Today I went to ….

Sounds a lovely day maddyone. Shame your husband couldn’t share the champagne, but how nice to get free extras. Did you sleep well?

We started the day with a video chat with our three grandchildren who live in New Zealand, which was lovely and they seemed happy which is the most important thing. After the call my granddaughter sent several texts saying a I love you and I miss you so much, alongside copious amounts of love hearts and smiley faces. So a good beginning to the day.
Later we went out for afternoon tea at a local hotel, using a voucher that we were given for Christmas by our son and daughter in law. The voucher covered a glass of champagne each, but my husband rarely drinks alcohol and anyway he was driving, and so he gave me his glass, so I was up to two glasses of very nice rosé champagne. Then halfway through the tea the waitress arrived with two more glasses of champagne saying that the barman had accidentally poured two more, not realising we’d already had it. She said we might as well have it, no charge. So over to me. I drank the two extra glasses, luckily they weren’t huge glasses, but it took me quite a while to finish them. I hardly managed to drink any tea with my food unsurprisingly.
Then home to watch a bit of television and now just jumped into bed. It was a very nice day.

Today we went to the local farm shop, which conveniently has a lovely hilly wooded area where we could let our dog race around sniffing while we walked more slowly up and down the hills.
Bought some lovely thick pork chops from the farm shop then sat and ate an ice cream (even the dog had her own special dog brand) before heading home. The chops were delicious (22 minutes in the air fryer with roasties, broccoli, apple and mushrooms.

Today I met up with friends for a D Day celebration.Live music in public gardens and we were able to lie on the grass enjoying it all. We then had snacks at an open air cafe where a group of women at another table were celebrating a 30 birthday.One of the group came over and told us they really hope they can be like us in the future .
I must admit I hadn't thought about how old we are until that happened but good to know we have a life style to admire.

Today I went to the farm shop in a nearby village wth DH,DD and SIL to buy cheese, had the most delicious fruit scone and clotted cream with proper tea in their tearoom, followed by my granddaughter's ballet show in the village hall.

To my surprise, I bumped into some of my neighbours, my daughter's neighbours and an ex colleague, whom I hadn't seen for over fifteen years.
The strangest thing was that none of us live in this village.

Later I went to the Saturday Vigil Mass, where I spoke to numerous people in my role as a sacristan and then sat with my family..

I came home exhausted and after dinner and a long soak, collapsed with a glass of wine.

A perfect day.

today, I went to a village close by where they were having a coffee morning and plant sale. All profits going to the upkeep of the village hall. I have gardened for years, but only got a small garden now, but besides getting a few plants for myself , was able to help several people . The 2 people running the plant stall did not have a great deal of gardening knowledge , but I was able to describe some plants and where they would be best planted etc and so people bought more, and hopefully they will grow well and everyone enjoyed it. It had been extremely windy and grey, but the wind dropped and some sun came out so it was a lovely time. Then home to clear up the mess I had left behind me!

Today I went to Tesco and Lidl. I quite enjoy supermarket shopping but I hate shopping for clothes.

Today I went to walk the seafront but the wind was so cold my ears were stinging, so gave up.

Took my new hip for two walks towards the village centre, both slightly longer than yesterday, and then into the garden, where it sniped viciously about my attempts to deadhead some roses.

Pirates event in Conwy on the bus, lots of people in stunning costumes Ooh Arrhing Me Hearties on the Quay with a band and food stalls and 🌞

A shared bottle of Pinot Grigio at new Tapps bar then 🐟 n 🍟 before home to a snooze in the summerhouse…😴

The lunches in our local Indian are about the same price, I know one of the staff well, they use food left from the previous night. Nothing wrong with that, in fact it tastes better the next day.

Oh my goodness….we went to our cheapest Chinese this week. A rare thing as usually we favour the Indian, however a bowl of soup £7:50 a bowl of rice £9:00. We were shocked.

Ooh, I love a proper meal at a lovely authentic Indian restaurant. That was a bargain price, BlueBelle

Sounds great BlueBelle. We have a lovely Indian Restaurant in our village but it costs a bit more than that......so we don't go often.

I went to Tesco. I did buy some Charlie Bigham tandoori chicken drumsticks.

Oh bad luck crazy h. I had a bad fall last year in the first day of my holiday in the sun, spent most if the time hobbling between a lounger the restaurant and the room.

I haven’t been anywhere - still having a sore back following a fall, on holiday. Why on earth would owners fit marble staircases , when they know that not all holidaymakers are young and fit ?Rant over ..

Today I went nowhere other than my sofa with intervals walking round the garden, it’s warmer outside than it is in here.

That is very good value indeed, and sounds lovely.
