Good Morning Monday 3rd June 2024
(58 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
A dry but cloudy start here in brackley this morning.
Today , usual early trip into Bicester , have a coffee etc before a shop around the town.
Return for lunch , followed by a quiet afternoon.
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a clear dry Suffolk but unfortunately none of the most welcome sun of yesterday.
DD1 is 48 today but we shan’t see her as they are 200 miles away in Bristol. I always remember on her birthday that very hot summer of 1976 when the problem was keeping her cool and not too hot. Sleeping out in her pram, one of those wonderful coachbuilt Silver Cross ones lent by a friend, under a tree in the back garden wearing only a nappy and vest in the shade was the answer. How times have changed since those carefree days.
NangelaMary celebrations to you. I cannot imagine how happy you must be. Everyone healthy is the best. I have a lot of children and NO GC so I am so happy for you and hope someday I will see GC too but it might not happen in my lifetime. You are Blessed !!! Thank you for sharing with us.
Good morning from sunny Colchester.
A pile of ironing and a food shop are today's delights.
Welcome to our new posters and love to all 🦩 x
Morning all from a grey S E Essex. I have had little sleep, no idea why, but I do know I have a busy day ahead.
Beautiful painting Grandmabatty I love Aliums unfortunately mine have succumbed to pests and have died.
Safe journey Ash
Fingers crossed all goes well Urmstongran
MaryDoll wishing you better soon.
Have a good day folks 🙋♀️
Good morning from overcast South Lanarkshire.
Lovely painting Batty.
Welcome Macadia, and NangelaMary congratulations on your first grandchild.
DGD’s team won the netball tournament yesterday, a great end to the season for them. It was a long afternoon so I was very lazy last night.
This is my volunteering day but I’ve a hospital phone appointment which could be any time before 1.00pm so I’ll have to stay home for that.
A frightening thing to happen Alygran, glad you’re ok.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Urmstongran
Good morning everybody from a fresh and dull south Manchester. The Christie Hospital today for bloods.
Wishing you and your DH all the best, Urms. In m6 prayers. 🥰
Congratulations and welcome NangelaMary that's lovely news.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where is 11°C.
I have woken with a very congested chest and blinding headache, hopefully it will pass.
Yesterday was spent pottering in the garden. Now that DH has finished all his jobs, I was able to put it back in order. I had to do it in short spells, but it was so satisfying. However, my hand has swollen up like a balloon! 😔
I have learned a very good lesson, don't nag about the mess (DH becomes uncooperative), be patient and it will get done. I feel extremely virtuous at the moment. 😉
Over to the doctor's this morning and I plan to pop into the large Asda, which is nearby, for some bedding plants. We spent a fortune at the local nursery for bedding plants and something has eaten them. DH's non-stop begonias are no more. He is raging!
Grandmabatty, you are so talented. I have a desire to grow allia?), but have left it far too late.
Pants, you sound as if you had a great weekend. I am trying to cull my stash of beads, including semi precious ones, procured in Rome. I no longer have the dexterity to make jewellery.
Safe journey Ash and enjoy your day folks.
Good morning from a sunny W Kent. The cleaner is coming this morning and then I am meeting a lady from art group for a cup of tea. She finds it difficult to get to art now but we decided we would like to stay in touch. I am desperately trying to remember her SIL’s name!
Welcome to NangelaMary and congratulations on the new arrival.
Safe journey home Ash
Grandmabatty great piece of art
Best wishes to all
Good morning everybody from a fresh and dull south Manchester. The Christie Hospital today for bloods.
NangelaMary many congratulations to you all.
Good morning from North Yorkshire. High cloud and another warm day forecast.
It’s been an eventful weekend. Towards the end of last week I thought I had pulled a muscle in my side. It was uncomfortable but nothing to stop me shopping etc. On Saturday when I got up I could barely stand for the pain in my chest. I thought I was having a heart attack. Paramedics came within 20 minutes and I was off to hospital to be checked out. My friend contracted DD2 in Derbyshire who was on her way to the airport to pick up DD1 and family after their holiday. The girls arrived at the hospital about 2.
