Good Morning Everyone,
A bright but cloudy start here in brackley but dry at the moment.
Today is interesting for me, going on a coach trip to Rutland Water , which includes a Fish & Chip lunch on the boat cruise , this I have been told with a return via Leicester whether its motorway services or the city itself?
Whatever will be a reasonable day out .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Wednesday 29th May 2024
(50 Posts)Good morning from a sunny Bristol. Nice to see the sun!
Enjoy your day out, Mick.
I was incredibly busy yesterday- although my flat is pretty clean, I did I fairly thoroughly. The reason? A university friend from Oz is coming to lunch. I met her in the 60’s when at uni there - long story. The last time she came to me, she was very critical of everything British, me and family included. I may not be up to standard, but by Jove, my food and house will be, if I can possibly help it.
I went to Tesco for lunch stuff, her diet is very restrictive, then made a cooked cheesecake for pudding. I was pooped by the end and went to bed early.
Today, finish the couscous salad, make mayonnaise, prepare table etc. DS will bring her as her hotel is near DD’s. Hope all will go well. I’m not very good with wall to wall criticism but never know how to answer back; not brave enough to repay bad for bad, I suppose.
I hope your day goes well and MD improves fast enough tostarther new medication. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
GM, You probably make her feel inferior!
But enjoy her visit.
And enjoy your day out Mike and the fish and chips.
Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dry and bright north Wales coast, let’s hope it stays that way…🤞. I’ve been to Rutland Water when we visited Oakham many 🌓 ago, decades actually!
Mango chutney making on the go at PGTowers today (I only buy them when they’re on offer here) as I’m down to last jar and we do eat rather a lot of curry here! It needs to remain unopened for a month ideally - hmmm🤔 we’ll see how that goes!
Glad your beloved’s home Gingster, such a worry no matter whatever age aren’t they?💐 for all with health worries x
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I hope all goes well GM with your old friend. I’m not sure I would have invited her!
It is our 48th wedding anniversary today. Where has the time gone? We have booked lunch at our favourite restaurant for celebrations.
I finished my last 7-day blood pressure reading last night. There is a new system for sending it to the Health Centre, so I’ll hopefully figure that out this morning.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning all from the Black country dry start here with a touch of blue sky peeking through.
Early start here at the abbey DH fishing again, don't know my plans will see what weather does.
Yesterday with the boys very enjoyable they chose to go to the pictures so Garfield was the choice, they are off for a few days to Wales today so our services will not be required for the rest of half term.
Mick enjoy your day out, GM hope lunch with your friend goes well and not to much tongue biting is needed.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning from a calm start with the day still making up its mind regarding the weather.
Your day out sounds interesting, Mick with some appealing aspects; we know you like fish and chips! Have fun!
I think you’re very noble to have this person as a guest in your home, grandMattie! Let's hope she has mellowed as she’s grown older.
I have a dental check up this morning then a brief visit to Lidl. Later I’ll be at Wednesday Club then my lovely neighbour is visiting. Her daughter was married at the weekend so I’m looking forward to hearing about it.
Happy hump day! And happy anniversary to Mr and Mrs. Ladyleftfieldlover! 🥂💕🍾
🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Happy Anniversary to you both Llfl 🥂🎉
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C and cloudy.
GM, I hope your day goes better than anticipated.
I have reached the stage where I need some medical intervention, so I am girding my loins to do battle when the surgery opens at 8am.
DH got up at 5am 😍to make me a cuppa, that usually helps the coughing, but it has been relentless.
Gingster, I hope your daughter begins to feel a bit better and enjoy your trip Mick. It's a great way to see different places.
DH and I were planning a few days away, yet another cancelled treat. 😞 I know he is being sensible, but I was so looking forward to it.
I wish you all a pleasant day and thinking of my fellow patients in the sick bay and the loved ones, who care for them.. 💐
Happy anniversary, llfl. My friend invited herself - I’m too polite to refuse 🤨
Good morning all from a hot, sunny Malta.
Sounds like a lovely day out Mick, somewhere I’ve never been. Hope you enjoy it.
GM ‘you’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din’! I’d give someone so critical a wide berth never mind offer hospitality.
Wishing you both a very happy anniversary Llfl. 48 years is a real achievement.💐
I’m with the boys. one still asleep, other one ready for his porridge which I’ve just made.
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
Happy anniversary to Llfl, enjoy your lunch.
Good morning from s somerset, cool and damp again
I have two sisters in oz, they are deeply envious of our uk history, our gorgeous greenery, our temperatures, our community, very friendly people and our food prices. Some never acknowledge that and revert to criticism. Good luck today GM
My bean plants are disappearing, one by one, snails are the culprits. Farmers are having a terrible time, dd says that many cannot get onto the fields to work on their crops, not boding well this summer
I have taken my primary kefir grains out of the freezer, where they have slumbered for a long time, covered in milk powder. I am waking them up and going to get back into making my own again. Bought goats kefir is costing an arm and a leg and is not as nice as my home grown. I got rid of my last grains, the frozen grains were put in the freezer as a standy-by
Have a good day
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dry and brightening South Yorkshire. Yesterday was very wet until early evening. Enjoy Rutland Water, Mick. Only been once but the size of it impressed me. Getting into the city centre yesterday was a public transport nightmare and involved a fairly long walk which I hadn’t factored in. However, a couple of hours in the art gallery was very interesting. I’ve not been for a long time.
