Good Morning Everyone,
I`ve woken to dry but grey cloud morning here in brackley.
The usual routine for me going to Bicester which town centre wise is very quiet ,as most seem to shop either online or use the sops located on the outside of the town .
Watch the cycling unfold with the race in Italy finishing at the weekend .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a grey Bristol. My plants loved yesterday’s rain 🌧️. While none is forecast today, it will be chillier and dull.
I went to morning prayers and chatted to the other attendee. We are planning a meet-up for people living alone, who may be lonely and glad of someone to talk to. I was anxious that attendees didn’t think it was a dating thing, so we did a little notice for the weekly sheet which included “the only matchmaking will be between the wine and cheese”! 😂
I spent th3 rest of the day pottering, making some (very popular) cranberry and orange marmalade, sewing and reading.
I have just finished what a critic declared was a “ridiculously entertaining” courtroom drama by Rob Rinder “the trial”.
Apart from indoor tai chi this morning, I shall sew and prepare myself to see my boy who is returning tomorrow morning. So happy.
BTW the bookshelf I gave DD was standing empty, awaiting (and waiting…) collection.
May you enjoy little moments of joy and happiness today. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a calm, dry Torbay which is welcome after yesterday’s occasional heavy downpours. Luckily, I managed to avoid them whilst walking to and fro the nearby garage where my car was being serviced.

Thank you for the good wishes for DH as he travelled back to France. He arrived home safely after an uneventful journey by rail, his usual mode of travel. He’s due to return in a couple of weeks.

Today, I really must tackle the Winter to Summer clothes swap, impossible to achieve with another person in the flat! Ideally, I should cull the number of items but don’t hold your breath…..!

Have a good day, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning, it’s grey skies and cool here in south Glos after yesterday’s rain.
The saga continues - no surprises that the wretched summerhouse leaks. I have emailed photos to the company but I really just want to get rid of it now. If it leaks through the wood (not the joins) in light rain goodness knows what it will be like in heavy rain or gales.
Sadly we’re going to my lovely neighbour’s funeral this morning, a true gentleman.
Probably just coincidence but there have been 8 former army members who have died young from cancer in this end of the estate over the last 5 years, so sad.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It is cloudy but I don’t think rain is forecast.
OH is going off to buy a couple of Queens today. This bee keeping lark sounds very complicated!
I still have a couple of lectures to listen to for my V&A course on medieval women.
Other than that who knows?
Have a good day everyone.

karmalady Thu 23-May-24 06:18:00

Good morning from s somerset, dull skies here right now but a dry day today with pops of sun

I should do some tidying today but probably won`t. It is definitely going to be a bits and bobs day but they often turn out to be the best.

Have a good day

Bonnybanko Thu 23-May-24 06:24:08

Good morning all from what’s been a windy night here on the east coast of Fife. My family from down under eventually arrived and we went down memory lane.

Today it’ll be more reminiscing it’ll be a good day apart from the weather which has changed from a very warm few days into raging wind and rain
That’s the heating on again it’s really quite cold, jIt’s going to be a real fry up this morning bacon, eggs, beef sausages, black pudding(yuck) I’m not so fond of black pudding myself, tea and toast and more catch ups.

Hey ho I’m so blessed

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 23-May-24 06:27:32

Good morning from a dull but dry Oxfordshire, I can see a patch of blue sky so who knows what the day will bring.

Banking to sort today, probably will both need to go into the bank and sort it out in person, that will be fun! Not.

Have a good day everyone.

Georgesgran Thu 23-May-24 06:51:47

Good morning from a wet Durham - still raining.
My problem with Octopus appears to be resolved - seems a bit too easy.
The summerhouse saga sounds as if it will drag on Roses. Is there no guarantee or recourse through your method of payment? I can imagine you’re heartily sick of it now.
I’m meeting a friend this morning for coffee - we’ve been friends 53 years, meet weekly now and always have things to talk about.
When I get home there’s a pile of ironing to tackle and I’ll have to walk Little Dog, despite the weather.
Hope MaryD had a better day.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all and it’s dry at the moment but overcast here in Essex.

