Good morning from a sultry Crewe.

Travelling home today after a lovely weekend especially watching DGD dancing yesterday. Proud grandma here!
Hope possible disruption on trains from Manchester today is bearable.

Have a good week. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning Mick and all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and dry but cloudy.
Yesterday I enjoyed my art workshop. I painted a few things but focused on an allium. I was tired by night and slept well.
Today I'm up early for childcare. Nursery drop off then I'll bring dgs2 to my house and walk to play group with him. It's two minutes away from where I stay. Then I'll pick up my prescription and potter about until it's time to get him. For him, it'll be lunch then a nap. It might be that for me too 🤣. Ham salad for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a bright Bristol - we are having a few days of summer!
I had a surprisingly chatty day yesterday. Normally I don’t speak to anyone from the time I leave church to Monday morning. I was invited by my upstairs neighbour for a cuppa. When I went home, I noticed a couple of ladies sunning themselves on our communal patio thing. I joined them with my sewing. While there, the very kind children of our late neighbour came to empty their mum’s flat. They chatted and gave us fabric and wool…. Then our 99 y.o. neighbour joined us for a while!
By the time I went home and had dinner,I’d had a lot of cha5 under my belt. It was so nice.
Today, I have the (very noisy) toddler group, the in the early afternoon, a dentist check up. It’ll be expensive as I think she wants X-rays. I shall try to postpone them as I only had some in March last year.
I hope this brings you all only contentment. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Safe journey Ash.
Lovely painting, Gmb, it looks almost like a bas relief

Grandmabatty Mon 03-Jun-24 06:09:19

GrandMattie thank you. It was done with acrylic paint. I was going to add pastels but I think it would overwork it and my tutor agreed.

Good morning from an overcast, windy Durham. Up early as the builders are starting at 8am - outside work. Awkward as I’ve been ‘lumbered’ with Little Dog - long story.
Meeting a friend for coffee this morning, but it’ll have to be quick as the dog might get stressed!
The birthday party for DGS2 yesterday was a messy, noisy success, although I’m pleased it’s over. DGS1 is older and has plans for a more organized day for his in September.
Sad to see Rob Burrow has died.
Will read through later.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from s somerset, cloudy and a bit cooler today but still very nice weather

I had a proper rest day yesterday, only pottering and reading, mainly outside on my lounger

Nothing planned for today, it will be what it will be and might end up full of all sorts

Have a good day

Good morning all from a grey north Wales- mustn’t grumble as the weekend was delightful!

Stunning painting grandmabatty - wish I was artistic and my hands could do what my eyes see! 😕

How3ver I am “crafty” and today a bead shop is opening in Llandudno so I’m meeting a friend for a mooch to see if anything tickles our fancy then brunch (think 🥞 with 🥓 and maple syrup….😋)

Will pop back later to catch up but hope for safe travels for Ash, those with appointments to keep and those in foreign climes you lucky peeps….arghhh, it’s raining now 😡☔️

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
It was lovely to see our daughter for the weekend. I will see her next when we go for a short trip to Helsinki in July.
Our cleaner is coming this morning and I’ll do a Waitrose shop. This afternoon OH is having his first go at taking the honey off his bee hives. He has borrowed a sort of device which will extract the honey from the frames. He reckons there may be up to 60 jars worth. I think the kitchen is going to get very sticky!
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Not quite as bright today but at least it's dry.

My new French Helper seems very nice and today we shall begin to clear the sitting room ready for the new ceiling although the work hasn't begun on the roof yet.

Busy yesterday with Quaker meeting, Taizé singing and a film at the community cinema last night. The Fall - a French courtroom drama.

The dance performance must have been wonderful Ash . When you said she had hurt her knee I was worried that she wouldn't dance.

My performance career ended before it began when I fell down steps at the theatre door and sprained my ankle aged abt 8! shock
Have the best day possible everyone.

Well I am going to go out on a limb and to say to all of you, Good Morning from SEATTLE, Washington, where it is raining cats and dogs and we just had a flood warning flashed on our tellies. Yes, home of Bill Gates and home of Jeff Bezos, both of whom I have had the honour and unfortune to give part of my life to. I hope your roses are doing well because mine are now exceptional. Post some pictures if you can because i just love, love, love roses. My goal is to get out of this trumpist country ASAP.

kittylester Mon 03-Jun-24 07:11:54

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

The plumber is coming to look at the loo in the en suite which sometimes forgets to stop filling.

I will try to do the ironing while DH is at the gym then we are going to test drive a car.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good Morning from West Yorkshire.
Well yesterday was the first day of a new era for us as brand new Grandparents. Our daughter gave birth to her first child- a son . Feeling very proud, and so relieved both Mother and baby are ok and doing well. Have a good day everyone !

Good morning from North Yorkshire. High cloud and another warm day forecast.
It’s been an eventful weekend. Towards the end of last week I thought I had pulled a muscle in my side. It was uncomfortable but nothing to stop me shopping etc. On Saturday when I got up I could barely stand for the pain in my chest. I thought I was having a heart attack. Paramedics came within 20 minutes and I was off to hospital to be checked out. My friend contracted DD2 in Derbyshire who was on her way to the airport to pick up DD1 and family after their holiday. The girls arrived at the hospital about 2.
It is a muscular thing so I’m at home with pain relief. I’m booked to go on holiday on Saturday so am resting as much as I can. This morning I need to speak to my holiday insurance people as a hospital admission has to be reported.
Congratulations Nangelamary
Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Mon 03-Jun-24 07:33:14

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. The cleaner is coming this morning and then I am meeting a lady from art group for a cup of tea. She finds it difficult to get to art now but we decided we would like to stay in touch. I am desperately trying to remember her SIL’s name!
Welcome to NangelaMary and congratulations on the new arrival.
Safe journey home Ash
Grandmabatty great piece of art
Best wishes to all

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where is 11°C.

I have woken with a very congested chest and blinding headache, hopefully it will pass.

Yesterday was spent pottering in the garden. Now that DH has finished all his jobs, I was able to put it back in order. I had to do it in short spells, but it was so satisfying. However, my hand has swollen up like a balloon! 😔
I have learned a very good lesson, don't nag about the mess (DH becomes uncooperative), be patient and it will get done. I feel extremely virtuous at the moment. 😉

Over to the doctor's this morning and I plan to pop into the large Asda, which is nearby, for some bedding plants. We spent a fortune at the local nursery for bedding plants and something has eaten them. DH's non-stop begonias are no more. He is raging!

Grandmabatty, you are so talented. I have a desire to grow allia?), but have left it far too late.
Pants, you sound as if you had a great weekend. I am trying to cull my stash of beads, including semi precious ones, procured in Rome. I no longer have the dexterity to make jewellery.

Safe journey Ash and enjoy your day folks.

Grammaretto Mon 03-Jun-24 07:42:15

Congratulations and welcome NangelaMary that's lovely news.
