I think Faye Tozers and Giovannis dance to the Lonely Goatherd was an all time great - as was his wonderful performances with Rose. Debbie Magee knows how to work hard. She is not arrogant or self satisfied or unpleasant and wants to learn - very unlike those who are now complaining. I’m afraid - what unprofessional people they are. As another person wrote- you never see any of the athletes complaining because they are not pleased with themselves and know what hard training is all about.

Before anyone thinks that it’s a ‘Me Too’ situation, I have heard , on GB News that it is that he is a hard task master. He demands that his pupils work very hard and that’s something that some regard as abusive . I don’t watch Strictly but I know that to learn a skill like that takes hard work, dedication and a WILLINGNESS TO LEARN. If the female dance partners aren’t up to it , then don’t do it. Take up something easier … flower arranging, I hear, can be very immersive and won’t lead to PTSD … shouldn’t think so.

I don't see any victim blaming, we don't know if there are any victims do we.

There are proper avenues available for formal complaints which should be used. If this had been done there'd be no basis for speculation which if proved to be unfounded, may well have already had a negative affect on an innocent man's life.

This is a sad situation for everyone involved. Giovanni like any employee has the right to know what the actual accusations against him are and given the right of reply. At the moment none of us know the detail other than statements that these people felt bullied by him. That is far to general and needs to be much more specific. I hope for all concerned that this can be resolved as quickly as possible.

I am another one to agree with BlueBelle. This has been explained so many times, and yet the same old victim blaming continues.

Gio has reportedly said he asked for videos to be taken during his training time with Amanda as he was concerned about her wellbeing (or similar). Apparently this was not granted/approved, which is a shame in view of the latest 'witch hunt'!

Lemsip with any form of abuse be it physical mental or verbal the abused will rarely leave at the time they will blame them selves for not doing it right, not being good enough, not working hard enough and they play on and on to try and do what is needed to make it right. Annebach the answer is exactly as above people rarely walk away until abuse has got well over the top, the women (some men too) would be blaming themselves be believing they were in the wrong especially if others were raving about how well their learning was going Its only after you are OUT of. the relationship (and a teacher/learner is a temporary relationship) that you will realise your treatment has been wrong

Debbie McGee trained as a dancer and would have been well aware of the level of hard work that was going to be required, and surprise, surprise she has no complaints.

My daughter and I went to see Giovanni a few weeks ago. All his dancers had obviously worked incredibly hard to produce such a good show. His partner is an amazing dancer and they seemed to have a very good relationship. I imagine he had kept a pretty firm grip on the whole production but everyone seemed to be enjoying it.

Remember the fuss there was when Torville and Dean were training for their comeback years ago? Jayne was crying about something she couldn't get right and Chris yelled "Don't start fucking crying" Lots of shock, horror that he could swear at dear little Jayne but you don't get to be champions in anything by just saying "Never mind dear, it doesn't matter"

surely if it was so bad for Michelle Visage, Faye Tozer ect ect they would have pulled out at the time where as they stayed at it!

Giovanni has instructed solicitors to act on his behalf- defamation, loss of earnings etc and the BBC are now 'wading through 9 years of tapes'.
Rose ( or a spokesperson on her behalf) has said that she believes what the 3 women said ( their solicitors apparently charge £700 per hour!) but she hasn't said anything negative about her experience with Gio, ( its being presumed that because there was always an interpreter present maybe she didnt have the same alleged over strict training...)
Other Strictly pros are quietly distancing themselves from Gio (and other than Anton dont seem to have come out in support) on social media it seems, and Michelle Visage is rumoured to be coming out in support of the 3 women with Faye Tozer being quoted as having spoken out about difficulties in the training room- whether at the time or since I dont know, but shes been mentioned in news articles.
All in all its a mess and it has been said (although I think its highly unlikely) that this could be the end of Strictly in the format as we know it.
Its being said that the BBC will need to improve safeguarding measures eg chaperones present at every training session for every couple and more robust psychological assessments before celebs are finally selected to see if theyll be able to cope...no idea how this is going to play out, at all.
Feel very sad that its come to this tbh.
