Good Morning Everyone,
its grey cloud and its raining here in brackley this morning.
It makes you wonder if the UK will get the extreme weather conditions they have had in parts of Europe .
Plan to my usual today and have at least a couple of hours in Bicester and meet up with some I know.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a fairly bright morning in Torbay but with rain expected before lunchtime.

Early up and out here for DH to catch a train to London as he’s going back to France but will be back within a couple of weeks. After dropping him at the station, I’ll drive back to take the car to be serviced near home.

Very glad to hear positive news from Urmstongran. 💐

Happy hump day! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from a wet Bristol. My newly planted annuals will love it!
I went into town early yesterday and got some fabric to finish my quilt, then various bits and pieces. I spent the rest of the day quietly, although my nap was interrupted by one of my DD’s friends. He has a van which took away a bookshelf my father made for Mum’m mother. It is large and very heavy. Previous attempts to take it away in two different cars failed. I had it in the hallway, well tucked in, but “the management” decided it was a fire hazard (why?) and it needed to be removed asap.
My first PCC meeting went well; it was well chaired, no-one waffled or whinged; business was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Amazing! Best of all they take place every two months…. Unfortunately, it poured with rain all evening and I was pretty damp by the time I got home.
Morning prayers today. If it isn’t too wet, I’m going to get some runner bean plants (one?) and a courgette for my last two pots.
Quiet all day otherwise.
Trust Urms et al are still on cloud 9. May everyone’s difficulties be lessened today. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

RosesandLilac Wed 22-May-24 06:03:38

Good morning from a rainy hillside in south Glos, welcome weather for my garden.
DH has finished the patio and it looks lovely.
Yesterday was quiet, I didn’t do much other than the usual household chores, I really do have a very quiet life 😊
Today I need to collect my prescription from the surgery, I fancy a pastry from the village store and maybe I will go for coffee at the cafe?
Dog will need a walk so perhaps I can combine everything in one trip.
Take care everyone 🌹

Good morning from Shropshire where heavy rain is forecast all day.

We spent the morning in Beverley yesterday then down to the Humber Bridge viewing point then a long drive home.
Today we are going to DGD’s school Pentecost service where she is reading then home to unpack after our aborted holiday. There is a possibility we will get our money back as the holiday accommodation was not as advertised😡

Safe journey to olddudders.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩

Jaxjacky Wed 22-May-24 06:17:24

Morning Mick and all from very light drizzle in S Hants, heavier rain due, our garden will drink it in gMattie as will yours.
Safe journey to oldudders Ashcombe.
I finally got the main dealer of my car to sort a niggle yesterday, my own fault, a button I’d set whilst fiddling that I couldn’t unset.
Library today, might catch up some TV if the rain sets in, MrJ is pricing a job.

Morning all from a damp looking West Oxfordshire.
It is my daughter’s 43rd birthday today and elder son’s 41st. Doesn’t time fly!
I am seeing the dentist this morning, I spoke to the receptionist the other day and explained about my tooth. She said to bring it along to the checkup, but as the dentist is booked up with appointments I’ll probably have to go back another time.
I’m starting a 7-day blood pressure check today. I had my annual long term conditions check recently and my blood pressure was a bit high. They only took once - I’m sure they usually check it at least twice. Anyway, I’ve printed off a chart and will do as requested.
OH and I are going out for lunch at one of our favourite places. He’s having a break from his bees today but is off to buy two new Queens tomorrow.
Have a good day, especially the Urms who are probably still on ⛅️ 9!

Bonnybanko Wed 22-May-24 06:22:35

Good morning all from a cooler morning here on the east coast of Fife.
The weather forecast says it’s to rain today but I’m glad because my bedding plants look in need of a drink.
Lots of family coming today I’m going to have fun.

