Good Morning Everyone,
Its a blue sky with some cloud this morning and dry at the moment here in brackley .Health wise seem to improve daily .
Something about where I live , town wise but away from the normal , some weeks back at a disused airfield they built the latest Ben Ainslie's Yacht for the Americas cup , also F1 with Mercedes in the town as seen Manchester United staff calling in at the F1 site as well.
Today , usual rip to Bicester , with the penultimate stage of the Giro on TV , followed by a walk to the Chinese Take Away for a favourite dish.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset.

Insurance sorted yesterday morning, finally, what a kerfuffle it was. A gentle TaiChi session in the afternoon and off for a cuppa. Mr C is very smug as he stands through TaiChi while I sit for most of it. I’m very proud of him for recovering so well.

We’re off out today, just locally as the motorway is bound to be more than busy. Mr C’s request, as usual he can’t decide what he’d like to do but I’m sure lunch will be in there. I view it as a mystery trip.

You’ve reminded me ash there are some delicious scones in our freezer, part of a birthday gift sent earlier in the year. Cream will definitely come back with us today. Sounds a happy evening ahead grandmattie, I’m sure your meal will be delicious. Hosta envy here urms , any I try turn into colanders overnight. Enjoy the wedding glamma. Hope there’s a well deserved rest later grandmab

Best get a wriggle on. Enjoy what you can of the day everyone.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent DD2 is off to the Chelsea Flower Show so we have DGS5 for a good part of the day. He will keep himself amused on his phone I am sure but we will go round the corner for a sandwich lunch and catch up on hos football and cricket adventures
Time for DH’s eye drops so best wishes to all

All this talk of scones with jam and cream is making me hungry! My neighbour makes delicious scones with double cream, lemonade and self raising flour - does anyone else use this technique? I must try it.

Nothing planned for today so must decide which pots I need to shop for on Monday rather than just buying anything that takes my fancy - though it may be a case of just getting what’s left. Some summer colour will be more than welcome.

Good morning from the Algarve where temperatures expected to be 28 degrees today. DD2 and GC aged 10 & 5 have safely arrived much to our delight. Today is going to be by the pool trying out the new inflatables and lots of splashing.
Hope everyone has a great day and hopefully some warm sunshine

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where at least it's not raining so the buckets haven't filled.

It's gala day in the town so the streets will be closed for the ride out. A fair in the park pond later
I am making a quantity of soup to feed the masses. I've already made a cake.

A new roofer came yesterday and has identified other places where the water is coming in. He found honey bees in the chimney too.

Lots of exciting doings for GNetters today! Have fun everyone.

Good morning from a dry, fine Durham. Virgin easily sorted yesterday - the forms I’d signed 5 weeks ago were still there, unscanned and unsent!!
I must have been lying ‘funny’ in bed and feel as if I’ve been lying on bricks, so it’s TIB first.
DD1’s wedding anniversary today - this one is a keeper, her first wasn’t!
Domesticity calls - laundry and floor washing followed by a bit of gardening.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from DD2’s in Derbyshire. It’s bright but not quite sunny.
We are off holiday clothes shopping this morning then will call in to see DD1. They’ll be some cup final watching later.
My hosta looks like yours urms. I grow it in a pot to avoid it being eaten. On the flower show last night they had some lovely varieties and recommended a garlic was each week to keep the slugs at bay.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but showers forecast this afternoon.

A busy day yesterday, did some washing and hung it out before going to my two dance classes. Had coffee with a fellow dancer afterwards,.Then investigated the new hairdresser in the village. I have a consultation appointment next Wednesday to discuss what I want doing. A quick lunch at home, then a couple of hours at a neighbour's talking about this and that for a couple of hours.

Have at last finished 'The God of Small Things '; I have to say that I absolutely hated it, never have I disliked a book more.

Out to the ballet this afternoon,.the Birmingham Royal Ballet is at our local theatre, doing a 'Carlos Acosta Selection'. Looking forward to that.

My 16 year old great niece has just been offered a place at the Central School of Ballet in London, and will board.from September. She is absolutely over the moon. It's been her dream forever.