It is a muscular thing so I’m at home with pain relief. I’m booked to go on holiday on Saturday so am resting as much as I can. This morning I need to speak to my holiday insurance people as a hospital admission has to be reported.
Congratulations Nangelamary
Have a good day everyone.
Good Morning from West Yorkshire.
Well yesterday was the first day of a new era for us as brand new Grandparents. Our daughter gave birth to her first child- a son . Feeling very proud, and so relieved both Mother and baby are ok and doing well. Have a good day everyone !
Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.
The plumber is coming to look at the loo in the en suite which sometimes forgets to stop filling.
I will try to do the ironing while DH is at the gym then we are going to test drive a car.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Well I am going to go out on a limb and to say to all of you, Good Morning from SEATTLE, Washington, where it is raining cats and dogs and we just had a flood warning flashed on our tellies. Yes, home of Bill Gates and home of Jeff Bezos, both of whom I have had the honour and unfortune to give part of my life to. I hope your roses are doing well because mine are now exceptional. Post some pictures if you can because i just love, love, love roses. My goal is to get out of this trumpist country ASAP.
Good morning from a dry & overcast Sefton. It is decidely cool. No doubt the sun will appear at 5 o'clock as usual. Singing this morning, a bit of admin this afternoon & WI this evening.
Have a good day all.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Not quite as bright today but at least it's dry.
My new French Helper seems very nice and today we shall begin to clear the sitting room ready for the new ceiling although the work hasn't begun on the roof yet.
Busy yesterday with Quaker meeting, Taizé singing and a film at the community cinema last night. The Fall - a French courtroom drama.
The dance performance must have been wonderful Ash . When you said she had hurt her knee I was worried that she wouldn't dance.
My performance career ended before it began when I fell down steps at the theatre door and sprained my ankle aged abt 8!
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve blue sky and sunshine, looks a bit windy though
Safe journey home Ash and well done to your DGD
DD2 and the DGC stayed here last night so once they’ve all gone out it’ll be tidying, washing and then hopefully a bit of gardening

Good morning all from a bright sunny start to the day here on the east coast of Fife I’m getting such lovely weather these days the kirking of the lad and lass in church yesterday was such a beautiful service for these primary 7s they were all so gorgeous in kilts and dresses..
I’m out today with my new PA he’s taking me to see my sister in law who’s in a care home and then we’re off to the local farm shop fir a coffee.
Be good my friends or as they used to say if you can’t be good be careful 🤣🤣
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
It was lovely to see our daughter for the weekend. I will see her next when we go for a short trip to Helsinki in July.
Our cleaner is coming this morning and I’ll do a Waitrose shop. This afternoon OH is having his first go at taking the honey off his bee hives. He has borrowed a sort of device which will extract the honey from the frames. He reckons there may be up to 60 jars worth. I think the kitchen is going to get very sticky!
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning all from a grey north Wales- mustn’t grumble as the weekend was delightful!
Stunning painting grandmabatty - wish I was artistic and my hands could do what my eyes see! 😕
How3ver I am “crafty” and today a bead shop is opening in Llandudno so I’m meeting a friend for a mooch to see if anything tickles our fancy then brunch (think 🥞 with 🥓 and maple syrup….😋)
Will pop back later to catch up but hope for safe travels for Ash, those with appointments to keep and those in foreign climes you lucky peeps….arghhh, it’s raining now 😡☔️
Good morning from s somerset, cloudy and a bit cooler today but still very nice weather
I had a proper rest day yesterday, only pottering and reading, mainly outside on my lounger
Nothing planned for today, it will be what it will be and might end up full of all sorts
Have a good day
Good morning from an overcast, windy Durham. Up early as the builders are starting at 8am - outside work. Awkward as I’ve been ‘lumbered’ with Little Dog - long story.
Meeting a friend for coffee this morning, but it’ll have to be quick as the dog might get stressed!
The birthday party for DGS2 yesterday was a messy, noisy success, although I’m pleased it’s over. DGS1 is older and has plans for a more organized day for his in September.
Sad to see Rob Burrow has died.
Will read through later.
Best wishes to all. X
