Good Morning Everyone,
Its a blue sky with some cloud this morning and dry at the moment here in brackley .Health wise seem to improve daily .
Something about where I live , town wise but away from the normal , some weeks back at a disused airfield they built the latest Ben Ainslie's Yacht for the Americas cup , also F1 with Mercedes in the town as seen Manchester United staff calling in at the F1 site as well.
Today , usual rip to Bicester , with the penultimate stage of the Giro on TV , followed by a walk to the Chinese Take Away for a favourite dish.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick, it’s dry here too but cloudy.
That’s very diverse activities on the airfield near you!
It sounds like you have lovely plans for today.
Yesterday I cleaned out the fridge, discarded a number of out of date half empty jars 🙄 and now it’s tidy. Then I tackled the rest of the utility room, I need to get reproof my waterproof jackets then it’s done. All of the stuff DH dumped in there was put outside for him to sort and put in his shed so it’s looking much tidier.
Dog and I had a lovely afternoon wander, she enjoyed chasing around with her ball bless her. She really is a poppet.
Today I want to get my potted plug plants out into the garden, I also need to sort out a small border at the front on the house.
I have bird feeders I can see from the living room, yesterday there were a number of goldfinches, I haven’t seen any for months so I was delighted! The sparrows are feeding their young all day long, such hard work for them.
Have a lovely weekend everyone 🌹

Good morning from a grey Bristol.
My boy came home safely if later than expected; I’d forgotten how hyperactive he is. Never stops.
Because DD is have SiL’s little nieces for the night, he is (unexpectedly) coming over for the night. I shall have to think of a meaty dinner, DD and family are veggies but he is emphatically carnivorous.
I arranged to meet someone regarding giving away patchwork fabric after I go to town for a few things. There is no church coffee today.
I hope the weather holds for everyone to enjoy their long weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Pantglas2 Sat 25-May-24 05:47:03

Gosh you’re early this morning Mick! I’m still on Spanish time and I’d forgotten how light it is back here at sparrowfart! Hope you enjoy the rest of the Giro 🚴🏻 - I saw Geraint Thomas take a tumble…ouch!

It’s a gorgeous morning and 🌞 promised all day so I’m trotting off for a newspaper in the next town. It’s 3 miles round trip along a wooded strip, some new houses I can peer into (love checking out folks furnishings…🤥) a building site so I can let Mr PG know what stage they’re at 🫨 I know, but he’s still a builder at heart! Hopefully some wildlife will accompany me and I’ll be home in an hour!

Hope you all have a good day and clement weather wherever you are x

Ashcombe Sat 25-May-24 06:05:11

Good morning from a bright but chilly part of central Devon where I was glad I had packed my fleecy onesie as the temperature dipped to five degrees overnight!

I’m glad your DS has arrived safely, grandMattie. It isn’t difficult to imagine from whom he has inherited his hyperactivity!

Your holiday seems to have gone well, Pantglas2 - I hope you enjoy your walk.

Today there's some kind of gathering on site with a cream tea. I’ll go along to be sociable although I’m not a big fan of cream.

Have a good day, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

grandMattie Sat 25-May-24 06:10:43

It certainly has turned chilly again, Ash. Enjoy your tea but do you have to have the cream?

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 25-May-24 06:20:50

I love cream! I read somewhere that for her 80th birthday pudding, Agatha Christie was given a large bowl of cream!
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m not sure what I’m doing today. OH is taking his new Queen Bees to his hives and hoping his bees accept them.
I think I might be mainly reading today.
I hope you all have a good day.

Good morning from Malta where we expect a high of 28°C.

I was very touched by all your kind words and 💐💐 yesterday. Thank you so much.

