Good morning from a cloudy dry South Downs. Feels cooler than of late.
Went to collect our new specs yesterday. This is the first time that I have worn specs. They are for reading only. I can see the taking off,,putting them on bit is a pain though. Having them halfway down my nose helps I think. What I will wear are the new sunglasses, as we both have cataracts - apparently caused by the sun. Sunglasses can slow their progress.
Hairdresser this afternoon. I might garden this morning, but it depends how windy it is - I don’t like wind.
Enjoy your day all

Good Morning Friday 31st May 2024
(50 Posts)Good morning everyone from a cloudy North Leicestershire.
I have a trip to the butcher's and Waitrose on the cards this morning and this afternoon DS2 is coming for a catch up - a rare treat. We have almost had child 'bingo' this week - just DD1 of the 5 of them has been away.
Have best day possible everyone.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with some light grey clouds
Happy 70th Birthday to your DH Susan hope you all have a lovely family get together 🥂🎉
I’m looking forward to meeting up with my pal later today for a coffee and a good catch up, she’s recently joined a new gym since ours closed so looking forward to hearing all about it and I’ll see if I’m interested too.
That’s good for MzOops Oops I hope she is happy in her new home
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a wet and windy Colchester. Feeling very chilly.
A dry day forecast for tomorrow so I am leaving the laundry until then.
I have some new specs to pick up so will walk to the High Street later as the weather is supposed to improve. Otherwise a lazy day here.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning from a sunny and bright Oxfordshire, chilly breeze though.
Shopping will be arriving shortly, MrOops is out this morning and I have ironing to do, hopefully a visit to the Garden Centre this afternoon as we still haven’t managed to get there.
MzOops exchanged and completed on her house yesterday, but wasn’t able to get into it until late last night, so she will be moving stuff in today, hope it’s dry down there for her.
Hope everyone who is unwell starts to feel a bit better today, safe journeys for those on the move. Let’s hope we all get the sunshine today.
Susan, have a lovely family celebration! 🥰
Morning from a sunny S Hants, yesterday was ENT where I had my nose cauterised, not for the first time. A couple of long phone calls with friends and another friend visited. Today is grocery delivery, get the washing out and prep dinner.
Enjoy all your out and abouts today.
🦩🦩
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 10 °C.
We are forecast some sunny weather, but I have to stay out of the sun, due to my medication. It's not blooming fair! 😉
The antibiotics are making me feel awful, so I won't be doing much today. DH is golfing, but we need some essentials, so I shall see if the nausea settles down, then pop out to Lidl, five minutes away. My usual trip to Silverburn has been postponed.
After dropping Dollie at school, DH came back with my replacement rescue pack medication, the instructions and dosage were wrong and there were only four antibiotic tablets in it.. 😡
The instructions, were different from normal, hence a phone call to the pharmacy and surgery. DH is amazed at how on the ball I am, A new prescription awaits.
I have noticed recently that, my GP, who has supported me enormously over many years, doesn't seem to be as sharp as he was. I find it unsettling.
A great day for the golf, Baubles, I'm your SIL will have a brilliant day. St Andrew's is a favourite of ours, especially DH. ⛳.
GM, 💐 and GMB, I hope you continue to improve,
Have a good day folks, especially my pal, BonnyB
Wish me luck, yet again we plan to tackle a very unhelp Virgin Media, when DH comes back from the golf.
Happy birthday to your DH*Susan*. I hope he has a lovely day.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Are we expecting a dry day Baubles? Is it sandals or wellies?
I'm going out to lunch with a group of DHs colleagues. I've not seen many of them since he died 3½ years ago. It will be strange. It's an Italian restaurant.
My volunteering job this morning.
I viewed a house for sale yesterday which will be perfect for someone but I don't like it enough to pursue it.
Those twins are growing up fast Bellasnanna
Enjoy your DGD performance Ash
I hope you feel better today GMB
Have a lovely day and some sunshine
Whatever your plans.
Good morning from Shropshire.Breezy at the moment but sun forecast all day.
Today is DH’s 70th birthday🥳it doesn’t seem long since we were celebrating his 60th!DD2 and family arrived yesterday.DD1 and family will arrive during the morning.Hoping it is warm enough to sit outside🤞🏻
Hope you both have a better day Grandmabatty and Roses and that Marydoll is on the mend too..
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning from Sefton. Another dull start to the day but with sunny intervals forecast🤞. A busy day yesterday left me feeling very tired so expected to have a nice long sleep. No chance, woke at 5(ish) again & couldn't get back to sleep. I do not want to get up at 5! A slow day today I think but first I will have to summon enough energy for my 2 zoom exercise classes this morning.
Wishing you all a good start to the weekend.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Cloudy in South Yorkshire and it seems we won’t see the sun until tea time. After all my prevaricating yesterday I did go out with the walking group but we had a cloudburst half way round and got a bit damp! Enjoyed it though. To DD’s for lunch. GS took time off from his “cramming” to join us, then he was off to the gym with a friend. I came home and lost myself in a good book. Rounded the day off with a walk in the lanes. It’s going to be a bumper year for blackberries by the luck of it.
Housework today and perhaps a little gardening.
Have the best day you can, folks!
Good morning from a gloriously sunny hillside in south Glos, clear blue skies too.
I felt progressively ‘off’ yesterday, even fell asleep in the chair in the afternoon which is something I never do. I feel a bit better this morning.