Bonnybanko. Have fun with your family. I love your upbeat posts every day.,💓.

Rosesand lilac I could scream for you! Don’t give up with the company and keep on til you get your money back. We’ve had our summerhouse for 7 years, we overlook the North Sea and have no protection, but it’s withstood gales, torrential rain , glaring sun and storms. Yours is not fit for purpose! Good luck !

Bowls and shopping today.

Take care everyone 🌸

kittylester Thu 23-May-24 06:58:11

Good morning all from an overcast North Leicestershire.

I have a singing lesson and ironing today. I know which I prefer! Sainsbury's delivery later. DH is doing a drive.

Have the best day possible, everyone.

Morning all from a grey S E Essex

Just waiting for the 9yr old to wake up, then I shall cook his breakfast, make a packed lunch and get him to school for 8am. He is going on a school trip to Lower Marney,( a stately home, as it was in the olden days )

I have the hairdressers this morning, then think of something for dinner…

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

Grandmabatty Thu 23-May-24 07:02:12

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and grey. Rain is forecast for most of the day. Georgesgran enjoy your catch up with your friend. RosesandLilac that's such a scunner about the summer house. GrandMattie your marmalade sounds lovely.
Yesterday was a very lazy day for me. It did rain most of the day which is my excuse. I went to bed very early too, read for a while and had a reasonable sleep.
Today is another quiet day. I don't have any plans so far. I shall see how the day unfolds. Pasta for dinner tonight. Have a good day all.

glammagran Thu 23-May-24 07:03:05

Good morning from cloudy Wiltshire. Heavens opened late on Tuesday and only let up yesterday evening.

We are spending the night in Bristol as we are going to see a Norwegian trio at St George’s church hall.

DGS2 was good fun on Tuesday. He came over with his scooter. Gramps told him to put his hat on first and with great scorn was told “that it’s a helmet not a hat”. He does talk far more clearly than his sister did at the same age. His scarlet fever seems a lot better and he ate quite a lot for him but slept a bit more than usual. DGD1 had a cough on Monday it didn’t seem to affect her too much. Her speech has greatly improved after speech therapy which should really have happened during the lockdown period.

Terrific news for your family Urmstongran, after so much worry. Feeling very sorry for Roses this morning with her ongoing greenhouse fiasco.

Enjoy your day everyone. Weekend is looking a bit better weather wise.

Greyduster Thu 23-May-24 07:05:56

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining at the moment in South Yorkshire but there’s a brisk, chill wind. One of my roses has taken a battering in the heavy rain we had yesterday. The patio is covered in petals. My nephew and his wife came yesterday with their grandson. He’s a lovely sunny toddler who, after initial shyness, soon found his way onto my knee. I made a nice lunch and we had a lovely afternoon despite the weather keeping us in.
Today, as it is reasonably dry, I will go out with the walking group and then call in on DD. I’ll take her some of the hot-smoked salmon and asparagus quiche I made yesterday which I know she’ll enjoy.
Have the best day you can, folks.

brook2704 Thu 23-May-24 07:19:56

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and wet, we’ve had lots of rain since yesterday so the garden is fully watered, just need the rain to stop now
What a shame about the summerhouse roses, it’s just been one thing after another, no wonder you’re fed up with it
I’ve a busy day ahead, DD2 is working so I’ve been asked to take DGD to the optician for an eye test as she’s been saying she can’t see properly at school. Also taking her to after school activities and then back here for a sleepover tonight
Good news about your DGD glammagran and pleased to hear your DGS is getting better now after his scarlet fever
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings

Susan56 Thu 23-May-24 07:34:54

Good morning from Shropshire.A dry day forecast but looks breezy out there.

Nothing planned today apart from a food shop.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Marydoll Thu 23-May-24 07:38:19

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 11°C.

