Good morning everyone from a (now) sunny south Manchester but boy did we have torrential rain from teatime onwards last night. The communal decking outside our front door is very wet!
I’m minding L’il Miss today as her mum goes back to work but the school L’il Miss goes to has an inset day. I’ve made a hair appointment for her as her curls have grown like wild sage. She has such a lot of thick hair it’s beautiful!

Good Morning Monday 10th June 2024
(42 Posts)Good morning all and it’s dreary here in Essex.
We arrived back here and all was well. DS1 had been round to water tubs and hanging baskets and mow the small lawn.
Last evening the tv remote stopped working and had somehow frozen. Before I could fit new batteries, Dh fiddled around and now both tv’s aren’t working 🙄. (You know how I feel Marydoll, not a natural handyman) 😤. We went to bed early and left it. DS1 will pop in this evening and hopefully sort us out 🤞🙏.
Today I have my Chimes group which is always fun and then I’ll shop.
Lovely bracelets Baubles. 4 of my gd’s have tickets to see Taylor Swift and are very excited. 🤔.
I hope the boys sickness is short lived Bellasnanna .yes try to keep your distance , difficult as it will be. Poor little chaps.
Take care all 🌸
Good morning all from a very soggy North Leicestershire.
Dave the plumber is due to return today to attempt another repair to the loo in the unsuite. I should be at a volunteer event this morning but doubt I will make it.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from rainy Colchester. Today's high is 15°. At least the very high pollen count is down.
Laundry to dry indoors and mac on for a mooch round the shops. Will I get to wear a new Summer dress should I buy one?
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning everyone from Inverness, its dry with light grey cloud but very chilly for June
Hoping yourvDGSs are feeling a bit better soon Bellasnana, poor things!
Hopefully I’ll get in the garden today, the weeds are enjoying the cold wet weather and are springing up overnight and growing very fast. DD2 and the DGC stayed over last night so it’ll be a tidy up first. DGD is eventually feeling much better so that’s a relief, thanks all for your kind messages
Gorgeous bracelets baubles
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from Durham. Heavy rain overnight woke me at 4.20 and I’ve not really slept since then.
The house exterior work continues - it’s overrun as it’s a big job - expensive too, but it has to be done. The early starts are a nuisance though. Financial Advisor coming today to tell me if I can afford it all!!
DD2 and family arrived safely in Majorca - nearly midnight and DGS2 was still bouncing around.
Must shake a leg!
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from a wet, cold and blustery Oxfordshire.
A wet walk will happen later, meanwhile the dog has her hungry look on her face, so I will go and feed her before she goes off and wakes MrOops up.
Housework today, then we are away for a few days visiting family and a couple of friends down on the South Coast.
Have a good day everyone, let’s hope the sun will shine on us later today, we are warm though as the heating has just come on!
Good morning from Sefton. I have been awake since 3.30. Like Llfl I was woken by torrential rain. It is now sunny but with huge puddles. A quiet day yesterday as it was too drizzly & breezy to venture very far. Singing group this morning. We are sounding much better these days.😁 Everybody is getting much more confident & less embarrassed. We all go home smiling.
Wishing you all a pleasant start to the week.
Good morning, it’s been raining here in south Glos , the skies are black but the sun’s shining- it looks like it’s going to pour down any minute.
Yesterday I spent nearly two hours finishing the border by the back door, weeding, fertilising, planting it up and then thoroughly watering it - the soil was bone dry even 9” down. I’m rather pleased with my efforts.
I started moving stuff out of the summerhouse in preparation for Wednesday; I won’t be sorry to see the back of it.
I finished knitting my pair of socks, now I need to get on with the Aran cardigan I started knitting for my great niece, she’ll have outgrown it if I don’t get it done soon!
Dog walk first then I’ll see how the day goes.
Take care everyone 🌹
Good morning from a hot sunny Malta. The temperature will be in the mid to high 30°s all week.
I arrived to watch the boys as usual to find DD3 changing their sheets as both had been sick. It’s going to be a long day although DD3 has not gone to work. I will still stay and help but (selfishly) hope I won’t catch the bug as I have a phobia of being sick 🤢
Ash how lovely to have watched your DGS perform. Clearly he’s inherited your acting skills.😊
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I was woken by torrential rain earlier!
We had a lovely weekend with elder son and our granddaughter. We were treated to a delicious lunch yesterday at a restaurant by the river. Our 8-year old granddaughter is a delight.
The usual Waitrose shop this morning. After lunch OH has croquet with the U3A. I will pop over the road to my neighbour (literally across the road!) for a crafting afternoon. I think we are going to do something involving burnt wood.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from Rugeley where it’s currently raining. We hope it will cease before our journey to Portsmouth later this morning.
DGS3 was a delight in the róle of the villain Rooster in Annie (junior version) yesterday and the whole performance was great fun. My DS and I were both quite teary as they took their final bows.
Wishing you as good a week as circumstances (and the weather!) allow. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where I think it’s dry for now.
We had an enjoyable time making bracelets yesterday at DD’s, photo of the result of our work. DGDs will make a few more on their own, as will I when I have some time.
Off to Edinburgh today as we are needed to help out today and tomorrow. Duties include watching DGD at her school sports day this afternoon, fingers crossed for a dry day.
Wishing everyone a good day.
Good morning from s somerset, it has been raining, enough to clean the windows. It should be dry later but not very warm
Definitely another pottering day today and a last bit of sewing to complete my cycling top, I only have to make the pockets and add the metal poppers
Have a good day
Good morning Mick and others from Polmont where it's currently 5° and alternatively clouds and sun.
Yesterday my quiet day changed slightly when dd invited me for a coffee. The boys were so sweet. Later I visited mum who is officially called the come back queen. Despite the nurses phoning me on Wednesday, telling me she was on her last legs, yesterday she was sitting in a chair. By the time I went in, she was very uncomfortable and asked to go back to bed, but was answering questions and even made a joke. She looks incredibly frail though.
Today is early childcare day. Then nursery drop off and, hopefully, play group drop off. I'm making a bolognaise sauce in the slow cooker today. Some of the soup I made yesterday will do for lunches, the rest will be frozen. Have a good day all.
Good morning from Bristol. It has rained a little overnight but we are promised a mainly dry day.
DS left for his week in Norway at 0430! A bus to Gatwick. He also has a 3-hour ferry journey at the other end! Eeeuww!
My friend and I had a lovely afternoon, walking from one venue to another, looking at the art on show. Much better stuff than I expected, mostly to my taste, very little weird stuff. We met another couple of church friends at the last venue and shared a well deserved cuppa. We’d been walking gently for about two hours.
I have a very early dentist appointment, the pain to my purse will be far, far greater than to my mouth! NHS dentists are as rare as hens’ teeth here. Then a trip to Tesco to buy stuff for tomorrow’s evening drinks.
I hope the weeks brings contentment to you all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good Morning Everyone ,
Its grey and wet at the moment here in brackley this morning.
My usual routine bus trip to Bicester ,which includes coffee and savoury or sweet snack then shop, and hopefully meet others I have got to know .
Returning to have lunch ,and later talk to friends on the phone .
Take Care,
Mick
