We have doorstep delivery. Our previous milkman never missed a day over 45 years until one evening he called to say apologies his mother had died that day. When he died he was taken to the church on a milk cart pulled by a horse. The whole neighbourhood lined the roads to bid him farewell. His replacement who now delivers milk is just as good.

I have two bottles a week delivered by MilknMore.. they have other stuff for sale, but as I am living on my own, I have no need, only very occasionally.
My milk comes in the very early hours, I think, electric vehicle as I do not hear a thing. no clattering or anything.. the bottle of milk appears on my doorstep as if by magic.. and the bottle, helps reduce the plastic manufactured and used by the producers of same,, not requested by me and little alternatives!

As there is only me, and I don't use much, so my milkman comes twice a week with bottled milk and also delivers my weekend newspapers. As I live in a very rural area it is good to know that, if I ring in advance, he will deliver many other things as well as cream, orange juice and eggs. Wouldn't be without him, a dieing breed!!

We had milk delivered as did many people in the village I live in until one morning there was no milk delivery but a rude email from the dairy telling me my account had been cancelled as the payment had been declined due to insufficient funds and my account would not be reinstated. I was so worried as money was in my account. It seemed everyone in the village who had milk delivered received the same email due to a computer error. Most people including us didn’t bother to try and rejoin.

We have 3 deliveries a week of organic milk in glass bottles from Milk & More .
Simple to change on the app, or add a bit of shopping if needed. I’ve never been aware of the delivery taking place. The delivery driver must float over the gravel drive to the door step!

I changed from supermarket milk after completing the Big Plastic Count a couple of years ago, when I realised that just over 50% of our plastic recycling was from milk alone.

Ours delivers 3 times a week and we could have more frequent deliveries. Rarely have a problem bottle.

We have milk delivered from our local dairy 3 times a week and have never heard them making a noise. Our milkman puts it in the picnic box that we leave in the porch. We use the box mainly to stop birds from pecking at the milk tops!

Yes we have a milk lady who delivers milk from the farm where she works - no sure if she actually milks. We can see the large Friesen herd often from the road. They also have an ice cream parlour. I have started ordering cheese and yogurt from her to as well as eggs which she sells from another local farm. Only a twice a week delivery but it works for us.

I started using the local milkman during the pandemic because I could get milk, eggs cheese etc delivered and I told him that I would continue to use him even though the milk is more expensive so I’m staying loyal to him now.

I only drink milk in tea, so I get a carton of filtered milk every week at Tesco.
Only one house on this development has milk delivered - it arrives between midnight and 3am - so surely, it can’t stay fresh for long during hot weather.

Yes I do and our milk arrives on the doorstep around 4.30 am. There is no clanking as we've been given a crate for the empties. If it promises to be a warm day, it's always left out of the sun. I find it good value for money.

We’ve almost always had milk delivered, at a fair number of houses (I think this one is my 37th). I prefer it to getting additional plastic.

I haven't seen a milk float for many years - they never come around this way. There aren't any paper boys or window cleaners either (steep road)

My daughter gets milk and eggs delivered. Unfortunately a small child broke all the eggs when he saw them on the doorstep.

Never see our milkman even though he delivers from the farm/dairy up the road!! The only time I have ever seen him was when Jubilee celebrations were going on and they wanted their staff to enjoy the break too - so he delivered a day earlier and I was able to shout a thank you to him from the window!! He delivers 3 times a week with extra goodies when we want or order them.
Have to say that fresh milk from a bottle seems to taste so much better but that's just me!!

Not had a milkman where I live since the nineties. Also newspaper deliveries stopped ten years ago when the last shop to do deliveries closed.

Ours comes three times a week but I have no idea when, I have never seen the deliverer and just pay on line. It is there in time for our breakfast. He/she ialso delivers lots of goods including bags of garden compost, a god send to many who find the weight of the bags too much to get from the shops.

At our previous homes (both in the same area) we used to have milk delivered. The milkman was known and loved by everybody!

If you bumped into him in the street/at the shops/anywhere and asked him to add an extra pint or a box of eggs to the next delivery, he always remembered to do it. He was so fit. The front gardens in our road were either steep to go up, or steep to go down to (our garden was approx. 70° angle and had 25 steps and most others were similar!) He was still working in his nineties!

Sadly, the dairy closed and is now houses.

Someone near me has a delivery in the wee small hours 2/3 times a week but he’s quiet and doesn’t even disturb next doors ‘guard’ dog who sleeps outside. It’s expensive though.

Yes for many years when the children were younger. We got through a lot of milk for breakfast cereal.

We stopped having deliveries when our local milkman retired as the cost became too much and the milk float was replaced with a noisy diesel van.

The milk came from the nearby Abbey. They now make beer instead!

Exactly like Witzend; milk delivered thrice weekly in glass bottles. Early morning delivery (of local milk) from helpful local men who are running their own business. The milk is fresh, as are the eggs we have from them. Excellent service all round.

We still have milk delivered have done for nearly 20 years did Chang companies a few years ago as had been bought out by milk and more. Now with a local independent that charges less than the national company though it is more expensive than the supermarket
They have recently dropped to 4 days a week to reduce overheads

Just like others I had delivery for many years, then they changed to twice a week, then it was delivered in the early hours.
In summer that was so unreliable.
I cancelled but they still deliver opposite my house and a little way up on my side so I still get waken up occasionally by the slamming doors.
No more clanking of bottles though as they deliver in plastic throwaway cartons.

If you have milk from a farm you cut out the middleman. Tescos deliver cheap milk in plastic, they drive down the price to the farms so that it may be unsustainable to keep cows. To those with noisy milk delivery could you not raise the issue with the deliverer? My milk is frequently delivered before I even fall asleep!