Have a good day my friends for who knows what tomorrow will bring?

karmalady Wed 22-May-24 06:40:56

Good morning from a very soggy s somerset, it rained all evening and through the night and will be raining all day today, without the thunder

Yesterday was full and busy, including a 2 hour hilly cycle ride, back by 11 with a lovely day ahead of me. Into town next followed by making and spraying spider deterrent into a keter outdoor unit. I packed everything into spider-proof clear zipped bags and I re-filled the keter. A bit of sewing later, just an hour and I am nearly done

Today I have some very tricky buttonholes to make and it will be a less physical day. I was tired by bedtime

Have a good day

kittylester Wed 22-May-24 06:52:16

Good morning all from a very wet North Leicestershire where it has poured all night and doesn't look like stopping.

I am helping on another Carer's course this morning and the cleaners will be here at 8.45. DH is off to the gym. He is glad to be back to normal after having a chest infection.

Have the best day possible everyone.

cornergran Wed 22-May-24 06:54:34

Morning Mick, morning All from a very wet corner of Somerset. Heavy rain forecast for most of the day.

Yesterday involved a frustrating and long call to our energy provider. It took an unnecessarily long time for the issue to be understood and to reach the required department. I was pretty cross (furious!) until I finally reached an individual who is now investigating the issue.

Shame about the weather this morning as friends will be here for the day. Never mind, we’ll still enjoy a catch-up and will visit a museum they are keen to see. Having said that they both dislike being out in sunshine so maybe the rain could be seen as a bonus - maybe!

Have the best day you can everyone.

monk08 Wed 22-May-24 07:03:57

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
I'm helping at playgroup this morning, no other plans will see how I feel after its finished.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-May-24 07:09:03

Morning all from a grey wet S E Essex ☔️

Gym first thing and then a pottering day. The 9yr old is sleeping over as it’s an early school start tomorrow (stately home visit) So I am off to buy his favourite steak for dinner and goodies for his packed lunch.

Have a good day, stay dry 🙋‍♀️

brook2704 Wed 22-May-24 07:12:49

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey and misty start of the day with some rain forecast for later this afternoon
Safe journey to oldd Ash it won’t be long until he’s back
Nothing much planned for today, we’ll see how the day goes. We’ve got a covering of fine yellow dust all over things outside, I think it must be pine tree pollen, but all the outside windowsills need a wipe over so I’ll probably get on with that. The car needs a good clean too but DH will tackle that
Enjoy the day with your friends corner
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Greyduster Wed 22-May-24 07:13:07

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. Rain is set for a couple of days here. I could have done without it today. I have family visiting and it would have been nice to be able to have lunch in the garden, but it will be lovely to see them. I also have a chap coming this morning to look at some windows that need repairing. Unfortunately they are both in places that will probably need scaffolding to get to. Nothing is ever straightforward here!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Georgesgran Wed 22-May-24 07:19:45

Good morning from Durham. It’s raining, I wish I’d checked the forecast before I washed DD2’s towels - will have to use the tumble dryer!
I’ve already fired off an email to Octopus about a refund - they say I need to get my account back on track first?? What??
Routine annual blood test this morning, then a bit of food shopping. Admin at home.
I’ll walk Little Dog later, somewhere he won’t get too dirty.
Best wishes to all. X

Grandmabatty Wed 22-May-24 07:22:19

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and damp. The garden needs rain. Susan how disappointing about your holiday. I hope you get money back. Brook I've had a lot of yellow dust on the car. I wondered if it had blown in from the Sahara.
Yesterday was a good day with dgs2. Lots of playing. He insists that I am a willing audience and participant. The social worker phoned to update on mum. The guardianship process is moving along.
Today is my quiet day to myself, although I half expect dd to call in. She's on holiday today because dgs2 starts at the play group this morning and she wanted to take him. Fingers crossed he's ok as he can be shy. I shall potter about the house. If it dries up, I'll get into the garden and continue pulling up the Spanish bluebells which are everywhere. Have a good day all.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 22-May-24 07:24:21

Good morning from a dull forecast wet all day South Downs.

Yesterday we cleared the utility area of all the rubbish we have been accumulating and as soon as it is fine (tomorrow?) I will get to and sweep up and reorganise and tidy. All the big out of use pots, compost, gravel etc. that will be a job done I’ve been meaning to do for months.