May the sun shine on us all today.

Gingster Sat 25-May-24 09:03:48

Good morning all and it’s bright and sunny here in Essex.

We have little DGD here as her mum is back in hospital. She had a scan yesterday and awaits the results. I just hope they can get to the bottom of all these ailments. 🙏.

Dg will get picked up for dancing at midday so a bit of normality for her . I’ll await to hear from Dd .

I have a busy week planned ahead and as it’s half term, I think I’ll be cancelling a lot of them.

Have a lovely day. 🌸

Good morning from a wet and windy north Norfolk where the forecast for the rest of the weekend is just that. But our hotel is warm and peaceful and we can laze around as much as we like.

Eating out tonight at a restaurant run by a well known chef so that will be lovely and then the sea to watch from our bedroom window….lots of activity yesterday evening with a large group of youngsters swimming and paddle boarding. DH said it was a display just put on for our delight!

I’m no gardener but our hosts remains intact and hole free thanks to a tip given to us by the mother of an old friend. We smear the rim and underneath it of the pot so that slugs can’t climb up it. It works and is so easy to do. I can’t post a photo as we are away but will try to remember when we get home.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast 🌞.
Pianist friend coming over from fifty miles away, inland, to have a ramble in our extensive sand dunes at the bottom of the road. Glad the weather has changed. I will give him a light lunch and I have booked an Italian restaurant for tonight.

Hope you enjoy your day with your DS grandMattie I love the ballet BlueSapphire and thoughts to all with worries 🌺

Susan56 Sat 25-May-24 09:15:54

Gingster I really hope your daughter gets some answers🙏🏻

Urmstongran Sat 25-May-24 09:29:57

Another household here that likes a 2nd breakfast sitting GrandmaBatty! Himself has just come back from his morning walk in the sunshine and I’m making Burford Brown boiled eggs and crumpets. I always think of EllanVannin when I do. 👋 to you EV if you are reading. 😊

Urmstongran Sat 25-May-24 09:31:16

Best wishes too from me Gingster for your daughter’s scan result. You must all be so anxious.

RosiesMaw Sat 25-May-24 09:36:43

Good morning from sunny N Bucks, it’s dry and I just hope it has warmed up a bit after the last 2 days.
As usual the TIB I made around 7 got cold as I nodded off again so I’m trying second time round.
Rosie has taken to barking to be let out. ✔️Good dog, but less good when it is just because she has seen a squirrel on the fence and feels like seeing it off. I suppose it keeps me fit .
Maybe see you at TG ballet this afternoon *BlueSapphire?
Look out for me!
Wishing you all a good weekend.

Good morning from bright and dry South Lanarkshire.

Coming home from Edinburgh yesterday had some hairy moments due to the monsoon like rain reducing visibility to a few yards at times.

The poor gardens have taken quite a battering.

Stupidly I’m having to food shop today as I’ve put it off all week, there will be the usual madness I expect.

Have the best day possible everyone.

monk08 Sat 25-May-24 09:53:34

Ginster I hope your daughter gets some answers soon🙏.
Urms another one here who thinks of EV when eating crumpets.

Marydoll Sat 25-May-24 10:09:28

Gingster, Praying for some positive news for your D.D.

Blossoming Sat 25-May-24 10:22:30

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 15°C.

Yesterday I did a little housework, the had a lovely walk down a different woodland path. It’s lovely to see everything flowering after what seemed like a long grey winter. Today is the start of 3 days of steam trains so will probably do a bit of trainspotting.

Ginster flowers

Happy Saturday , whatever you’re doing 🌹

Jaxjacky Sat 25-May-24 10:26:25

Thoughts with you Gingster and 🤞 for some news, preferably positive.
Love your trains Blossoming.

Grandmabatty Sat 25-May-24 10:58:37

Urmston* second breakfast was a croissant and a cup of milk for the boys, tea for me. First snack was a packet of crisps. Second snack was a pancake with jam for me and dgs2, half a melon for dgs1. It'll be hotdogs on rolls for lunch if they're still here! Gingster I hope that your dd gets to the bottom of it all.