I took the boys out early before the real heat got going but it was still hot! Fortunately we stayed in the shade and the boys kept their hats on so it was good to get out even though we had a few ‘strong feelings’ at the park due to there being only one baby swing. They used to fit in it both together but are too big now so have to take turns. Littlest one does not like taking turns! 😄

I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning and then I need to buy a few groceries then home to do some cleaning and watch the tennis.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Jaxjacky Sat 25-May-24 06:46:25

Morning from high cloud in S Hants. Lots of interesting happenings near you Mick enjoy your Chinese, we had one last night.
Good your boy is staying gMattie you can have a proper catch up.
The weather held yesterday for the wedding and it was a glorious evening when I dropped the grandchildren at the venue.
Today we’re due sun, so bedding wash, newspaper day and later I’ll be in the greenhouse.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C. I have coughed all night long and have hardly slept. There was no need to worry about DH, for he slept through it all!
At 5.30pm I made a cuppa and scoffed an iced bun, which I found! 😁

Glad to hear your son has arrived safely, GM.

I am missing some summer things, so will ask DH to go up the loft to look. However, I must choose my moment, for he is always reluctant to go up. 😉
Today, I shall continue my cull, update the parish website and then it's Vigil Mass tonight.

I've missed Mizuna, I hope she is ok.

Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Sat 25-May-24 06:56:25

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and sadly cloudy again. Mick your area sounds interesting. Ashcombe I'll have your cream for you! GrandMattie it's so lovely for you to have your boy home.
A busy day with the boys yesterday. Dgs2 has taken to going to play group really well. When I picked him up he had done two drawings and iced a cake. It's fantastic how they manage little ones. When I picked up dgs1 from nursery, his nursery teacher said how much she's going to miss him and got quite emotional. Later on, we played outside in the rain and went puddle splashing. Dgs2 got soaked so I'll be doing a wash this morning! The boys were very good and slept all night. I didn't and was reading in the middle of the night 🙄
This morning started early. Dgs2 was shouting for me at six so naturally woke dgs1. They've had first breakfast (they take after me) and dgs1 is watching tv while dgs2 is playing at feeding me plastic food. I'm on coffee number two. The day will unfold in its own way. I don't expect to see dd until eleven at the earliest. Afterwards I will tidy up but that's all. Trout fillet for dinner. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Sat 25-May-24 06:58:25

Marydoll Mizuna said she was going to take a break before her operation.

Good morning from s somerset and it is a beautiful sunny day

Starting with a lovely cycle ride in two hours, I love that I am 5 minutes cycle from country lanes and orchards. The ride today will take me through areas steeped in history, tranquil areas, orchards, past old manors, churches and rectories, thatched roofs. No wonder I always come back uplifted and it is not just the exercise

I have to insert ten magnetic poppers today, I need to do a practice one first, then my overtop will be finished and perfect for walking or cycling. The rest of the day will be whatever develops, no shopping needed

Have a good day

GrannyGravy13 Sat 25-May-24 07:23:08

Morning everyone, usual Saturday bits and bobs here. Butchers, Farm Shop and Aldi.
Then you can find me curled up on my favourite chair with my kindle.

Enjoy your day 🙋‍♀️

harrigran Sat 25-May-24 07:27:27

Good morning from the NE where it is sunny 🌞
Yesterday's lunch out was disappointing, nothing on the menu was really to my liking. My friend had a steak, it was overcooked and I had scallops on the shell but they were miniscule and gritty. Dessert was tarte tatin but the pastry was not cooked.
Today I have the day to myself so will do some cooking.
Have a good weekend.

Greyduster Sat 25-May-24 07:33:30

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cool South Yorkshire where the sun is shining and, for a change, the wind is not blowing! Hurrah! When I got home from school yesterday I had a cup of tea and then went out and cut the back lawn, or most of it. I left a patch because I was just too tired to finish it, but it’s out of the way so isn’t seen. The giraffes will still have somewhere to hide for a while! DD is coming over in a couple of hours to help put a coat of paint on my fence. GS has a shift to work today and then he will come over with his dad and lend a hand. He didn’t want to be left out!
Have the best day you can folks.