I’ve been doing all the dog walking for a month now except for the twice weekly dog water because DH has been ‘too busy’ doing the patio (it starting to irritate me how long it’s taking to be honest, it’s not big!) as well as everything else he normally does like vacuuming and other tasks.
Do any of you have a husband who if he has something that he’s doing he can’t possibly do anything else? That’s why I prefer to pay someone else to do things. Multitasking just doesn’t exist for him!
He had to do the evening walk yesterday because I went to bed very early 🙄
Anyway, today I will do a bit of gardening, dead heading the roses and tying in some climbers that are growing quickly.
I’d like to sit in the sun with a book later, make the most is the sunshine.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and sunny. Bellasnana what lovely photos of your boys. Ash safe journey and enjoy being a proud gran. Baubles the Old Course at St Andrews is iconic, isn't it? I hope he has a good round.
Yesterday I had my feet attended to then came home, fully intending to do lots of pottering. However I felt unwell and it got worse so I lay down. I slept off and on most of the day. I went back to bed after dinner and woke, thinking I had slept the night away. It was only ten o'clock in the evening!
Today I feel ok. Whatever ailed me, has passed. I should have been meeting a friend this afternoon but she's had to cancel so I have a quiet day. Probably best considering I felt awful yesterday. I shall tidy the kitchen first thing. I left everything yesterday and it needs sorted. I think I'll do all the washing. I want to change my duvet cover etc. Hopefully I'll get it all hung out. All the garden needs watered as well. Chicken curry for dinner. Have a good day all.
Good morning all from what’s going to be a great afternoon here on the east coast of Fife.
I’m meeting with Jenny Gilruth msp for education.
She’s really a lovely person and she’s helped me on numerous occasions with a variety of issues 1) brought me flowers when in hospital 2) helped me with travel insurance, 3) fought my corner with the local authority 4) supported me during bereavement
Regardless of her political affiliation she’s a lovely approachable young woman and I like her a lot.
Have a good day my friends hugs all around
Good morning from s somerset. Dry and cool today
I have bits and bobs to do today, nothing of note but all the usual satisfying stuff. I want some exercise so I will get myself out again. Freezer emptying is going very well and I may well start to pick the biggest gooseberries. I should have let my nails grow longer for topping and tailing the berries. It is a methodical process, picking, trimming, washing, drying, packing. No bottling this year but I have more freezer space
Also another top for cycling is almost finished, a waistcoat with zip and secure pockets. That will be ready by tonight
Have a good day
Good morning from a sunny Black Country.
Productive day yesterday. Weeded front drive, and cleaned down all UvPc windows and surrounds.
Taking Mum to a memory cafe this morning, where there will be music, singing and dancing. Plus cuppas and biscuits.
Then meeting up with DS and DIL for lunch.
Happy Friday everyone
Good morning from a sunny Torbay.
I’m heading North on the train today to visit my family and watch my DGD perform in her dance school show. I hope to catch up with a good friend from when I lived in Staffs., too.
Happy weekend! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Good morning from a beautiful day in Malta. We expect a high of 28°C.
I took the boys for a long walk yesterday which they loved but think it was a bit ambitious as I was aching all over by the evening!
They are both still asleep at the moment.
Had good news from DGD in Florida, she won an award for outstanding academic achievement, I don’t know where she finds time to study with her busy softball schedule. She has finished school for summer and will start high school in August. Where do the years go?
A sad day for you GM, unfortunately the older we get, the more funerals we have to attend.
Wishing you all a good day☀️
Good morning everyone from Belfast
The sun is out looks a lovely morning emphasis on morning!!!!
Have had a cold for a few days now after visiting London in pouring rain.
Same day as Rishi got soaked!!!!
Going to buy more plants for my hanging baskets.
Maybe DH will buy me a coffee!!!!
Have a lovely day everyone.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed. I don’t get up until after 8 am.
OH will be out for most of the day with a group of friends shooting targets.
I’ll take the opportunity to have a sort out of my books. There is ironing too and I may do some baking.’
Have a good day.
Good morning Mick, morning all from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.
Edinburgh childminding day for us. Yesterday we did the school run then the children’s evening meal in Glasgow and stayed until DD came home from work. Their Dad, who is usually on duty is very excited to be playing the Old Course at St Andrews this morning and went up yesterday to stay overnight. I’m glad it looks like he’ll have a good day for it.
Have the best day possible everyone, all good wishes to those with illness or sadness to bear.
Good morning from Bristol. It is supposed to be sunny and dry, but there is an ominous dark cloud…. Wasn’t it chilly yesterday?
The Peace Feast went well. It is a Bristol charity aimed at getting different people to know each other; locals and a group of refugees/immigrants. Last night they were mostly from Iran, Syria, Kurdistan and Pakistan. The food was allergen-free and vegan which sadly made it a bit bland. I went with my two offspring and we sat with another vicar, but we mixed at pudding. It was terribly noisy, with a Kurd/Turk playing on various stringed instruments as well as about 60 people chatting. I enjoyed my evening nonetheless.
Today, I’ve got my neighbour’s funeral. The first, as another died recently; she’d been living here for a while, so I expect we shall attend another in the near future.
Not much else on, quiet day.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but cloudy here in brackley at the moment.
My usual routine of bus to Bicester for a couple of hours ,and then call in the Fish & Chip shop before getting back indoors .
We seem to be getting more winds from the North making it a very out of season cold chill .
Take Care,
Mick