Booster today. Then not sure because of the rain. Plenty to do just got to decide.

The fledgling starlings are tottering around, and getting themselves in a muddle. Found two in the greenhouse and nearly trod on one hiding under the lavender. I must make sure the fly screen is across in the conservatory as they will keep flying in and the panicking snd pooing everywhere.

I have very large hostas in pots sitting on gravel and tried an experiment this year by not using any slug bait/nematodes - result - lace - so that didn’t work. Think it is probably too late to rescue them to be their lovely glossy selves, but will send away for more nematodes.

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony

Pittcity Wed 22-May-24 07:36:22

Good morning from a warm, wet Colchester.
Brolly in use for short walk to coffee meetup in the City centre.
DH is cooking chicken curry for lunch as he is off for an overnight fishing session later.
I'll take the opportunity to hoover and mop while there's nobody here to mess the place up.
Love to all 🦩 x

GrannyIvy Wed 22-May-24 07:47:16

Good morning from a sunny Algarve. We are collecting our hire car first thing so will do a drive out to one of our favourite lake side walks and across the “rickety bridge” to the beach. Maybe a big supermarket shop to stock up on the way back. DD2 and two GC arriving on Friday evening getting prepared.
Wishing a happy peaceful day to all 💐.

NannyJan53 Wed 22-May-24 07:52:01

Good morning from a very wet and dull Black Country.

Audiology appointment at 9am, as my left ear hearing aid keeps popping off the tube, and makes awful screeching noise before it does. Never had that happen before.

Afterwards, will pop into Merry Hell Hill to see if I can spend a Next voucher I had for Mothers Day.

Then home to a pile of ironing I have been ignoring for ages. Then start packing for our trip tomorrow, as we are going to Bristol for the Theatre to see Hamilton. Then Friday onto our caravan in Somerset to stay for a few days. See how it has fared over the Winter storage.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Alygran Wed 22-May-24 07:52:22

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s raining.
Today’s plan was to go to York to do a mystery puzzle trail but in view of the weather we are postponing it. Instead we’ll be going to an Indian restaurant for dinner this evening.
So what to do today? Hmmm.
Have a good day everyone.

Grammaretto Wed 22-May-24 07:57:29

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's cold and wet.

I have been invited to a special restaurant for lunch with a df to celebrate her birthday. Her OH is on a trip abroad but has paid for us both I hope
I may have time for yarn group first.

Susan what a disappointment. I hope you have a better holiday soon.

Georgesgran I hope your personal energy crisis gets resolved soon And my roof and ceiling

Your buildings management seem extremely fussy and controlling gMattie what are you supposed to do with the books?

Such good news from Urms 🌝🌞

Hope everyone has some joy today.

luluaugust Wed 22-May-24 07:57:46

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Yesterday’s drive out into the countryside so different to the day before, rained all the way. Today I am visiting a local friend I haven’t seen for ages and start thinking about what I need to take to DS’s house to house sit next week
All the best

Urmstongran Wed 22-May-24 07:58:23

Good morning everyone from a very soggy south Manchester. It’s still chucking it down as I’m drinking my TIB brought to me by Himself. I need to shake a leg soon as I’m to be at the surgery in an hour for a repeat of a kidney function blood test.

No plans for today. Himself will sleep for a couple of hours in the afternoon same as every Wednesday and Thursday post chemo. I plan to watch ‘Crawdads’ on Netflix while he’s asleep. I loved the book I hope the film doesn’t disappoint.
#lazygran

I shall be with our daughter at 6pm to watch L’il Miss swimming lesson. She glides through that pool water like a slippery little eel - no splashing from her as she does the front crawl. It’s a nice half hour every week with our younger daughter. Our Yorkshire Lass and her husband (still love saying that as they lived together for ten years until they married last year!) are over in our little apartment in Málaga for a week. She rang yesterday “mum I’d forgotten how lovely it is here!”. Aw.

Have the best day you can folk - whether you have plans or none. x
