Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 15°C.

It’s quite windy and I can see clouds heading our way, so I may be trainspotting from my comfy chair today. I have a washer load of laundry to do and it looks like the dehumidifier will be in action again.

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast. Nice weekend with old friend. As a botanist (as well as a pianist) he really enjoyed our overgrown sand dune ramble and was able to name many plants I don’t know. The yellow irises in the wet slacks looked beautiful. He didn’t have wellingtons so we didn’t cut through my usual now wet way through the undergrowth on to the beach.
A good Italian meal in the evening and a day in town yesterday at characterful second hand book shop.

Good morning from a wet Sefton although I can see a bit of blue struggling through the grey clouds. I am hopeful it will dry out long enough for me to pot up the plants I bought over a week ago which are still awaiting a permanent home. A nice early dinner at a local restaurant with DS1 & DGD1 yesterday & lunch today with DS2 & family - a slow cooked leg of lamb, my favourite. It's lovely to see them all so regularly. I'm so glad we made the move back to Liverpool.

Concert yesterday afternoon was enjoyable but the violin soloist broke a string so there was an unscheduled break in the performance. GD loved the concert but we found it a little difficult to hear the harpsichord over the strings.
Quiet day for me, maybe a little fresh air and then read my novel.
Thoughts are with those who are poorly.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very showery Carlisle.
I arrived back from my very enjoyable cruise around Iceland on Friday evening, taxi driver grumbly about rain. The day before it had actually caused the closure of the railway line from Glasgow so I was glad to get home without incident. I'm not glad to get home to resume cooking and cleaning though!

On Saturday I managed to flatten the car battery having left the side lights on after an early trip to Sainsbury's. I didn't notice till I pulled the blinds down in the evening and saw them reflected in the windows opposite. All sorted on Sunday by the RAC who discovered the battery was on the way out so a new one was necessary.
I got the lawn mowed whilst waiting for him, fortunately, because it showered all afternoon, in tropical downpours on occasion.
Today looks like a non-gardening day but I'm tempted to visit the garden centre for some bedding plants.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but showers are forecast this afternoon, which seems to be the pattern for the rest of the week. Had to get up in the night to put socks on, as my feet were so cold!

Nothing planned for today, another day at home on my own; will read the newspaper (which hasn't yet arrived), reading, but am reluctant to start a new book as I can't remember what our next book club one is, and I have lost the list! Will find out at our next meeting on Wednesday.
Spicy chicken and rice stir-fry tonight for dinner.

I'm going to the boat with DH this morning to give it a clean before we hopefully have some time away on it.
DH is waiting for an operation on his leg so we have to wait for that to happen, hoping for news this week.

Morning from S Hants, the sun is patchy with cloud, dry yesterday apart from a late short shower. We had a lovely bbq with the family, then watched football, the local team won. Grandchildren are on Whitsun break now, a GCSE respite, they’re out today collecting sea glass.
Ashcombe that is concerning, hopefully another opinion is more optimistic.

Plant buying today and getting the summer pots sorted though the uncertain weather may intervene. I am late with such jobs, not sure why, but today is the day. Sorry Marydoll still feels so rough and hope today is a little better…

Good morning all and it’s bright at the moment.
Yesterdays plans changed when ds1 phoned to say they were going to ds2’s for lunch but the girls were poorly so staying at home. He asked if DGD and me would like to go instead. We hopped in the car with them and had such a lovely day. Little DGD played with her cousins and trampolined most of the time. Delicious lunch cooked by DIL and a good journey there and back.

Dd still in hospital but maybe home today. Still being monitored.
Little DGD has a party (Ninja Warriors) 😳. She’s only tiny but boy can she take on anyone! 😚😅.

I’ve got my chimes group this morning and we’ll see how the rest of the day pans out.

Worrying news for your Dd Ash hope a second opinion is favourable.🙏.
Oops that poor mother and baby. I hope that Consultant gets his comeuppance.

Good morning everyone from a damp south Manchester where it has rained overnight (the best time!). We are off to Christie’s today as Himself has a blood test every Monday then, all being well, his iv chemo on a Tuesday.

Our life is different to what it was. We have to accommodate this godawful diagnosis. Sometimes the pressure and sadness of what we face overwhelms us. At other times it’s ’business as almost usual’. Whatever. We are so grateful for treatment.

Enjoy your BH folks. Life is sweet.

It’s sunny here in Co Durham but rain expected before lunch. The thunderstorms and torrential rain yesterday were epic. A lot of flooding in the area.
Feeling more human after two days of sickness, I was in bed for 36 hours.
Will have to go back and read all of your doings since last Wednesday.
Hope those with worries get relief and those with illnesses feel better soon.