Ashcombe Sat 25-May-24 07:33:43

grandMattie

It certainly has turned chilly again, Ash. Enjoy your tea but do you have to have the cream?

I guess it depends how it's served, grandMattie. I’m not a fan of puddings and sweet things generally but, as I’ve become older, cream can make me unwell for some reason. My suggestion by email that the management here served savoury scones produced no response…!

monk08 Sat 25-May-24 07:37:48

Good morning all from a dull Black country, heating has come on yet again when is summer going to appear.
Just a local shop and then back to reading my book.
I'm glad your DS arrived safely GM .
Ash enjoy enjoy your break and I'm another who will have your cream.
Marydoll try to rest after your disturbed night although I know you find that hard to do.
Well Saturday once again so full English calling, will catch up with everybody's happenings later enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire.

Chose our bathroom yesterday, just waiting for the quote (gulp).

Off to buy a new PC this morning, mine finally gave up the ghost yesterday, it’s been struggling for a year, so it has to go, I can’t get to grips with doing everything on my iPad.

Apart from that a clear day.

Have a good day everyone.

grandMattie Sat 25-May-24 07:41:53

Curiously, Ash, I’m the opposite - from not having a sweet tooth to enjoying most sweet things. I find sticky toffee pudding too sweet though!

glammagran Sat 25-May-24 07:46:47

Good morning all from a sunnyish Wiltshire.

Today is my sister’s wedding party. It’s a 2 hour drive to get to the hotel. We will get to the venue by cab. Although it’s her first marriage but she has lived with her other half for 25 years. Unfortunately, my DiL isn’t well enough following her car accident to attend though I’m hoping my DS will come though he will drive home later.

The Norwegian trio with their English sax player we saw at St George’s church hall in Bristol were excellent. The venue which was lovely with fabulous acoustics was pretty much sold out.

A poster yesterday mentioned she was having trouble getting hold of test results from her GP. I know that different trusts use different systems but it’s years since I’ve phoned to get results. I just login to Airmid or NHS health app to view mine.

Have a good Saturday everyone.

Urmstongran Sat 25-May-24 07:47:23

Good morning everybody from a gloriously sunny south Manchester. Himself has the FA Cup Final to watch between his fingers this afternoon. Both Manchester teams playing at Wembley as last year. The Blues will win its just a matter of by how many!

I just took this photo to show you our hosta. It’s well over 20 years old. No slugs up here on the 2nd floor so the variegated leaves always look gorgeous and not like a colander! Purple flowers will be appearing soon.

Doesn’t a beautiful sunny morning lift the spirits? Enjoy this day if you can. x

brook2704 Sat 25-May-24 07:48:46

Good morning everyone from Inverness, where we’ve got a mix of blue sky and white cloud and a high of 19° forecast for later today
So lovely to have your son back with you gMattie enjoy your dinner together later
I’m going round to DD2s later to help with the sorting out and decluttering, on Monday she’s got the estate agent coming round to take pictures. Fingers crossed it’ll sell reasonably quickly although it’s an older house and needs updating so not sure how attractive it’ll be.
Enjoy your cycle ride karma it sounds idyllic
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Pittcity Sat 25-May-24 07:50:45

Good morning from cloudy Colchester. Rain forecast for late morning with an 18° high. I got a huge amount of washing done yesterday resulting in a mountain of ironing to be finished today. I also need a food shop as DS is permanently hungry. Why is adulting mostly deciding what to eat?
Love to all 🦩 x

Whitewavemark2 Sat 25-May-24 07:55:58

Good morning from a sunny South Downs.

Yesterday after finishing tidying the utility area we went for a walk by the river, we so missed our beloved dog who would have loved the walk, but it was such a beautiful day that it lifted our spirits.

Our son is coming to eat later, as his wife is taking her mum away for a long weekend break. Meanwhile, I shall garden of course 🙂.

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony to the world
