at the door. We had a damp patch on the kitchen ceiling, the same ceiling which came down last year, due to a leak. 😭
I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with life at the moment, to say the least. So unlike me.
Today we are off out to look for a new lightweight, waterproof rain jacket for me, despite the sun shining. On holiday last week, I realised my present one wasn't fit for purpose. It seems to have shrunk! 😂
Thinking of all our friends, who have so much worry and sadness to contend with. My difficulties are nothing compared to some.
Enjoy your day folks.
Wonderful news Urms 🙏
Good morning from East Yorkshire where it is raining.
We had an enjoyable day yesterday but were disappointed when we arrived at our holiday accommodation as it was not as described😡We were offered an alternative but booked into a hotel instead. We had thought we may stay here another couple of days but as the weather isn’t great we will travel home today.Disappointing but such is life.We are going away again shortly so have that to look forward to.
Urms I am delighted to hear your brilliant news🥳
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning from an overcast W Kent.
Urms so pleased to read your good news.
Lovely morning yesterday with DF, we worked out we have drunk tea together for 54 years, what a lot of tea and chat.
Catching up with friends this week so a bit more driving to see another friend.
The Kent countryside is looking great just too many cars mine included.
Best wishes to all
Good morning and yes it’s overcast here in Essex. Maybe some rain later.
Dh went fishing yesterday and Wednesday (his usual day) is looking wet.
Lovely to have a day at home on my own.
Shampooed the carpets , opened all the windows and the sun dried them in no time. 👍.
Had lunch and read my book in the garden.
Started to lop a big old shrub and then ….the phone rang.
Dgd’s school saying she’s had a fall and bumped her head. Can’t get hold of mum so can you come and collect her.
No car as Dh had it so walked round to get her. I brought her back to mine, got through to her mum and waited for Dh to bring the car back and took her home.
Oh well! She was absolutely fine, so no A and E, thank goodness!
Wonderful news Urms.
Today I have Bridge club but must pop in to town and buy ‘another’ sympathy card for one of our members/friends.
I bought a lovely one a few days ago but when I got home it said ‘thoughts to you and your family’. She has no family and is all alone in the world. 😥
I hope your days are ‘good’ ones.🌸
