Good Morning Everyone,
A bright but cloudy start here in brackley but dry at the moment.
Today is interesting for me, going on a coach trip to Rutland Water , which includes a Fish & Chip lunch on the boat cruise , this I have been told with a return via Leicester whether its motorway services or the city itself?
Whatever will be a reasonable day out .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a brightish Suffolk but, given the puddles on the drive, there must have been heavy rain overnight.

I have my keep fit class this morning and then an extra meeting this afternoon. I volunteered to help out as several people are away for half term. Given the forecast for a day of further rain, anything outside would be unlikely anyway.

Just hoping tomorrow is a better day weather wise. Thinking of those with bigger worries than the state of the weather.

Morning from a brightening S Hants. You’re very magnanimous gMattie I’m don’t think I would be.
Happy Anniversary llfl 🥂
Blood test today, a check on the thinners, parcel to send back and a little weeding after a damage check, slugs and snails are on the rampage this year karmalady, they really are annoying.

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Our day out yesterday to Tenterden was a real trip down memory lane and we enjoyed lunch at somewhere we used to go long ago. Today we shall be joining Mick for fish and chips. Have a good trip Mick.
Llfl Happy Anniversary

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s bright but showers are forecast.
Off to Knaresbrough today with a friend. Hopefully we will have a good walk and find somewhere for a nice lunch.
Happy anniversary llfl.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I haven't inspected the water buckets in the sitting room but it was raining most of the night.
Roof repairs can't begin until it's dry.
😒

I can well remember 1976 when we had a very wet May but it was followed by the hottest summer ever.

That's my weather report!
Yarn group this morning and escape pain class this afternoon.

I have had mixed reports from Antipodean visitors gMattie. I wish people would learn that praise is much more acceptable than criticism. We can do the criticism quite well by ourselves but behind that is a patriotic loyalty. Rather like someone daring to criticise our DC. God forbid!
Enjoy your lunch and Mick enjoy the coach trip.

Marydoll I hope your cough goes soon. Mine has got better since avoiding dairy but it's probably a different cough.

Have a lovely day everyone however you spend it.

Grammaretto Wed 29-May-24 08:13:24

Happy anniversary LLFL Congratulations! enjoy your special day 🍾 🥂

Good morning, it’s still damp here in South Lanarkshire.

Ironing, crochet, and general faffing are on the cards today. I have things on for the next few days so will just enjoy footering around.

Enjoy your trip Mick.

Happy anniversary to you both llfl.

Deep breaths gM, this too shall pass.

Hope you manage to see your GP Marydoll.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all and I hope the rain keeps away as Dh is going fishing.

I’m off for a charity lunch organised by an ‘Inner Wheel’ friend. She’s 92 and does much of the cooking herself. An amazing lady who has just received the MBE for charity work.
She’ll be waiting on us and I always say ‘E , we should be waiting on you’ ☺️. I’ll be picked up by another friend as Dh has our only car.

I hope your lunch goes well GM . Don’t feel intimidated by your ‘friend’. She’s obviously jealous on all counts. I think I would have been tempted to take her out for lunch and back to yours for a coffee, showing her your lovely new home.

We’re hoping to go to our seaside cottage tomorrow- DD’s health permitting. We need to get up there to pick up our situpon mower and old MG , both of which have been repaired and serviced. Goodness know what the garden will look like.

I’m not sure how long we’re staying Liberty so probably won’t be able to meet up this time. Hopefully next time we’re there.🤞.

Happy anniversary Llf. Enjoy your day together 🥂🍾.
I’m glad you’re able to sit in your summerhouse Rose . No more leaks I hope 🤞.
Have a good trip Mick
Marydoll I hope you get an appointment 🙏.

Take care all 🌸🌸

Good morning from the Algarve. Another day relaxing and enjoying the gorgeous weather. It will be beach this morning and probably around the pool this afternoon dipping in and out to keep cool. Just watching the golfers out from the balcony.

Have a good day everyone. Rutland Water is lovely Mick you will have a good day I am sure. It is fairly close to us so we quite regularly cycle there and Grafham Water. Hope those with health issues feel easier today and get the help needed. 💐 Enjoying reading all the posts take care all 😊

GrannyIvy Wed 29-May-24 08:39:46

Good morning from a cloudy Essex coast.
I've managed to get a doctor's appointment for 10, this cough will not go away and I have a dental appointment at 12.45. Exciting day ahead !!!
Ironing to do later and some admin.
Have a great day everyone and let us hope the sun starts to shine soon xx

Sar53 Wed 29-May-24 08:42:24

A very Happy Anniversary to Llf and her DH, have a lovely day.

Bonnybanko Wed 29-May-24 08:47:31

Good morning all from a dry and hopefully sunny day here on the east coast of Fife. The weather these days can’t make up its mind, I’m hoping the rain stays off as the Leven Rail Link wait is long overdue.