Rose&lilac, what a pity about your summer house. I would be raging.
I meant to say yesterday Susan, that I was so sorry your holiday had been cut short. How disappointing.

We have Babydoll today, a trip to Dollie's sports day was planned, but it has been cancelled, due to a yellow weather warning, Disappointment all round.
It is probably for the best, she has been under the weather and chesty. We have renamed her, Snotty Lotty.
She is indeed her daddy's girl, she is the image of him.
DS2 was a very poorly child, always wheezy and unwell, a nebuliser and Epipen were part of the medical equipment at home.
When I look at her, I get flashbacks of various crises and become quite emotional.
Hopefully she hasn't inherited all DS's allergies.

Thank you Georgegran. Yesterday was not as stressful.
However, I was sitting in the pharmacy, when one of my former pupils came in. He had changed physically, but his pacing up and down triggered a memory.

His sister was also a former pupil, who died of cancer, leaving two young children. One day I got a call at school, she told me she had weeks to live and asked if I could keep an eye on her children at school, after she had died.
I was distraught that day, when I came off the phone.

The young man started to tell me all his troubles. He had been addicted to alcohol and street valium, after his girlfriend stabbed him. Realising how awful his life was, he had gone to his mum ( a very formidable lady and asked for help,)
He was admitted to a hospital alcohol unit, was now clean and had a job.
I told him how brave he was and that I was proud that he had turned his life around.

I felt really sad driving home. DH was waiting for me as I got out of the car.
^I have two missed phone calls from Virgin Media on my phone, I never heard them, but I am not deaf
What could I say? I am resigned to the fact my email account won't be sorted.
My NHS account is linked to that account, which will cause all sorts of problems.

I wish you all a good and day and a special mention to my GN pal, who is quite poorly.💐

Pittcity Thu 23-May-24 07:40:27

Good morning from a grey but dry Colchester.
I didn't get to Aldi yesterday as it rained all day, so I'll go first thing. I have a lunchtime optician appointment and will change our bedding. Think that'll be enough excitement for one day 😆.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Shopping today, friends coming later.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Bellasnana Thu 23-May-24 07:43:13

Good morning from Malta where it’s going to be a scorcher 29°C.

It’s my long day with the boys today. Might take them out early as it is soon going to be too hot.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

baubles Thu 23-May-24 07:47:24

Good morning from soggy South Lanarkshire, what a horrible change of weather.

Some of our yarn group spent the evening with the local Guides whose leaders had asked if we could get them started on a project. I came home exhausted from the effort of trying to teach my table of eight girls how to make a chain. Some of them quite understandably couldn’t get to grips with it while others were off making circles already.

DSoutL is scheduled to play a golf match early evening so has called on us to be with the children as DD is in the office today but I’m thinking the course may be waterlogged.
If it goes ahead I’ll miss my yarn group meeting this evening but will see the children again which more than compensates.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

luluaugust Thu 23-May-24 07:50:41

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Off to art this morning, the number going now is shrinking I wonder how long we will keep going. Probably a quiet afternoon to follow.
Best wishes to all

Gala Thu 23-May-24 07:51:05

Good morning from a cold, wet , windy & miserable Sefton. Another wet & windy day is forecast. Oh joy. A very busy day yesterday with exercise classes & a nursery pickup. We had no option but to go out & run the gauntlet of the really vile weather. Really feel for people in areas which have had it worse.
Zumba class, fish man & a food shop but that is definitely it for today. Think the heating may have to go back on temporarily. Eventually saw Urms news yesterday. So pleased for you both. Must be such a relief.
Hoping today is kind to everyone

NannyJan53 Thu 23-May-24 07:54:24

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country after a day of continual rain yesterday.

Sorting out clothes to take away with us as we are off to Bristol this afternoon to see Hamilton. Stay overnight, then onto Somerset for a few days in the caravan.

Wishing you all the best day possible
