Best Day Of The Week.

At my age every day is the best day

Once retired I completely switched my favorite day to Mondays! I can sleep in, plan a fun week, relax. I also love Fridays and Saturdays which comprise my weekend.

Ho-hum Sundays are quiet, reflective, relaxing and generally do not leave the house. I do not plan anything nor accept any invitations.

I’ve always loked Wednesdays, don’t know why?? Maybe because it’s a quieter day!
Going back to work never bothered me as I loved my job😊.
I hate Bank Holidays, too busy!!

I’m with pantglas2 exactly my thoughts now we retired. Weather seems to dominate what we do 😂

So sorry to hear you are lonely. Is there nowhere you could go to meet other people of similar age ie. Age u.k. or U3A.
Maybe get a cat or dog they are great company.

Oh Bacardi and coke for me on a Friday too, Nankate. It wasn’t always this way however it’s developed over the years since it was just the two of us again. A walk to the local at 6 pm it’s a weekly highlight for sure.

Now we are both retired every day the same really, though we like the week days to visit national trust places and parks etc as it’s much quieter than weekends

Always disliked Sundays, spent too much time worrying about work on Mondays to enjoy the day off. Been retired now for many years but still can't shake off that Sunday feeling.

Since we retired every day is the best day, no day set set aside for specific tasks, just do as we please as and when, spontaneity, imagination and a love of life.

When I first read your post I thought you had written "spontaneity and imagination in our love life" ......although if that is how your retirement is going.......

I worked for a long time so every day of my retirement is precious. Waking and knowing I don't have to rush off to work, take children to school or have loads of housework to do is wonderful. The days are just for me now.

It’s got to be a Monday morning thing. I never sleep very well on Sunday nights even though I retired some years ago. Your mind must remember 😂

While I was working, I designated Thursday evening as housework and washing time, as I refused to spend my weekends attending to tasks that I could just as well do on a weekday or two after work.

As a teacher my school year was dominated by which classes I had to teach on which day of the week, rather than if the day was Monday or Friday or anything in between.

Usually Mondays were good days, as pupils were glad to be back at school rather than having to fit in with their parents' ideas of a good week-end. Tuesdays were more of a drag, as the children had realised that there were three more days to get through before next weekend!

Love a Monday! I’ve been retired from teaching for 4 years, but still get a thrill from waking up with no work to go to! Also in term time, Monday is back to school day, which means I can sit in my garden without kids screaming and yelling nearby!

I hardly know what day of the week it is. We used to go to a sports group on a Tuesday but since OH op we can't join in now. So nothing to hang the week on.

Never worked 9-5 so I loved having time off in the week when shopping was much easier. Now I'm retired I like the weekend as family often come to stay.

I like Wednesdays, jobs usually done and often a day out. My grandsons favourite day is Wednesday too, because “ football this afternoon and a roast at school dinners”. Although he thinks the school cook isn’t a professional as there are no Yorkshire puddings!

As I spent 50 years working as a nurse, I did all the necessary things on different days depending on shifts and days not working. I also quite enjoyed working night duties and did for many years, so routine days for doing routine things didn't exist.
I always enjoyed doing things when I wanted not because I needed to.

No problem with days, now that we're retired they are all lovely, even the rainy ones.
But holidays have lost their zing, much the same as any other day.

Do not like any say of the week to be honest! Living alone & family working all day to keep the roof over there heads I see & talk to no one for days on end! Highlight of the week is the shopping delivery! If weather is bad I do not get out for a walk. Sad life now but beats the alternative as my Nan used to say!

Now that I’m retired I don’t have set days for shopping or housework so don’t love/hate a particular day.

I’m more inclined to hate bad weather which means I have to rearrange what I’d planned on a given day.

Friday is my favourite. Tuesday is Blues day, chores all the way. I’ve always disliked Tuesday since I was at school, so now I just go with it and get the horrible stuff done then.

Now I’m well and truly retired (and used to it), I love each day. I no longer have the Sunday night dread (and Sunday afternoon prep for the week ahead), or the Saturday rush ( where shopping, cleaning, washing, was done - how I fitted all that in I really don’t know 😮😂). No, I definitely do not have a day I dislike anymore.