The First Minister will open the £116m Leven rail today and it’s going to be an exciting time, well done to the SNP for getting this completed it’s going to benefit Fife immensely, I only wish I could be there to see this magnificent event, the town will be buzzing 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Have a good day my English friends I think you’ll need your umbrellas today

EkwaNimitee Wed 29-May-24 08:51:42

Good morning Mick and everyone from a Carlisle of sun and cloud.
It rained on and off yesterday until after lunch so I just got on with the housework and admin. I finally managed to get out mid-afternoon to plant up the large containers at the front.

Today I'm into town, the pretty mantel clock DH and I bought a whole quarter of a century ago has ceased functioning. I suspect it needs a new quartz movement so it's off to the shop we bought it from to see if it can be replaced. I might waft through M&S on the way back to the car....I might treat myself to an expensive coffee...
The afternoon will probably be spent photo editing and, hopefully, gardening.

Happy anniversary to you both Llfl.
Hope the docs can do something for you Marydoll and good luck with that friend grandMattie.

Good morning Mick and all from a dull 13°C northwest coast.
Went along to music club yesterday, but didn’t sing, jaw sore for some unknown reason and felt under the weather. Nice FaceTime with Dsister in the south. My BIL has just come out of hospital after major heart surgery, so she is on nursing duty.
She is looking at a cat to home today, so that will cheer her up.

I’m not sure whether to go to the weekly lunchtime recital, as although my jaw feels a lot better, I’m still under the weather.
Watched “Anatomy of a Fall” last night, but didn’t enjoy it.

Congratulations Llfl, enjoy your trip Mick, your friend sounds like hard work GM and thoughts to all with worries 🌺

Beechnut Wed 29-May-24 09:02:51

Good morning all. It’s a lovely sunny morning on Severnside.

Happy wedding anniversary Mr&Mrsllfl 🥂

I think I’ll take myself out into the garden for a few jobs and also into the shed to work on repairing a bench.

Good wishes everyone 🌞🪻

Grandmachrisy47 Wed 29-May-24 09:17:38

Happy Anniversary to the Llfl's, it was our 53rd yesterday.
Enjoy your trip Machael. glad you got an appointment Marydoll, hope you get sorted.
Gearing up for the arrival of the granddogs. Dd2 and dsil off early tomorrow for four days of sun shine. Dgd splitting her time between us and other grandparents.
im still not fully over whatever struck me down last week, but getting there.
Have a good day everyone. Thoughts with those with troubles.

Blossoming Wed 29-May-24 09:54:39

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 13°C.

It drizzled on and off yesterday. I decided to go for a walk regardless. It was mild, the breeze was chill but not very strong and I enjoyed the feel of it in my face. I spent a pleasant half hour watching a boat coming into the lock on the tide, then lifted into the boat yard by the big crane.

Today’s highlight will be a trip to Morrisons to collect my prescriptions and a wander around the shop. I do love to get out and about and I am thankful that I’m able to.

Hope your trip to the surgery is fruitful Marydoll.

Happy anniversary LadyLFL

Have a good day, whatever you’re doing🌻

Litterpicker Wed 29-May-24 09:55:28

Good morning from currently sunny East Lothian. Maybe I will get a bit more weeding done at DD’s. DH did some painting at our flat yesterday and I fell asleep on the sofa after reading the first few chapters of my book. We caught up on several tv series in the evening.

The sparrows are having a bath in one of the fairly deep puddles in the parking bay at the front of the flat. Yesterday when I was looking out of the bedroom window at the back, a starling flew in under the eave and was obviously doing a bit of nest cleaning as several lumps of ‘something’ flew out and landed on the paving below.

I hope Mick has a good day. And Grandmattie and ‘friend’!

Happy Anniversary to Mr & Mrs Llfl and congratulations to GrandmaChrisy & her DH for yesterday.

I do hope you get some immediate medical attention Marydoll.

Thinking of others with health problems, family problems and grieving.

Marydoll Wed 29-May-24 10:16:26

Succes! No.41 in the queue at 8am! However, got the receptionist I know well and my OWN GP has phoned me.
Broke open my rescue pack of antibiotics, but no new biologic treatment for now, until Ì am clear 😒 and Covid booster needs to be postponed.
Thank you all for your support. Means a lot, when one is feeling low. X

Scapa1 Wed 29-May-24 10:24:56

Good you managed to speak to a doctor Marydoll hope the antibiotics work quickly.

grandMattie Wed 29-May-24 10:27:05

Just read your post, MD, so pleased for you! Trust that the antibiotics will do th3 trick. 🫂

Grandmabatty Wed 29-May-24 10:46:53

Better news Marydoll. I've been to the hairdresser and, as always, he popped a free bottle of volumniser spray in my bag. I must be the only customer who gets a tip from their hairdresser 😂

Marydoll Wed 29-May-24 10:50:44

Mine used to give me boxes of magazine, GMB., which I shared with my family and neighbours.

brook2704 Wed 29-May-24 12:41:36

Good news Marydoll hopefully you’ll be feeling a bit better soon
What a lovely kind hairdresser you have grandmabatty