Ironing this morning (well, it had to happen sometime!) and writers group this afternoon will fill my day.
Happy Anniversary, LLFL. Enjoy your lunch!🥂💐
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton; supposed to be.fine this morning with showers this afternoon.
An early bus trip this morning down to the village for a consultation with a new.hairdresser; we will discuss what I want doing regarding colour and style, and hopefully make an appointment. I.will pop into the village bakery afterwards for a coffee.
Book club after lunch, hopefully getting a lift from a fellow reader, if not the bus is very convenient.
Easy dinner tonight of fish and chips.
Happy anniversary LLFL.
.
Good morning everyone, a sunny start here in south Glos.
I did some dead heading yesterday in the rain, everything is growing so well and it’s lovely being outside.
I sorted out some embroidery materials and took them into the summerhouse where I can leave them out instead of packing them away every time I do some indoors.
I also worked out I can ‘tether’ my mini iPad to my phone to get the internet there, so that’s good!
Dog walk and a trip to the post office sometime today, otherwise nothing planned.
Enjoy your day out Mick.
I hope that the poorly ones feel better soon and that the day goes well for you all 🌹
Good morning from a bright and sunny Oxfordshire, although after a wet night it’s very soggy underfoot.
I spent most of the day yesterday sorting and cleaning the conservatory, let’s see how long it stays that way, no dog today so that gives it a fighting chance!
Off to the Garden Centre later if it stays fine.
LLFL Happy Anniversary have a lovely lunch.
Mick my parents loved their coach trips at home and abroad, have a good day.
MD I hope you start to feel better soon.
GM hope your day goes well, if it doesn’t then hopefully you won’t see your ‘friend’ again.
Have a good day everyone, hope the sun shines today and we get some warmth with it. Hugs for those who are unwell or stressed.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and overcast start to the day
Enjoy your day out mick it sounds good
If it doesn’t rain I’m hoping to continue pottering in the garden today, there’s always lots to do and I’m happy out there
A very Happy Anniversary llfl enjoy your lunch out together 💐🥂❤️
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and dry. Not much sun showing though. GrandMattie with people like your friend, I always say well at least they give you something to talk about! You are very kind to have her, even if she invited herself. Mick enjoy your trip-and the fish and chips. Marydoll good luck with the doctor's appointment.
Yesterday was a good day. As expected, dgs2 wanted to play in the garden, then we walked to see the men digging up the phone lines. Dgs1 did a sponsored walk with his nursery to the local park so he was tired afterwards. I had a quiet night, watched The Sewing Bee and slept fairly well.
Today I have an early haircut. I have an admin day ahead. Some phone calls and emails but nothing else planned. Have a good day all.
Ladyleftfieldlover happy anniversary to you both.
Good morning from Shropshire.Dry at the moment but rain forecast later.
My mum wasn’t on great form yesterday. She phoned later and was absolutely fine so not sure what was going on🤯
I need to pack for our holiday and also start preparing for DH’s 70th on Friday.Family arriving tomorrow so it’s going to be a hectic few days.
I hope you manage to speak to a GP Mary.
Enjoy your trip Mick and I hope your guest has mellowed with age grandMattie.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning from Colchester. A high of 20° and a mixture of sunshine and showers.
Missing Wednesday coffee meetup as we've another family day at DD1's. My sis is bringing our Mum over to see her great grandchildren.
Happy anniversary Llfl 🥂 and love to all 🦩 x
Have been awake every hour so feeling fragile but I have an empty it won’t matter too much if I can’t stay awake. Cool with a stiff breeze, sunshine at present but lots of cloud bubbling up so likely to be an indoor day. Hope Marydoll gets to speak to a doctor this morning, congratulations to LLFL and wishing everyone has a good enough day.
Good morning all from a stormy looking North Leicestershire.
I am helping on a Carer's course (week 3 of 5) in Leicester and every flipping road between here and there has road works so I need to set off really early.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Morning all, I am taking the 9yr old and The Imp to the cinema today (soft play, McDonald’s and making individual quiche’s including the pastry went well yesterday)
Our beautiful GD is seven today 🩷🎂, they are on their way back home from Lanzarote, hopefully see them tonight. It’s also her parents wedding anniversary (DS4)
Happy Anniversary ladyleftfieldlovet
MaryDoll hope you get some help from your GP, rest and take care 😘
Enjoy your trip Michael12 and the fish & chips.