Good morning from a sunny north Norfolk after yesterday’s rain and thunderstorms. There were a few sunny outbursts and we managed a gentle stroll along the prom and pier. At one point we,like many others,took shelter in the huge EACH charity shop where we bought books of course.

EACH( East Anglia Children’s Hospice) gives a free book to all child visitors during every school holiday apparently. Such a good idea especially in big shops like the one we visited which has a huge selection.

We shall be on our way home after a leisurely breakfast which for me will include a mango and pear smoothie. We’ll probably take the coast road home which hopefully won’t be too busy.

Hope today is a good one for all especially for those with worries or ill health.

Good morning from a dry South Downs, where rain is forecast until 11 am and then sun. So will spend the morning fiddling in the house, then outside when the sun appears.

Son phoned for his usual weekly chat and was on the phone for about an hour talking about this and that. I have been mulling on how different the siblings are. Our son will chat for ever, putting the world to rights (yesterday it was about George Mombiot and neo-liberalism😄) and our daughter only contacts us if she has something to say of any importance unless we are in difficulties when she contacts/visits daily until we are ok then back to her normal self. Amazing how different ones children are.

ash I’m do hope something must be able to be done for your daughter. Cataracts are such an everyday procedure.

Our meal last night was disappointing, I think that’s the first time I’ve been served roast potatoes which were obviously cheap frozen ones. Not good.

Charity shop shift today, the last Bank holiday was really busy with visitors, I suspect the weather will deter people today though.

OH will visit his bees and check his Queens, he will then leave them for a few days. I will do a Waitrose shop. If it stays dry we will visit our local NT property. There is a Burne Jones mural which we love. We might have a cream tea! £5 each for two delicious scones, jam, cream and a pot of tea. I have English Breakfast and he has Earl Grey.

We had a lovely day here yesterday one short shower and the rest of the day sunshine. The GC spent hours swimming, splashing and eating.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and cloudy. Marydoll a day in bed might help. Ash I'm sorry to hear about your dds eyesight. I didn't know that cataracts couldn't be operated upon. Bellasnana dgs2 does not like getting clothes on either.
Yesterday was a quietly busy day. I made lemon drizzle cake and gave some to my neighbour who lives my cake and jam. In the afternoon I visited mum. I took her a piece of cake and she practically inhaled it! She wasn't very chatty and quite grumpy then was sad when I left after half an hour of silence!
Today I had a long lie. Dd has the bank holiday, although it isn't one in our area. So no early start for me. I'll do an ironing and try and apply for my state pension online. I will go and sit in while dgs2 naps this afternoon. Dd and Dsil go to a dgs1's school for a welcome to parents meeting. The nursery and school have done lots this term to make school familiar and welcoming. It is mince round for dinner, tonight and tomorrow, with mashed potatoes and green beans. Have a good day all

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire, the dog spent 3 hours cowering under MrOops desk due to the thunder yesterday, ( behind MrOops legs, he had to stay with her) let’s hope we don’t get more today.

Nothing planned today, I spent a few hours cooking for the freezer yesterday, so I’ll cut and pack the food this morning ready to freeze.

Worrying news from MzOops, the mother and baby have been in and out of hospital every day, seemingly because the Mother ignored the Consultants demand that she go into hospital after the birth of the baby, mother and child were doing well, duallas and Midwives visiting each day, consultant has demanded that the baby go in for tests or he would obtain a Court Order to take the child into care. So a 2 day old baby and a mother who should be resting have had to drive to the hospital in Holiday traffic and sit for 3 hours each day waiting to get unwarranted tests done. All the tests ( the same ones each time) have been clear.
MzOops has now become involved and will be making her thoughts known to the Hospital Management. The irony is that the Midwife said that she really was better off at home rather than take the baby into hospital after the Birth.
High handed Consultant who didn’t like being told No.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a calm and relaxing BH Monday or Whitsun as we used to call it, why did that change?

Thanks for your lovely comment yesterday dear Urms. My friend and I met in 1978 when we were working as Nannies in London. She had known the nanny before me and recognised the little boy in my charge so approached us in the park. Here we are still friends after all these years and many miles between us. She’s on her own after an abusive marriage to a compulsive gambler so we support one another and she visits each year.

Had good news of DGD in Florida, she’s quite a star player of softball and she and her team did very well in their tournaments over the weekend. How they play in that heat with all the gear they wear I just don’t know!

I’m about to get the boys dressed, it’s always a chase around to catch them as they don’t like being pinned down!
Another jolly week begins!

Sorry about your DD Ash, do hope she will find a second opinion who can offer some hope.
